Glamping entrepreneur rekindling her first love with an ex-Army engineer? While they build things for her RV park and get dirty in the process? Sign me up!

Katie (or Katherine, as she fancies herself these days) comes home when she unexpetedly inherits not only a massive chunk of land but also quite a lot of money from a distant relative. Leaving her steady librarian job behind, she decides to invest and set up a RV park perfect for glamping. Half-renovated trailers are a lot of work so even if she is determined to do it all by herself, a helpful set of hands seems like a good idea. Until, that is, it turns out those will belong to her old crush, her first love named Alex who left for the Army a decade ago thus breaking her heart.

Sadly, this was underwhelming. I’m not entirely sure what is to fault for that. It probably was a combination of things. First of all, the writing style was very matter-of-fact and while it worked for the beginning of this novel as a way to establish facts and ground the story, it stopped working when romance was concerned. Whenever longing looks were exchanged and sparks were supposed to fly, it just didn’t work and it read dull. That’s a real bummer because if there is a genre that is supposed to deliver the ‘ohhh’s’ and ‘ahhhh’s’, it’s romance. Instead, the delivery fell flat and I had a hard time believing the irresistableness of it all. Secondly, it kind of took a while for anything to happen and while I wouldn’t normally mind the slow burn (because slow burn romance DONE RIGHT is where it’s at!) but when a book isn’t even 300 pages long, then slow burns of any sort should be redefined. And thirdly, whenever it’s a story of second chances and that was the case here, shouldn’t there be an explanation for whatever went wrong the first time around? Meanwhile, I never learned why exactly Alex left for the Army. Why did he have to break Katie’s heart? Why was the Army more important than being with her IF the feelings were so intense that a decade later a couple of weeks sufficed for them to rekindle the romance? I needed answers. The character’s assurances that ‘he wasn’t going anywhere’ didn’t mean much to me, under the circumstances, seeing as he did come back home because he suffered a life-threatning accident and his leg would prevent him from active duty. He wasn’t really giving up anything. She uprooted her life to come to this small town and build something from scratch, yet he was there because life spitted him out, in a way. Not because he actively chose to come back.
At the end of the day it was underwhelming to me because it screamed of convenience. I didn’t want another ultimatum but I would have liked for Alex to resign from active duty instead of being forced out not on his own accord.

I feel bad for not enjoying this story as much as fellow readers whose reviews I saw seem to have enjoyed it. I saw a lot of 4-star ratings but I guess it just wasn’t for me. This story should have had stakes and it didn’t. Ultimately it read like a Lifetime movie on paper, one where not much happens, the characters fail to impress you, everything is mildly annoying and underwhelming and once you hit that 70% mark you just want it to end.

Unfortunately „Hometown Girl Again” didn’t hit the mark with me. I won’t remember it down the line as it will blur with all the other unimpressive reads.

**massive thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for providing an arc in exchange for a fair and honest review**

I really enjoyed this story. I liked how self-contained it was, as it's part of a companion series and this was my first read into the series. I liked how each character was developed and their shared history was hinted at but wasn’t unloaded all at once. I liked seeing a strong female lead, a pensive male lead, and the unique situation that brought them together again.

The romance was a slow burn with friendly sweetness and I liked that rather than seeing detailed sex and intimacy. I liked and appreciated the characters being a bit older, more established adults, and seeing their conflict between wanting what they used to have and knowing that they both have to start over in many ways.

I loved the premise of this book. A good read but the grammatical errors were very distracting to me. I hope that the issues were caught before publication.

Hometown Girl Again, is charming, heartwarming, and cute. The story worked for me and the characters are believable and seem like people I would want to spend time with in real life. This book is a quick read and held my interest. Although this is book 5 in the series, it's great as a stand alone. Thank you netglley for the arc of this book, the review is my opinion

This book was so great. The characters were relatable and I was sympathetic to their personal issues. I love the Kirsten Fullmer's ability to create characters that are not only engaging but ones that you find yourself wishing were in your everyday life. The story is unique and well-written

While this is the fifth book in a series, I had no problem reading it as a stand-alone novel. Not a 'serious' read, this is a fun romance bringing together former lovebirds when they work on a common project.

Although it took a bit of time to get into the book, I did think this was a fun read! Once I was focused, I found that it was quite entertaining. Thinking that I will be interested in reading more from this author in the future.

How did I end up so broken? It’s a question Katherine can’t answer. First, a surprise inheritance tipped her life upside-down, and now her new RV park is a muddy mess of half-restored trailers. To make matters worse, she’s falling for her first crush all over again. The only thing she’s sure of at this point is a full-blown identity crisis.

Alex came home after a life-threatening wound ended his Army career. Now Katie is back too, and she’s building something called a glamping park? He feels like he let her down years ago, can he make it up to her now? Or are his own problems too much to handle?

Fate brought Katherine and Alex back to Smithville, and the town-folk want to see them together again. Will the couple be able to cope with the locals well-intentioned meddling, or did their chance at love disappear a long time ago...

I thought this was a fun and quick read. I got to know about RV Parks and what it takes to restore all the old Rvs from the 40's, 50's and 60's. Katie and Alex had a love affair the summer they graduated and then he broke up with her to join the Army. She left town and her mother had died. Katie had turned into a hermit and not having friends. So when her uncle passed away and she found out about the inheritance then she moved back to town. Only to run into Alex again. Watching these 2 struggle with their emotions was heartbreaking at times as you knew they still cared about each other.

Another great read that I really enjoyed it was funny and enjoyable read and I would totally recommend reading it was intriguing and suspenseful

This book is overall a cute read. It falls into a few traps I see fairly often in the romance genre, like a leading lady who has been so damaged by life that the only physical relationship she has ever had has been with the leading man with a gap of at least a decade between the first dalliance and the ones current in the book.

while I'm not the biggest fan of the "female character deals with trauma by shutting herself off from love" trope, this book is pretty darn cute. The leading lady decided to open up a tourist attraction with redone old-school RV's for 'glamping' and seems to be pretty handy. The leading man is dealing with his own issues and this book is a really nice slow burn.

It was a quick easy read.

This was a fun book. It took a bit of time to get into the book, however, once that I did it was entertaining. Looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I like the background story of the trailers and the park. But I did not feel anything for the main characters. They just did not grab me. I found them whinny and unlovable. I think the book is worth reading just for the trailers and the town.

Enjoyable read with some interesting characters. There were some times like it felt the book had skipped, and I wondered if I had missed something, for example when they were in the caravan about to watch a dvd, and then suddenly the next chapter jumped to another scene and I wasn't sure what had actually happened.
First I have read in this series, but looking forward to going backand reading the other books,

Hometown girl again⭐️
Story wise this is the fifth book in the series and I didnt know that when I requested it so my opinion for the plot and characters is slightly useless.
On the other hand, the writing was nice and easy to read. Even though I was confused about past events that happened the story flowed nicey and I was able to follow along.

Thank you so much to netgalley for sending me an ARC copy of Hometown girl again by kiresten Fullmer This will be released on July 10,2018

Every once in a while, I seek out a story on finding oneself. This is such a story, for with the lead characters, Katherine and Alex, you learn that we are never too broken to be unworthy of love, and that there's always a place we can call home just as long as we open our hearts to receiving and giving love.
If you also love reading about meddling neighbors, then be my guest- this book's got a bunch of them. It's also got an adorable dog to boot. Thanks NetGalley for the eARC.
