I always love a good cozy mystery and this one was just what I was looking for. The main character, Everly, has an authentic voice and the setting is very believable. You get just enough quirky characters and comical mystery mishaps to keep things light and cozy but entertaining. Sometimes a cozy mystery can be overly formulaic and lack a distinct voice. This one doesn't suffer that issue. I really enjoy Bree's new series and to be honest this book may have been even better than the first. Don't skip out on a quick trip to Charm, NC for a beachy mystery and fun characters in this seaside story.

I did not realize this was the second in a series when I picked this one up. I did not feel like I missed anything though. Original cozy mystery story well done. I will definitely read more from this series.

The second in the series. Evelyn runs an ice tea shop on a barrier island in North Carolina. When she organized a wedding it goes terribly wrong when the groom is murdered. Working at helping her cop boyfriend, by sticking her nose in, is a common trend in cozy mysteries. Still works well though, and found it an enjoyable read. Would recommend.

Recipes! For 2 beverages and 1 food to be specific. They look so good and they would be perfect to indulge in while discussing this wonderful cozy mystery with your friends or book club. The characters were truly fantastic and the mystery was well done. The dialogue flowed nicely and I felt like there was appropriate character development for the story. I missed the first book in the series and feel completely comfortable going back to read it. I don’t feel like there was anything given away or that each book couldn’t be read regardless of the order. (Though if you can read them in order going forward, why not?!)

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Bree Baker, and SOURCEBOOKS-Landmark for allowing me to read this book and share my honest thoughts and opinions with others.

I hadn't read the first book in the series, but there's no problem starting here. I liked the characters, I thinks there's lots of opportunity to use the characters interestingly in future stories. The mystery is fine, but Everly is one of those characters who doesn't listen and gets herself into scrapes. So you've been warned if that's something that you don't like. I normal don't, but it didn't bother me much, possible because I haven't read 5or 6 books yet where she is like that.

The book also a lot of romance elements both with Everly and her best friend. I, obviously, noticed it, but again, maybe being the first book with this character, I just went with it.

So, I enjoyed the series and I have #5, Closely Harbored Secrets, from the library which I'll be starting next. I received this copy of "Tea" from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoy this series. Everly is hosting a beach wedding for a childhood friend. When the groom is murdered at the wedding she sets out to clear her friend and solve the crime. I really enjoy the island setting and all the fun characters. I love the relationship Everly has with her aunts and the Island. Her relationship with Detective Hays also continues. There are enough suspects and twists and turns to make the murder interesting. The solution made sense. I look for word to reading more. Enjoy this fun beachey cozy mystery.

Detective Hays and Everly Swan...fire and ice! She likes to stick her nose into business that pertains to her friends, often with troubling following her. Detective Hays warns her to mind her own business. But what can a girl do when the murder takes place on her beach! At a wedding her cafe' is catering! I devour Bree Baker's books and am already looking for the next installment of the Seaside Cafe' Mysteries!

I apologize due to a death in the family I was unable to read and review this book. I apologize to the author, publisher and Netgalley for my inability to follow through.

Baker's oceanside cafe mystery series is a great read, and her latest novel, in which an entire wedding party are suspects in the killing of the groom, is even better than the first.

4.5 stars

The second murder mystery in the Everly Swan series. This time Everly has to deal with bride drama while her good friend’s brand-new husband gets murdered on the beach right after the wedding! That wasn’t what Everly was expecting, of course, and it makes it worse that she and her grieving friend are stuck right in the middle of the investigation and fielding jibes from the groom’s outraged family and friends.

This has a smart mystery and I like Everly as an amateur investigator just as much as I did in the first book. This is one of my favorite cozy series and I bought the next book the same day I read this one.

Thanks to the publisher for a free reading copy. A favorable review was not required. Review is based on the final printed copy.

I love cozy mysteries set in coffee shops and tea shops! This one was a fun read. The first book in this series was good, but the plot was really similar to another tea shop mystery, so I was glad that this one was a more original mystery. The characters in this series are lovely and the descriptions of the area of North Carolina are breathtaking. Reading this makes me want to book a flight to the coast! I so look forward to more books in the Seaside Cafe series!

