Heart of Steele was certainly a unique story. Good writing helped move it along quite well. Enjoyed the story.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It got a little confusing at times when it would switch to the different main character when they were thinking something, but otherwise it was a good book. I'm not sure how I would've been if Steele did to me what he did to Autumn .
It had some hot, steamy scenes that I enjoyed. It kind of ended quickly after having something major happen to Autumn. (I don't want to give away any details so I don't ruin it for others.)

I really liked the idea of this book. Magnus Steele, a powerful businessman, is under investigation by the FBI. He hatches the perfect scheme to get the FBI off his back—seduce the lead agent’s sister and use her to get the FBI to leave him alone. NYU law student, Autumn Moretti, meets a handsome and charismatic stranger and has no idea she is becoming a pawn in his game.

Unfortunately, the execution fell a little flat for me. The author did not spend much time introducing readers to the main characters and the set up of the book. We are immediately dropped into Magnus hatching his plan. There is no effort spent evolving the plot. We are just told things happen. For example, Magnus has an employee pose as a NYU student to befriend Autumn with the sole purpose of getting her to a cabin. Cut to the next scene and Autumn is at the cabin. Magnus poses as a friendly neighbor to get Autumn to a party. Cut to the next scene and they are best buddies. She attends the party and is seduced by the mysterious Jay Steele (aka Magnum) and never realizes her mysterious stranger is her friendly neighbor. Everything just fell into place too easily and quickly. I would have enjoyed the author spending more time developing those details in the plot.

The first book in the Moretti Family series, Heart of Steele is a promising start. Magnus and Autumn’s interaction and the storyline is enticing keeping me engaged throughout. I look forward to reading more of this series.

Heart of Steele is steamy, sexy, and has a little mystery. Magnus Steele is hard to get a read on, he is a bad guy with like a mafia-lite kind of business, but also a good guy and never caught. Autumn is a smart girl but personally forgives/forgets too easily. Nevertheless, it is a fun and fast read.

You gotta love the bad boys and Magnus is a top notch one. Plenty of steamy romance in this one and a bit of mystery to keep you interested. The only down side was Autumn was a bit too naive and weepy at times but otherwise an enjoyable read.
