Mia has it all planned out, her best friend Robyn needs to set her up with her crush Vince. It's clear that they're a match. According to Mia, they have the same drive and have plans to make it. She won't take no for an answer, even when Robyn tells her there are reasons for her matchmaking!

If I'm really honest, Mia annoyed me in the beginning. She was very focused on superficial things. Vince was great because he looked good, played sports and cared about school. Those are the only things that really matter to her. I thought she was rather selfish to take matters in her own hands behind her best friend's back.

Other than that, this was such a fast and fun read! There are a lof of moments filled with humor, typical teenage drama and embarassing things that anyone can relate to! Logan was my favorite character. He was so down to earth and really himself (it felt that way anyways) and just felt really sincere.

Even though once Logan enters the picture, it's pretty clear how this story is going to end! While I don't mind a good contemporary being predictable, the ending was just a bit too obvious really early on in the book! Her best friend Robyn was also a lot of fun, getting Mia back in her own way! I would've liked to have seen more of her and her matchmaking during this story.

I also loved the parts of Mia being interested in the newspaper and journalism! I kind of wish getting more of that, including Logan who took photographs. Mia was just a little too focused on her romantic life. I know, teenagers can be that way, but in a book it's nice to get more of an idea of their lives.

All in all, I loved how everything turned out and how much Mia learns about herself. I think in many ways she was just afraid to let herself feel and maybe not know how things will end. Match Me if You Can is filled with learning about what you want, friendships and that love can come from places you least expect!

First impressions of Mia made me think of a younger Bridget Jones. Mia is a bit clumsy and fumbling, so it made her a more real and relatable character to begin with.

I noticed on Goodreads that the book is a re-telling of A Midsummer Night's Dream which becomes more apparent towards the middle of the book when certain relationships begin to entwine and clash.

Whilst the plot is super predictable and full of rom-com style clichés, the writing did keep me engaged throughout the story.

My favourite thing about this whole book is Logan, who I love. He's sweet, supportive, funny, flirty and heartfelt, and I can't get enough of his scenes.

I did have a few problems with Mia's character. To me, she seemed quite shallow and a little vapid, she's constantly ignoring the very obvious truth, as well as her own feelings, and I felt as though I was several steps ahead of her throughout the entire book.

The drama also irked me a little as it just seemed a tad over the top and unnecessary but it did fuel the plot, and kept the pace moving quickly.

The romance was very sweet but I don't want to go into too much detail and ruin the particulars for you, so all I'll say is that this book is a very light, fun and fluffy read, perfect for fans of quick-paced teen rom-coms.

3.5 stars. I have to say I am a tad bit disappointed in this one. Based on the synopsis it was tailor made to what I look for in a YA romance. Unfortunately, it fell a little flat. Robyn, Mia and Elena (the main characters) often felt stiff and their motivations were constantly changing. I like how the author set up the initial plot but found that it got weaker as the story went on. There were just a lot of plot and character issues in my opinion to warrant a higher rating. Teens will more than likely enjoy this story due to the overall plot so I still plan on ordering it for my school library. Even though this reading experience wasn't my favorite I would still pick up another book by this author!

Such a fun story! Tiana Smith does a great job creating realistic teens experiencing actual high school things. My students will immediately identify with Mia and wish they had a friend like Robyn. Thanks for letting me read early.

This was a cute book, and the author did a nice job with the romantic tension between Mia and Logan. The setup for the conflict, where Mia is torn between two boys and has created a situation where she really needs to try to work it out with the boy she's chosen (Vince) was great. It was--at first--very believable.

However, as a reader, I had two problems with the book. First, it was never really clear why Mia liked Vince. I felt like the author was trying to set up a situation where the reader was rooting for Logan, but as a result, it was hard to understand what Mia was seeing in Vince, and thus, hard to understand Mia. Second, as the book went on it was hard not to be aggravated at Mia because the right choice was SO obvious to the reader. If that had just gone on for a bit, like half the book, it would have been great. However, it was hard to keep rooting for a character who just couldn't get out of her own way. Overall it was a cute book, but a bit of a frustrating read.

Mia decides to take things into her own hands by manipulating her best friend Robyn’s matchmaking service to ensure that Vince asks her out for the dance.

Mia ultimately gets what she wants, but is it REALLY what she wants? See, there’s this other guy, Logan, who Mia would never look at twice in a million years because he is sooo not her type. But there’s something about Logan’s in your face charm and free-spirited, creative ways that has Mia intrigued. If Vince is really the guy of her dreams, why is she feeling butterflies in her stomach every time she is around Logan?

Match Me If You Can by Tiana Smith is a cute and breezy Swoon Read (Swoon Reads are stories written by people like you and me, which are then voted on by readers - the most loved manuscripts get turned into published novels!) Featuring the classic YA trope - the love triangle - Match Me If You Can delves into a problem that many high school girls face - which guy to choose?

Smith does a great job of diving right into the story, and using the plot to move things along. While her lead character Mia is not the most likable of girls, she is nonetheless written like a real teenager. Too many times, YA authors write characters to behave and think like adults, but Smith’s Mia doesn’t exactly have everything all figured out. She wavers back and forth between two guys, spends an excessive amount of time wondering if they like her, frets over her appearance, gets in guy-related fights with her best friends, and spends an unhealthy amount of time staring at the phone. All typical teenage behaviors. It was refreshing to read a YA novel that doesn’t show a teenage character making better life decisions than I as an adult make!

While this novel isn’t going to have you pondering life’s greater mysteries or exploring the deep and dark corners of humanity, it is still a fun book to while away the hours. Match Me If You Can’s intended audience, teenagers, will love this story of matchmaking, love triangles, and catty best friends, and may just see a glimpse of themselves in these pages.

