Hidden is the first book in a new series (Dark Ops) that promises to be another hit by Rebecca Zanetti.

I’m a fan of the author and several of her series including the Scorpius Syndrome books, which is a mix of romantic suspense and not really paranormal, but more like science gone wild. The Dark Ops series is full on romantic suspense and as always with Ms. Zanetti’s books, on the steamy side. I wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to keep up the tension that she did so well in the Scorpius Syndrome series, but she did not disappoint. While HIDDEN did start a little slower for me as she set up the world and the players, it wasn’t boring at all. It was the perfect start to give us a chance to get to know Pippa and Malcolm, both of whom are fabulous characters.

Pippa has been running and hiding for years and even though she’s at first terrified of Malcolm, she quickly finds herself trusting him. I will admit that he won her trust a little too fast for me, but the author made it work and hey…sometimes the heart just knows and overrides all of our other senses. While the chemistry between these two burns up the sheets, it’s Pippa’s strength that really caught my attention. This poor woman has been through so much. She’s seen things no person should have to endure or watch, yet she’s still kind of sweet, and gentle, and most importantly, compassionate. She’s also got this quiet strength to her that is easy for many to overlook, but she doesn’t let them and I really admired the character for that only.

Malcolm is a cop who is burned out and looking to simply escape. Too bad life won’t let him, which is probably a good thing given Pippa’s situation. Two things I really liked about Malcolm: his faith in Pippa and his protective streak, which extended beyond her and showed us his true character.

The storyline was full of twists, turns, and moments that kept the page turning as well as a few spots that made you laugh. A perfect combination.

There were other great secondary characters that are going to make this an interesting series, especially Wolfe. And I dare you not to fall in love with Roscoe who is the coolest and most unique dog I’ve ever seen.

I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes romantic suspense, special ops or books with great characters and unique storylines.

Malcolm is the uber undercover cop. But he has burned himself out and after some soul searching decides to buy a house. But when he moves in next door to Pippa, he finds a female scared of her own shadow and with a very big secret. Pity he also finds her delectable!

West is also approached by an FBI agent with a job offer, one which he intrigued by until he realises that the job includes investigating Pippa. That perfect house listing was made just to entice him it seems! He has a gut feeling that Pippa isn't involved but there are some things he has to uncover to make him 100%.

Poor Pippa! She managed to distances herself from her crazy past and a mother...well lest said soonest found out on that little matter! I loved how she tried to extend her rather hermit like existence but also traps herself within her own house, she is a bit of an enigma! She feels strangely at ease with the huge male next door, even when she does find out what he used to do for a living.

The fast paced storyline sucked me into the world really quickly and I enjoyed meeting the characters. Would I have enjoyed more will-they-won't-they between Pippa and Malcolm? Sure I would but I still enjoyed the story and learning all about Pippa's childhood. Looking to enjoy more from this series soon!

Hidden is the first book in Rebecca Zanetti's new Deep Ops series. Former detective Malcolm West has moved next door to a recluse. Pippa, hiding from her past, has become so afraid that while she can leave her home, she suffers from panic attacks. Now Malcolm is recruited to join a secret government agency, and one of the people their investigating? His new neighbor.

I liked Pippa and Malcolm together. Both are keeping secrets from one another, but they both slowly reveal small truths to one another as trust builds between them. Their romance isn't rushed, nor is it lost amid everything else that was going on.

The suspense is great, the good guys are good although a bit odd, and the bad guys are creepy. Readers are introduced to all the members of Malcolm's new team, and I'm looking forward to reading more about them. I'm also looking forward to seeing more of Roscoe, the alcoholic, high heeled wearing dog that belongs to Angus Force, the leader of Malcolm's team. He definitely provided some laugh out loud moments.

If you haven't read a book by this author before, there's no better time to start. In my opinion, there are few authors who write romantic suspense as well as Rebecca Zanetti does. Her characters are always well-written, and the suspense keeps readers on the edge of their seats, wondering what's going to happen next. And amongst all that, she's still able to make the romance between the characters feel believable.

Story was okay, lots of twists and turns but I didn't like any of the characters at all. A drunk dogs, a bunch of overly dramatic feds and an insipid cult leader...boring! And pleas be warned that there is tons of raunchy sex scenes throughout...not my cup of tea.

Pippa ran away from her life the day before she turned eighteen. The day before she was supposed to marry the Profit. Seven years she's spent running and hiding. They'd tried to bring her back once, since then she's avoided people and anywhere there could be a camera. She knew hiding wasn't living, but anything was better than going back to the family.

Malcolm was an undercover cop and after his last job he retired to a small country house in the middle of nowhere. His only neighbor was Pippa. He thought it was perfect. Turned out to be a setup. He was too good at being undercover for someone not to want him, but he was torn about doing it again. That is until he realized he had feelings for his adorable neighbor and wanted to prove her innocence; then he was all in.

Not knowing who to trust Pippa ventures into opening up to Malcolm, but when she wants to tell him everything she's been hiding she discovers everything has been a lie. He wasn't as retired as he'd claimed to be and apparently he was undercover...with her.