Title: No Good Tea Goes Unpunished

Author: Bree Baker

Series: Seaside Café Mystery Book 2

Chapters: 24

Pages: 330

Genre: cozy mystery

Rating: 4 stars

In the second book in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series Everly Swan is settling back into life in her hometown and catering a childhood friend’s wedding when the wedding turns in to a funeral. When the groom is murder and the new bride is the primary and only suspect in the eyes of the law. Everly in determined to clear her friends name even when it means butting heads with Detective Hays a former US Marshall turned small-town detective.
After her first murder investigation she had promised to keep her nose out of police business unfortunately when it someone she knows she just can't help but butt in. Hopefully she can help solve another murder without ending up the killers next target.
No Good Tea goes Unpunished isn't your typical cozy mystery. The beach setting with a tea cafe plus it in the culinary cozy. But it reads more modern. The fictional beach town in North Carolina not far from the outer banks is easy to picture even for someone who hasn't been there because of the author's descriptions of the town. Without the magic aspect this book reminds me a bit of the movie Practical Magic. The whole quirky aunts thing and the so called family curse. As well as the loveable cat and Seagull that have adopted Everly not the other way around.
This cozy mystery is great for cozy fans that are just looking to branch out while still staying in the cozy genre. I also suggest reading the books in series order.

No Good Tea Goes Unpunished by Bree Baker is the second book in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series. I had not read the first book, but I was able to follow this one with no problem. Everly owns an iced tea shop and cafe in North Carolina. She has organized a beachfront wedding which goes horribly wrong when the groom is found dead. Everly begins her own investigation and soon becomes a target for the killer. Add in two eccentric aunts, a crazy ex-boyfriend, and an annoying reporter and Everly has her hands full. It all works together though. I loved the setting and the characters in this book. While the book easily stands on its own, it makes me want to go back and read the first book as well as any future installments.

My first Seaside Café book and I can't wait for the next! Not only does it involve my favorite type of drink (tea in any form except may Chai) but the savory recipes and of course all that makes a cozy great! Everly is the perfect character, with a little spunk and a whole lot of personality to go with her shy insecurities. I don't understand how anyone who let her get away and broke her heart could possibly think that they should get a second chance. This is one country song that isn't going to be played in reverse, not when the handsome Detective Hale is around. Oh and of course Everly is ever busy working to improve her home/business, help her friend Amanda stock the little libraries (I LOVE when an author uses their story to inform), and help her bee keeping Aunts in spite of the bee phobia. Yet she still makes time to brew herself a little bit of trouble by asking questions and looking for the killer. Nicely written Ms. Baker, I had completely forgotten about one character until it was almost too late! Everly is a great heroine and I look forward to trying those recipes and seeing how her life and adventures progress!

Catering her friend's beach wedding was working out beautifully for Everly Swan until the groom was found dead in the water. With her friend as suspect #1, Everly starts asking questions until she stirs up more than her aunts' bees. Looks like Everly may have put herself in the marketer's sights. Thoroughly entertaining cozy. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

“No Good Tea Goes Unpunished” by Bree Baker is the second book in ‘A Seaside Café Mystery Series’, and it was an excellent read. The first one in the series was ‘Live and Let Chai’, although I have yet to read it. I don’t think this hindered my enjoyment of this one at all.

What highly entertaining mix of mystery and mayhem! This was a wonderful cozy mystery which was both lovely and enjoyable. It made perfect reading for me between other more intense novels. It was funny and quirky with a fantastic plot. The characters were very well drawn by Bree Baker and I especially liked Everly’s great-aunts, Clara and Fran, who ran the ‘Blessed Bee’, a honey shop, for their comedic moments.

This book was a great package of fun and excitement and although it was longer than most cozies, it was a perfect book to enjoy with a drink of tea and a large slice of lemon cake.

I really appreciated the clever writing from Bree Baker in this novel which kept me intrigued right to the end.

