It's Christmas time at Swissman Sweets and Bailey is very excited to be spending her first Amish Christmas with her grandmother until her ex walks in bringing all sorts of disaster which is of course compounded with a dead body in the middle of the Christmas Market on the town square! The characters are wonderful with well thought out personalities added to entertaining plots with twists galore and you have a fabulous read for the afternoon! I can not wait to see what happens in the next book!

This is the 3rd installment of the Amish Candy Shop mystery series and although Bailey King is settling into Harvest Ohio she is beginning to think her Grandmother doesn’t really need her especially after Charlotte (from the last book) has moved in with them and is helping at the Candy shop. Just as they are all preparing for the Christmas Harvest pageant and festival Bailey’s ex and celebrity chef Eric Sharp shows up with his entire TV production crew to film a Christmas special. Of course, the twist is to get Bailey in the special and make Eric more “likeable” to his audience. Bailey nixes the idea of appearing to get back together on the show but agrees to talk to Eric’s producer Rocky early the next morning. Bailey finds Rocky dead the next morning in the gazebo and Eric is holding a string of lights that wrapped around Rocky’s neck. Of course, Eric is a suspect and although Bailey is not Eric’s biggest fan she believes him when he said he did not do it. Cass flies in from New York to help Bailey out. Aiden is confused if Bailey still has feeling for Eric and lots of fun with Juliet and Jethro (her pet pig).. Juliet wants to make Jethro a star etc.. and Aiden, Bailey and Cass are trying to figure out who murdered Rocky. This was a fast paced and great mystery with lots of red herrings before you can figure out who really committed the crime. Amanda Flower is an automatic buy for me these days. She is the best. Looking forward to the next installment to see where this goes.

It’s Bailey King’s first Christmas in the Amish town of Harvest, Ohio . After leaving New York City and her ex behind to help her Grandmother run the family candy shop, Bailey has settled into her new life and has plans for both the family business and her love life. Then her ex shows up on her doorstep with a filming crew with plans of his own.

While blindsided by Eric’s arrival and his expectation for her to participate in the filming of his show, Bailey can’t let him take the rap when his producer is found murdered.

The story is well written and moves at a good pace. The characters are well developed and clues are left along the way for you to guess at who the murderer is, but you really don’t truly know who and why until closer to the end.

I look forward to reading the new books in this series and Amanda Flower does not disappoint. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

I liked this book. In the beginning there was a lot of repetition but after that the story was more interesting. I liked the characters, they are very realistic people. I didn't like Eric, he seems to be whiny but I'm interested in how the relationship of Bailey and Aiden turns out. #PremeditatedPeppermint #NetGalley

I must say this book was Fun to read! - I hadn't read the first two books in the series (now I want to) but I was able to pick right up on the story and not feel like I was lost trying to figure out what was happening. I love the characters in this book (especially Jethro) - There were some really fun situations in this book that made me laugh which is always a good thing. Plus trying to figure out and solve the murder was great fun. I like it when an author makes the characters easy to like and the story fun to read. That's exactly what Amanda Flower has done with this book. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

This is the third book in Flower’s “Amish Candy Shop Mystery” series, and it’s a welcome addition. Though part of a series, the book could be read as a standalone. Enough background detail is provided on the characters so that a new reader wouldn’t feel lost.

Bailey King left her prestigious job as a NYC chocolatier to work at her Amish grandparents’ candy shop in Ohio. She thought she left her ex-boyfriend Eric behind, so she’s surprised to see him show up at the shop, with grand plans to shoot a TV show. Plans change when a dead body (of the executive producer) is found, and Bailey finds Eric standing over the body. Deputy Sheriff Aiden, who happens to be Bailey’s new love interest, is investigating and would love to pin the murder on Eric. However, Bailey doesn’t believe he’s guilty … at least not of murder.

There is a nice mix of mystery, humor (a pet pig and even a camel), and romance—a little bit of something for everyone. I like the blend of Amish and non-Amish characters. There were a few times that things stalled a bit, but the pace picked up as the mystery unfolded. Characters are interesting and well-crafted, as is the storyline, which keeps the reader guessing. And the descriptions of the sweets (and even a recipe) … yummy! The cover ties things together. It’s exciting to know that a fourth book will be coming soon 😊

I really enjoyed this book. I feel like this series has hit its stride and is moving along well. Is it moving in the right direction? I have some doubts. The next book will hopefully tell us yes.