Malcolm may have been doing his job, but his feelings for Pippa were real. All he had to do was prove it to her, keep her safe, and save a bunch of innocent people in the process.

The family is a bunch of insane cult people all wanting to please their Profit. They're all about sex, drugs, and reigning holy fire on the impure.

Hidden is on the edge of your seat suspenseful, throw me down on the kitchen table and spank my ass kind of hot, and high heel wearing German shepherd kind of hilarious. It's for sure a captivating page turner! And after the little preview of Deep Ops #2 in the back I am definitely excited to see what comes next.

Malcolm and Pippa just wanted live quietly on their own little dead end street. Mal was trying to adjust to leaving the force after his last undercover assignment and Pippa was trying to stay hidden from people out to get her from her past. As Pippa watches Mal move in next door, something about him just draws her to him. Mal is approached by the head of a new Homeland department to get close to Pippa but he refuses. Once he meets Pippa, he is convinced that she is innocent and is determined to prove it so he agrees to go undercover once again.

On the edge of your seat suspense and off the charts chemistry. Start of a great new series.

After reading the Sin Brothers series and it's subsequent spinoff series, I was very excited to see Rebecca Zanetti starting off a new suspense series. And this book did not disappoint me in the least! This Dark Ops series promises to be a great series if this first book is any indication. Malcolm and his band of misfit, slightly disgraced heroes are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to solving a case.
Pippa has been on the run for years trying to escape a cult leader who believes she is the chosen one. The one to not only marry him, but also participate in the cleansing of society. Whether she is a willing participant matters not. Malcolm is assigned to investigate both the cult and Pippa but feelings get in the way before he finds out whether or not she is innocent.
This was a very enjoyable read and I have to say I can't wait for more in this series. Absolutely loved the personalities of Roscoe, Wolfe and the others in the unit. I mean even the dog has issues to work out before he can return to work (probably means he should stop wearing high heels around the office or cut back on the whiskey). All around a great read!

Pippa has worked tirelessly over the years trying to hide from the world and keep her true identity a secret. Her secret life has been in order but her run-in with her new neighbor and his anxiety attack in the middle of the night has her opening more than just her triple locked front door to him.

Malcom West's last undercover assignment has left him with an endless string of consequences and nightmares. Thinking he's finally found the right house in middle of nowhere, Virginia, he's shocked to find he's stumbled into a new undercover op, just for him. Angus Force, brilliant FBI profiler, has handpicked Mal to join his new team in tackling tough cases. Mal soon finds himself digging more into Pippa's past and trying to keep his many roles a secret from the woman he's falling head over heels in love with.

Zanetti has another hit series on her hands. She has crafted intriguing, contemporary characters the reader is instantly drawn to and wants to know more about. While this book focused on Malcom and Pippa, some of Mal's team member steal the show and leaves the reader wanting to know more. Angus Force's dog and his quirky personality is the icing on the cake.

Hidden was an enjoyable start to a new series by Rebecca Zanetti. Pippa is a recluse who is running from her past and Mal is a burnt out former undercover detective. Unknown influences finds Mal buying the home next door to Pippa. Their connection is instant and there are lots of steamy times. I loved all the characters introduced and I can't wait for their stories. I especially loved Roscoe. The concept of this story was really enjoyable and had lots of potential but unfortunately the execution didn't live up to that potential. I found the pacing so slow I was bored for most of the story and the ending while exciting was rushed. With my issues aside I think this is going to be a really good series and after the preview for book 2 I can't wait.

Okay, it’s no secret that I’ve loved everything I’ve read by this author but this book is definitely my favorite of them all. There is so much going on here and it’s got all the feels to go along with it. Once I started I couldn’t stop, and it’s not a short book.

I don’t want to give away a lot of the details because as the story unfolds and you learn all the little tidbits along the way it just pulls you further and further into this world of deep ops and secrets.
Pippa is living the life of a shut in when she first sees her new neighbor unloading boxes from his truck. She’s pretty much living her life in fear and he only exacerbates them, causing her to have a panic attack. However, she slowly begins to allow herself to open to him without revealing any real truth regarding her background. Soon she’s hot and heavy with the ex-cop and accepting everything he says as truth.

Malcolm suffers from PTSD after living a life of lies during an undercover operation. He’s never had anyone solid in his life before and finds it difficult to trust. Especially when he’s offered a new job. When the woman next door gets all tangled in his life he finds himself once again not really sure who he is anymore.

I really liked both of these characters. They were flawed but real and in the midst of all the drama surrounding them they struggle to do the right thing even when trusting each other is the hardest thing they’ve ever done. I loved watching Pippa morph from the frightened woman hiding in her home into one that took a stand against the thing that had terrified her for most of her life.
Malcolm was perfect in his need to protect her and his struggle to give her what she needed.

This has a lot of action as Malcolm and the team he’s recently signed on to work a case. The Requisition Force team was amazing! I can’t wait for you to meet them as they each have their own quirky personalities. Roscoe by far was the most entertaining. Truly, I’ve never read another character with such hilarious idiosyncrasies. And Wolfe is one I’m going to absolutely LOVE watching as the series progresses. I’m just completely gone over all of this unit’s members and they aren’t all just men either. Even the women have me curious to see what they might pull in the future.