With its great story and wonderful characters, I would recommend “No Good Tea Goes Unpunished” to all cozy mystery lovers out there who are wanting an easy-to-read weekend read. I will be looking out for the next book in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel, at my own request, from SOURCEBOOKS Landmark via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

A great sequel in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series. Everly Swan hosts a wedding reception for her childhood friend. Swan's local tea shop is once again the scene of a murder. She now has to help find the murderer among a crowd of out of town guests, a noisy reporter, and a shady business partner. Baker does not disappoint and I can't wait to read the next book!

NO GOOD TEA GOES UNPUNISHED is an entertaining brew of mystery and mayhem. A perfect cozy mystery.

Author Bree Baker has what it takes to readers enthralled in her stories. There was so much going on in NO GOOD TEA GOES UNPUNISHED! From the murder in the first chapter until the reveal in the last, this book was packed page after page with excitement. There are assaults, threats, and warnings. The killer was trying so hard to tie up loose ends. I never knew what to expect from one chapter to the next. Seriously, there were times when I didn’t realize I was holding my breath!

The scenes that aren’t harrowing are full of fun, and sweet moments. I adore every character in this series, especially Aunt Clara and Aunt Fran. Their scenes always make me at the least smile, at the most snort with laughter. The same with protagonist, Everly. Some of the things she says and thinks crack me up. Her fear of bees amuses me to no end. Not her fear itself, but the way she talks about it.

I was so excited when this book was finally released. I loved the first one so much. Now I can happily say I love NO GOOD TEA GOES UNPUNISHED as well!

In Bree Baker's No Good Tea Goes Unpunished, the second installment in the Seaside Cafe Mystery series, this cozy started with a whopper about a wedding day gone wrong. For Everly Swan, she runs a seaside cafe on Charm Island, off the coast of the Outer Banks in the Carolinas. She's been catering her childhood Judy's wedding reception with fresh glasses of tea and some light refreshing snacks. But after she said "I Do", she discovers her husband's dead body off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Everly does the best she could do to console Judy and wait for Detective Grady Hays to come to their rescue. While Everly helps her two aunts out with a video about the colony collapse disorder among honeybees, she runs her cafe and be on the lookout for any suspicious people including a nosy reporter, an ex-girlfriend, and a former colleague. While she does all that, her feelings for Grady, a widower with a young son, grew a bit stronger, while her ex-boyfriend Wyatt arrives in town to win her advances. Everly didn't want any part of it, but someone wants to make sure Everly doesn't snoop around to get closer to the truth, while there's been an attack on her when she discovers the whodunit and why. It's up to her to fend for herself on the island's maritime forest in a life and death matter.

It’s always nice to come across a great new cozy mystery series to check out, and for those of us who have a hankering for camellia sinensis, it’s extra nice when the mystery involves tea. Having read several different cozy series centered around tearooms, I was so pleased to find a new series about an iced tea shop and seaside café, and my first intro to the series is actually the second book, No Good Tea Goes Unpunished.

Bree Baker’s Seaside Café Mystery series centers on one Everly Swan, who has opened a seaside restaurant and iced tea shop in the coastal town of Charm, North Carolina. As befits a cozy mystery town, Charm is utterly charming, and it’s not surprising when one of Everly’s childhood friends decides to hold her wedding on the beach there. It is, however, surprising when the groom is found floating in the surf on his wedding night.

While solving the mystery of who killed the groom is the focus of the story, No Good Tea Goes Unpunished also has some thoroughly entertaining subplots. My favorite of these concerns Everly’s great-aunts, two elderly women who run a honey shop called Blessed Bee. The aunts are determined to enter a video application in a contest whose winner gets to appear in a documentary on “the plight of the American honeybee,” and the aunts' bee-themed antics are quite entertaining.

How Everly manages to juggle a murder investigation, her aunts’ bee obsession, a tea-shop-and-restaurant operation, and dueling romantic interests is quite the feat, but we’re cheering for Everly every flip-flopping step of the way.

Tea-loving readers will also enjoy the recipes included in the book, and if you’re like me and missed the first installment of this (truly) charming new series, you’ll turn the last page and immediately order the first book, Live and Let Chai, to see what you’ve missed!