"Premeditated Peppermint", was not an easy book to "get into", unlike the other books in this series by Amanda Flower. This saddened me as I have really enjoyed other books by her in the Amish genre and in other genres. I tried numerous times to read further along and to finish the novel, and it was not easy to do. While i love the characters of Bailey, her grandma, cousin Charlotte, Adrian, his mother Julia, Juila's pig Jethro, and Bailey's friend Cass, "Premeditated Peppermint' did not seem to have a smooth flow to the story and it was not easy to follow.

I love this series and I liked this book even if it was slightly less good than the previous two.
The book starts slowly but when it gets going it’s a real page turner. I loved the plot and it kept me guessing till the end.
I was happy to meet again the lovely cast of characters and look foward to reading the next instalment.
Recommended.
Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this arc.

Amanda Flower is one of my favorite authors and I love this particular series.
The Amish candy shop is described with such familiarity, I can smell the delectable delights that Bailey and her grandmother are creating.
This is an exciting addition to the series and I was captivated by the way the author told such a convincing story.

I volunteered to read and review an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

Another installment of the Amish Candy Shop mysteries. Bailey has been having a wonderful time preparing for Harvest's holiday market, where she will be selling all manner of peppermint treats made by Swissmen Sweets. But when her ex shows up and begs her to feature in his new show, which is centered around her and her business, the candy isn't the only thing liable to boil over. Then there's the little matter of a murder occurring in the gazebo in the center of town.

I enjoyed this next book in the series but I found it a little annoying, or at least I found a couple of the characters annoying. I found Juliet really grating and disrespectful in this one, as I also found Cass, Bailey's best friend. But it was still a really enjoyable read overall and I'm glad I had a chance to take another trip to Harvest for the holiday season.

Leave it to Amanda Flower to write the perfect Christmas Cozy Murder Mystery! She takes us back to fictitious Harvest OH and Swissman Sweets where Bailey's ex boyfriend shows up in town! To complicate matters he is found standing over the dead body of his TV producer girlfriend in the town square before the opening of the seasonal Christmas Market. Bailey jumps in to help solve the crime along with her best friend Cass and Jethro the pig! It's loaded with laughs, missteps, and a little romance! A perfect holiday read!

Amanda Flower has become my favorite mystery writer. Her books do what books are supposed to do and that is to get you lost in another world and enjoy it. She definitely does not disappoint with Premeditated Peppermint. The story continues as Bailey is still in Harvest, OH and Christmas is upon her. Out of the blue, Bailey's ex-boyfriend, Eric, shows up with a production crew in tow. Eric's production manager, Rocky, is planning to film Christmas in the Amish country with Eric reuniting with Bailey. Of course, this is all news to Bailey and things take off from there. Rocky is found murdered the next morning and there are plenty of viable suspects throughout the story.
The romantic twist is there with Aidan, the deputy sheriff, and Bailey still trying to figure out their relationship and where they want to take it.
The plot is fast-paced and well written. To me, a good mystery is when you cannot solve it and you keep guessing who is the most likely suspect and that is Premeditated Peppermint. Pick it up and get lost in a great mystery.

I received this ARC via Netgalley & Kensington in return for an honest review. This review can also be found on Goodreads.

I love the cover, it's very inviting. This is the first book I've read from this series. Bailey moved back to Holmes County, Ohio to assist in her family's chocolate store after her grandfather's demise. Her old flame descends upon the town, uninvited, shoot an episode of his show. Mayhem ensues when Bailey discovers a body. I like the story line and the characters.

Bailey is finally settling in to her life in Harvest, Ohio, helping her Amish grandmother run the family candy store. Then her past swoops in, bringing chaos and murder into her life. I absolutely love this series, and this book was almost perfect. The only issue I had was with Bailey herself. She seems unable to say no to anyone, and it is a little bit annoying at times. Other than that, I loved the mystery, and that a certain romance starts to bloom. I would recommend this book, and can't wait for the next.

Premeditated Peppermint is the third book in the An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.

Another wonderful addition to his this delicious series.

Bailey, her grandmother, and Charlotte are busy making Peppermint Bark and other different types of peppermint candies as they prepare for the Harvest(OH) Christmas Market. The last person she wants or expects to see walks through the door at Swissmen Sweets. That would be Eric Sharp, Bailey’s former boyfriend, and celebrity chef. He claims that he wants to see what an Amish Christmas Holiday in the country is like. He plans to film his time in Harvest and to air on his cooking show. Eric’s real reason is that he wants to win Bailey’s heart back. Bailey has no intention of getting back with him and if they won’t take out the romantic link in the filming there will be no show at all. Rocky Rivers, the show’s executive producer, asks Bailey to meet her at the gazebo across from Swissmen Sweets the next morning to discuss what Bailey is willing to go along with. The next morning as Bailey is approaching the gazebo she notices that a string of lights decorating the gazebo has come loose, but then when she looks into the gazebo she sees the body of Rocky, with a string of lights wrapped around her throat and Eric standing over her lifeless body. Eric swears that he didn’t kill her and pleads for her help in finding the murderer. Bailey reluctantly agrees, but not so much to clear Eric’s name but to find the killer or Rocky as she thinks they could have become good friends.