I can’t recommend this book enough, especially if you like romantic suspense that is equal in both the romance and the suspense neither overshadowing the other.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Kensington Books. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I could not stop reading this book once I picked it up. Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti is a great story fast-paced with interesting characters and a solid storyline that has you wanting to read more. I love Pippa's quiet strength and the Mystery regarding her past. Malcolm is the strong silent type that has you rooting for him. I look forward to reading more about the characters and the whiskey loving pet.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
Hidden is the first book in Mrs. Zanetti’s new Deep Op’s Series. This was a good start to a new series. I enjoyed the world that Mrs. Zanetti build with a bunch of rejected hero’s who are being a given a second chance. A second chance at a career, a second chance at a family and possibly a second chance at love.

I really enjoyed Malcolm and Pippa’s story. It was a little fast but you can’t fight love. And all the other characters are great! I really loved Roscoe. Who is Roscoe only the coolest dog ever (that has some very interesting quirks *wink, wink*). And the little kitten owned by Wolfe (I can’t wait to see this kitty’s personality grow).

I am already looking forward to the next installment in this series!!!!

In this first of a romantic suspense series called Deep Ops, a young woman named Pippa has spent the last several years running from the cult she was raised in. Living life on the run, Pippa has learned to trust no one except another ex-member who left at the same time. She has come under the scrutiny of a new type of Homeland Defense unit formed of government men and an former undercover cop, Malcom West. Mal is recovering from his last assignment physically and mentally. He never wants to do that kind of work again, but is reluctantly recruited to find out if Pippa is part of her former cult’s plan to do something horrific.

Mal falls in with an interesting assortment of what one might call rejects for various missteps in their previous jobs led by an ex FBI profiler, Angus Force. All of the members had issues with the law enforcement agencies they were a part of prior to this new group. Even the pets connected to this group seem oddly left of center, their mascot of sorts a dog, Roscoe, in particular is quite a character.

Mal and Pippa both are much damaged people who come together in a stressful situation, but find something that gives the both a sense that life can go forward and joy is to be found. First, however, there are some difficult situations to deal with including Mal doing double duty infiltrating the cult group and its charismatic leader as well as getting in deep with Pippa.

This story contains a lot of tense moments and fraught situations. Explosive would be a good word to describe this book from start to finish. I would say there is more suspense than romance, but I like Mal and Pippa as a couple. They just don’t really have a lot time together because everything happens fairly quickly. Other characters’ potential relationships are set up in this first book. I am interested after reading this first one to go forward to the next.

Honestly this author can do no wrong and here she is again with a new series that starts strongly. Malcolm just wants space and the opportunity to finally be just himself and not an undercover cop. What he hadn't expected was to move next door to a young woman with connections to what appears to be a very dangerous cult. Is Pippa really as innocent as she seems or has Malcolm discovered a ticking time bomb ?
This the first book introduces characters that on paper seemingly have little in common yet actually do seem to need each other. Reading this whilst very engaging as a story had me desperate to know more about the supporting characters. A profiler is setting up this new team and clearly they all have different strengths. The romance sizzles without a doubt and the suspense plays out very well yet the author totally surprised me with humorous moments that had me chucking. I'm very excited to see what will happen next but do stress that this book works extremely well as a standalone so dive in and enjoy the ride.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

This is another wonderful book by Rebecca Zanetti. She does a great job of creating interesting and well developed characters. The best character though, was not a person but the dog Roscoe. The story line is engaging and makes you want to keep reading until the end. I can't wait for the other books in the series.

Zanetti never fails to entertain with her unique characters and this new book is a great start to a new series. While I loved Malcolm and Pippa, my favorite character was Roscoe, the dog. His personality will have you laughing all the while enjoying the suspense that Zanetti is so great at building. Can't wait to see who's going to be in the next book in this series!

Running from the cult her mother took her to at the age of 9 Pippa is all but a recluse. Her new neighbor Malcolm just wants to be left alone until he sees Pippa in the window watching him. Malcom is trying to recover from his last undercover job when Angus shows up and offers Malcom a job. The more he gets to know Pippa the more he hates what Angus wants from him but is Pippa telling the truth or is everything they tell each other just one big lie. I received an ARC copy from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review. Love Rebecca Zanetti her stories will keep you on the edge of your seat.

What a phenomenal book, I loved every page of this book. With all the mystery and twists and turns I definitely did not lose interest. This has been one of the best books I have read all year. I truly loved Pippa and Malcolm, as well as, all the other characters. This is a MUST read and I can't wait for the next book.

I love this start to a new series (and the sneak peak of the next book). The pace, subject of the story, and engaging characters all blended together to make a perfect story. I absolutely loved Pippa. She's vulnerable, strong, kind, and very engaging. Malcolm was a great compliment to her character. I wasn't quite sure about the introduction of the others in their task force, but by the end, I was ready for each of their stories.
