Great to have to opportunity to read about upcoming books,it gives you the chance to find some possible new favorite authors. Thank you.
The buzz books are great, as they always include books by familiar authors, as well as debut novelists. I am always happy when an excerpt is offered before I choose a book. Thank you!
I do love the whole concept of these Buzz Books. They have lists of titles being released in the month - very useful - but they also include excerpts of books due to be published. It works on the same principle as Kindle samples but you get a lucky dip. As you usually don't know of these writers, you wouldn't know to read their work so it works well to expose you to new authors. I'll be following up on a few of these. Recommended if you're looking for some new ideas.
I was given a copy of the book by Netgalley in return for an honest review.
LOVE THIS FEATURE! Gives one a chance to preview books and keep on one's radar. I continue to look forward to buzz books monthly.
I look forward to each edition of Buzz Books. This time, I was already familiar with two of the novels: "The 7/12 Lives of Evelyn Hardcastle" and "The Dinner Party." I had not yet heard about "John Woman" and based on the Buzz Books preview, I want to know more!
This is my second of these, and I am quickly becoming addicted to them. I love that I can get an advanced look at upcoming books so I can update my lists and be ready for their releases; and yes, I do get that organized with my booklists! I also like being able to read excerpts, because it’s a good way to be introduced to new authors, or authors that other people rave about (I like to find out for myself without having to commit to an entire book). I did find it extremely interesting that there were a number of political nonfiction books on this list, releasing just in time for the midterm elections. Timing is everything. Judging from this list, and from what I’ve read elsewhere, I’m looking forward to several books, including Rebecca Serle’s “The Dinner List” and Jo Jakeman’s “The Exes’ Revenge.” The excerpt from Stuart Turton’s “The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle” was enough to put that one on my list as well. But the one I am most excited about is “Time’s Convert” by Deborah Harkness. Her All Souls trilogy is one of my all-time favorites, and I can’t wait to read her latest. My only wish for this list is that more of the titles had a one or two sentence blurb to give a better idea of what each book is about. Other Buzz Books have been more detailed than this one. Still, at least it’s all in one place to give people someplace to start looking for their next read. Thank you to NetGalley for a digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you for the nice samples! I was especially looking forward to the Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock, but it seems The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is worth checking out as well.
A: great way to learn about new books and read first chapters. I am particularly interested in reading "The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock" by Imogen Hermes Gowar. It appears to be different from my usual reading and the writing in the first chapter is very good.
I love Buzz books as it gives you an idea of what you might need to read next. It’s like a trailer for books. I now know what I want to read next. Thanks NetGalley.
A fantastic publication with detailed infirmation on books to be published plus first chapters of titles that are already spoken of with great appreciation. Highly recommendable!
Interesting excerpts. Excited for the new books.
Thank you to Publishers Lunch and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
This is a great resource for checking out upcoming books. Thanks for making this available. This is my review.
So many books out next month; this collection was a good way to get acquainted with them. Especially looking forward to the 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.
A great compilation of news, information, and excerpts for upcoming new book releases from a variety of genres.
Another good preview of upcoming books. These have been a definite help to me in choosing titles to add to my ever growing TBR lists.
As always, I got another half dozen upcoming books to add to my TBR list. I'm especially looking forward to The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, by Stuart Turton.
I downloaded an advance reader copy of this book from netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
This was helpful, as always.
I love having the opportunity to get a preview of upcoming releases. It's also helpful to have a sneak peek into a few highly anticipated books.
As amazing as always and it will always be! I love to read little parts of the books so I can see which one to request!
I am always excited to read Buzz Book Monthly's latest titles, and the issue for September 2018 is no exception. While there are a few notable titles already on my TBR list - namely, Imogen Hermes Gowar's The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock as well as Stuart Turton's The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle - there are also a few pleasant surprises, such as Sarah Pinborough's latest thriller Cross Her Heart and Rebecca Serle's The Dinner List.
I can't wait to dive in!