As Bailey begin to look into the murder, she has to admit to herself that Eric certainly looks likely, but she also learns that Rocky was one to do whatever was needed to get what she wanted. She soon learns that Josie, the make-up girl had a loud argument with Rocky the night before her death. Also, the owner of the Keim Christmas Tree Farm, Thad Keim is making it difficult to locate, what might he be hiding.

This is another well-told and plotted story from Ms. Flower. Most all of the regular characters are back. Margot Rawlings is back and once again making life difficult for Bailey. Juliet Brody and her pot-belly pig, Jethro, are back and giving quite a few chuckles. And of course, Aiden Brody is busy policing the streets of Harvest and the romantic interest in Bailey is going smoothly.

Recipes are also included with the book.

I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this sweet series.

Premeditated Peppermint is the third installment in Amanda Flower’s An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. This is an easy to read confectionery cozy set in the Ohio Amish country, with great characters and an interesting and entertaining mystery. The story flows smoothly and the author is very talented in her descriptive and witty writing. This well plotted mystery was difficult to solve, with multiple suspects and plenty of clues to sift through. I was surprised when the culprit was revealed.

Bailey King gave up her job as an assistant chocolatier at JP Chocolates in New York City to move to Harvest, Ohio to help her Amish grandmother after her grandfather passed away. Bailey isn’t Amish, but her father, who left the Amish community before she was born, was. As a child, Bailey always spent the summer with her grandparents, Jebediah and Clara King, and learned to love chocolates in their Amish candy shop, Swissmen Sweets. Juliet Brody, who has a white polka-dotted potbellied pig named Jethro, is still convinced her son, Aiden and Bailey will someday marry. Clara, her young Amish cousin, Charlotte, and Bailey are making lots of different peppermint treats for the Harvest Christmas Market. The event organizer, Margot Rawlings, has arranged for a live nativity scene, including a camel. Eric Sharp, a celebrity chef and Bailey’s ex-boyfriend shows up unannounced with a TV crew to film an Amish Christmas special for his reality baking show and hoping to rekindle his relationship with Bailey. She doesn’t want have anything to do with him on a personal level, but she does see the value of the publicity the show for Swissmen Sweets. Being on television isn’t something accepted by the Amish community and filming couldn’t be done without the approval of her Maami since it’s her shop and her Maami’s Amish district, bishop, and deacon, which Bailey suspected wouldn’t happen. Bailey’s best friend, Cassandra “Cass” Calbera, travels to Ohio from New York to offer support. Bailey was on her way to meet with Rocky Rivers, the executive producer, to discuss filming inside Swissmen Sweets and confirm that Eric and her rekindling anything wasn’t even a remote possibility when she notices the gazebo’s blue and white twinkle lights were drooping from the eaves. Thinking she can fix the lights, Bailey enters the gazebo and discovers Rocky’s body in the middle of the gazebo with the strand of lights wrapped around her neck and Eric standing over her. Eric knows he looks guilty and begs Bailey to help him clear his name. Eric becomes the prime suspect, but Bailey believes he’s innocent because he’d never do anything to jeopardize his career. Bailey and Cass ask questions and snoop around and Bailey finds herself in harm’s way.

I received this ARC via Netgalley in return for an honest review. Great heroine (Bailey King); great setting of a small Amish town in which Bailey comes to live with her grandmother and run the family chocolate shop. This is the second in a series and you don't need to have read the first one to enjoy this book. It's well written; the characters are well developed. You learn a good bit, while Bailey solves the murder, about the Amish community and chocolate making. Bailey's ex turns up and wants her shop to star in his new food tv show and he assumes that Bailey and her Amish grandmother will think this is a great idea. Not so fast. Bailey has the beginnings of a relationship with the local Deputy Sheriff and the ex's return also causes challenges with that. It's a good cosy and I'll look for more books by this author. Her next is set in NYC, where she and her Amish cousin go for work - hmmm, that's a great combination, isn't it?