Match Me If You Can was such a cute Contemporary read. I’ve been reading a lot of Contemporary and Romance novels and this one was definitely one of the good ones! I really liked the story and the characters.

Match Me If You Can was so fast paced and I couldn’t get enough of the story. I really like love triangles and even though it was kinda obvious who Mia was going to end up with, it was still an amazing love triangle.

The only negative thing I have to say about this book is that Mia was a bit annoying. She was constantly nagging about one of the guys, and it was so annoying. That’s also the main reason why I gave this book 4 stars. But luckily Mia ended up with the right guy, and her being annoying, didn’t change the fact that I really liked this story.

Overall Match Me If You Can is an amazing Contemporary read if you’re into love triangles and looking for Mr Right. I cannot wait to read more books written by Tiana Smith!

What I Liked
Okay, this would make a perfect fun high school romcom movie! Mia is cute and earnest, and her complete and utter failure at picking the right guy definitely reminds me of some of the romantic disasters some of my friends got into in high school. Mia has a major crush on popular Vince, but Robyn insists they wouldn't be a good match, instead steering Mia toward goofy photographer Logan. Who among us didn't watch almost the exact same thing play out during high school? Fortunately, Mia is so sweet it's impossible not to be on her side, even when she's bumbling everything up. Watching her grow from the start to end of the book gave me warm fuzzies!

What I Would Have Liked to See
Sometimes Mia thought about abs a little too much. We all like abs, Mia. Focus on the mess you made!

My Favorite!
Robyn! She's the mom friend, the cool and collected presence standing on the sidelines facepalming whenever Mia makes a well-intentioned mess. Her insight and true caring for her friends makes me want to be friends with her!

TL;DR
Sweet high school romantic drama between one girl with good intentions and two boys who may or may not be her perfect homecoming match. Fast, fun read that will make you smile at the end!

Trying to buck her besties matchmaking system, Mia goes over her head to ensure at least one date with her crush, Vince. Looking good on paper doesn't necessarily translate to a love match, and Mia learned that the hard way.

Five things I loved

1. This was a hate-to-love romance, which is always pleasing for me. Although I feel like there was some history missing, I did enjoy the tension between Mia and Logan. I loved the way he was able to push her buttons to get her adorably flustered.

2. Mia's goal was to get a date to the homecoming dance, and apparently, this was a big deal at their school. Because of that, I was treated to a few fabulous grand-gesture type dance-posals, which delighted me.

3. There's a lot of rom-com in this this book. Mia really made a hot mess of everything, and it spilled out in a chain of high school hijinks, which were quite amusing.

4. I have no idea what was wrong with Mia, because I was #TeamLogan all the way. He came off as a real laidback guy without a care in the world, but he slowly reveals there is a lot more to him, than Mia originally thought. Aside from that, I found he was one of the more honest characters in the book, and he may have resorted to some subterfuge, but he still couldn't even fully commit to it. If that wasn't enough, those treehouse scenes and the way he interacted with his sister should have sold him as the top choice in this competition for Mia's heart.

5. I know you will see this book referred to as "fluffy", because it was a fun and light read, but it also explored the idea of looking beyond the surface and finding the real person underneath. Vince might have been Mr. Goldenboy, but Logan possessed many qualities, which he kept under wraps.

Overall: A charming, "fluffy" romance, which contained the perfect balance of humor, drama, and swoons.

Cute but a little trite and not for me. Some of the scenes were well for. But overall this just isn’t the style for me. The characters seemed to lack depth

Fans of Kasie West will enjoy this look at a teen matchmaker and her best friend, who really, really wants to be matched up with her crush.

I thought Match Me if you can was a very cute book. A girl's best friend owns a matchmaking business and has a flair of setting people up with their match but girl wants to land her crush. She tries to spend most of the book convincing her best friend why her crush is her match when her best friend thinks another guy is better suited for her.

There were some very funny moments, like when the main character was reading the morning announcement and had a typical high school embarrassing moment and other things like that.

I'd recommend this book for anybody who needs a fast, easy, cute read after the holiday blues kick in. This was a five star reading since I didn't find any faults or misgivings and it was an enjoyable weekend read during my Thanksgiving vacation.

This was a pretty typical YA novel. It lacked a little bit of build toward turning a love/hate relationship around. Still it had enough High School drama and emotions to keep me reading. Overall a light and cute book.

I could not keep characters apart from each other, and I didn't really care about the story enough to try. It was muddled and I never got pulled into the story.

Thank you net galley for the advance read copy of this novel. This was a contemporary YA romance. Much of the novel centers around main character,Mia, pining for a guy it turns out wasn't for her. This novel included your typical YA themes and predictable story lines but was enjoyable overall. I would recommend to readers of YA romances who like pleasant easy reads.

I completely devoured this book in one night. I could not seem to put it down! This is the type of book that you stay up late to finish reading, without even noticing how late it is because you are so absorbed in the story.

This book is a cute romance full of high school drama, heart break, and love. Mia thinks that she knows what she wants because it logically makes sense to her, but love is not always about logic. On one side you have Vince the hard working, soccer playing, golden boy and on the other side you have Logan the teasing, always late, photographer that seems to take nothing seriously. Follow Mia as she tries to figure out how to fix the mess that she has created and which guy is actually right for her.

Although there were some parts that were predictable it was still enjoyable. If you are looking for a quick read filled with love, drama, and forgiveness I highly recommend this book!

Super cute and fun romantic read about how sometimes we want what we don't realize we want and friends can get hurt along the way. I liked the story and the relationships but I wish the characters had just a little more depth. The romance was fun and it was a quick read that my students will enjoy!
