This book was interesting and I do find the subject important. While I felt it was a well done piece in terms of the research it got slightly to emotional and felt a bit like a manifesto which was slightly a turn off for me - but that might be personal although can be polarizing to new readers that the author is attempting to reach and educate on the matter.

I think if I would have been given this book when I was younger, I would be giving it a different review. But I can only approach this from the standpoint of I'm just too old for it. I know a lot about menstruation, I know a lot of the stigmas, I've lived through the comments that a lot of men and women make upon shaming us for periods, and nothing in this felt like new information. However, I do like the message and the push to achieve normalcy, so if this book fell into the hands of girls aged 10-15, I think it could wield a lot of power.
