Classic cozy - read it as much for the recipes as for the story. Sherry is back trying to solve a murder = and this time her dad Erno is the suspect because a rug hooking tool was used as a weapon. He's not the most logical suspect so you'll follow the trail of twists to the truth. Sherry's interactions with her dad aren't always the best nor are those with Detective Ray Bease. I like Amber and I liked the new dogs. As with the last book, I think there's a better one in here. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Sherry has gone back to her maiden name, Oliveri, and is gearing up for another cooking contest at a local TV station; her dad, Erno, a prominent Augustin citizen, goes with her to cheer her on. While Erno heads to the bathroom after the competition, there is a blackout, and when the lights come back on, one of the news anchors is dead with Erno's hooking tool in her neck. Eek! Now Sherry must set out to prove that her dad is not the killer and shouldn't be on the suspect list, but Detective Ray Bease is unrelenting.

Sherry's friend, Amber, is back (and I'm hoping she'll become a permanent character) and is helping out at Erno's Ruggery; while Sherry is trying to clear her dad's name, lots of shocking things are taking place in town, including a family who insists their ancestor was the rightful founder of Augustin and want recognition at the annual Founder's Day picnic.

I'm happy Sherry was able to recover from solving the last murder and I'm excited to see how her character will develop as the series goes on. Chutney, Sherry's dog, has found a new doggie friend, Bean, whom Amber has adopted and pets always make a cozy mystery better. While Marla, Sherry's sister, made phone appearances, I was a little sad she wasn't in this story more - not that it was lacking, but I just really like her character. I feel that Sherry and I are similar in idiosyncrasies and Marla is more free-spirited, which I wish I could be sometimes :)

This book was a good, quick read and I'm excited to see what Devon Delaney has in store for her characters next. 3.7 stars.

I voluntarily reviewed this book on Netgalley. #netgalley #finalroastingplace #devondelaney

I will post to Amazon once it's published.

This book is good but I’ve realized that this series isn’t calling to me. I’m not feeling a connection with the characters at all. It’s not a bad book, it’s just not for me.

I actually feel bad about it, but I just can't like this book. To me, the characters were unlikable and off-putting. In some cases their conversations were sophomoric, and just plain made no sense. There was no kindness or warmth in 'Final Roasting Place', elements that make a good cozy. There were too many contrived twists and turns in the mystery that were hard to follow. I will say that it ended on a note that made me interested to see what would happen in the next book, and I will be trying one of the recipes. Otherwise, pretty lackluster.

Final Roasting Place is a fun cozy mystery. Sherry is a strong, likeable character who is an amateur chef.
After winning another cooking contest, Sherry gets involved in another murder investigation, since her dad is a prime suspect.
The twists and turns will keep the reader guessing until the big reveal.
I volunteered to read and review an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

Final Roasting Place by Devon Delaney is next book in the series.
Sherry has won yet another cooking contest while working in her father rug store full time.
After the show while trying to leave the studio there is power cut and after the ligjts come back Sherry and her father Erno are faces with the murder of young and ambitious morning show host.
Murder weapon is a very unusual tool and implicates her father. It's up to Sherry to clear her fathers name.
Started quite nicely paced but lost its flow later on.
Clever plot and well written. I found father-daughter relationship somewhat strange. I also didn't like her attitude towards the detectice.
I adored the small town setting and mouthwatering food.

A solid addition to the series! Then characters still seem a bit rough around the edges development wise, but that comes with time. The storyline was well thought out and the writing really flowed. If you give this book time, it is a very enjoyable read.

After enjoying the first one in this series, I was interested to read this one. The mystery itself was well written and enjoyable. Would have a liked a little more character development, hopefully in the next one.

Thank you for the early copy.

I picked this up because of the plot, I was looking for something cute with a hint of mystery. A interesting and well done novel. I recommend this for fans of cozy mysteries!

I love a good cozy mystery centering around food! Ultimately, I thought that this novel was fine, but it didn't give me what I truly love about a classic cozy: lovable characters and a lovable community. I found the protagonist to be difficult to connect with, and it seemed as though the author was trying to paint a picture of how she wanted her readers to view her main character. The nature of the dialogue felt a little forced as well, making the relationships throughout the story feel inauthentic.

The actual mystery was super fun, and I enjoyed trying to figure out the whodunnit, so this book still gets a 3 stars from me.

This is a delightful cozy mystery featuring interesting characters, and engaging plot and a backstage look at what it takes to run a small tv station. Sherry Oliveri has found her true calling as a cook off contestant, and she has just won the appetizer cook off at the local tv station, Station 12. She brings her father to the on air contest with her and sees him engaging in spirited conversation with several of the station employees. When one of them, Carmell, is found murdered during a power outage with a rung hooking tool from her father Erno's store embedded in her neck, the police turn to her father as a prime suspect. With the help of her good friend Amber, and prodded on by her father's good friends, Sherry gets involved in sussing out who the true culprit could be. This is an entertaining story with plenty of twists and turns, good friends and delicious food, I highly recommend it.
