It was an okay read, I was expecting more of a wow factor, but it didn't happen.. I wasn't impressed with it honestly

This was a very sweet romance! Light, easy, and perfect for a summer beach read. Reading about Elle and Sawyer fall in love and get together was very enjoyable, and I really liked that they learned about and improved themselves along the way. There were a lot of steamy/smutty sex scenes, including phone sex and dirty texts. I didn't find them particularly scintillating, but I also didn't find them offensive.

I appreciated that Elle and Sawyer got their happily-ever-after and that the loose threads were wrapped up. The author did introduce a couple of characters in the novel and the final chapter makes it clear that they're the protagonists of her next book. I thought this was cute and well done - readers know who to look forward to next but aren't given a cliffhanger that minimizes the resolution of the current book.

My only criticism, and it's not a big one, is that some of the characters didn't ring particularly true for me - especially the men. Our male love interest, Sawyer, is far more in touch and open to discussing his feelings with his guy friend than any man I've ever met. He definitely reads more like a woman overall. The two sons also never really seem to fight with their parent or even each other, which didn't seem realistic to me.

I received an advance copy via NetGalley for this book, but it hasn't affected my opinion. This was my first experience with the author, Serena Bell. I'd read her again, although I probably wouldn't seek her out.

Sleepover is the love story of divorcee Elle and widower Sawyer. A one night stand comes back for more in this sweet story. The book was funny, emotional with lots of single parent sexiness in between. The writing style is not my favorite so I had a hard time fully immersing myself so that's why I gave it 4 chilli peppers of hotness!

Thanks NetGalley and Loveswept for the ARC!

This is my first book by Serena Bell and I loved it. I am already planning on going back and ready more by this author. The first time Sawyer and Elle meet they have a one night stand that was very memorable for both of them. We go forward a bit and guess what they are new neighbors and of course their sons become best friends. Try as they might they just cannot ignore each other. They are both trying to navigate through life. Elle dealing with being a single mom and trying to deal with her ex. Sawyer still trying to get over his wife who pasted away and at the same time being a single dad. There is this pull between them they try to ignore and just be friends for the sake of their kids. Eventually they give in to what they feel. This was just such a sweet, romantic and funny story. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fairly quick and easy read, with relatively low drama. The writing could use a little tightening up, there were times it was a little repetitive and overly descriptive, but overall it was well-written. I especially appreciated Bell’s treatment of tough issues; mainly death and adultery. I felt that all the characters were well-rounded and felt very real in how they dealt with their individual issues. The only character issues is that I would have liked to see Sawyer’s in-laws either less or more. They were introduced it seemed, to be a source of conflict, but that never fully panned out. I think either there should have been a confrontation/discussion with them about Sawyer and Elle’s relationship, or they shouldn’t have ever been introduced at all. Still, overall a good read, so if you’re a fan of contemporary romance and/or the single parent trope, be sure to check this one out.

Release date: November 13, 2018

Thank you to NetGalley for an early copy of this book.

Elle is working on getting over her divorce as a single parent of a nine year old son when her new next door neighbor moves in. Not only does he have her son’s new best friend but he is the one night stand she had right after her divorce. Sawyer is a really great guy whose wife died a few years ago. Will he be able to let another woman into his heart? This story will tug at your heartstrings all the way through.

I was immediately drawn into this cute second chance at love romance. These two single parents realize that they met before when they become neighbors. Their short, sexy, unforgettable moment lead these two back for more despite their reluctance to start a relationship.
The author does a great job with the dynamics of both Sawyer and Elle and their children. Both boys were adorably written. The author nailed the mind of 9 year old boys.

Their relationship didn't come without struggles but realizing that life is short they waste no time with love.

Sleep Over is GOOD, y'all! It has so much heart and it's sexy too! I am just a little more impressed by each story in this series and this one is my favorite so far.

Sleep Over centers around two single parents. Elle is a beautiful single mom whose ex-husband left her for his high school sweetheart, with whom he'd been having an affair (nasty sucker). Our hero, Sawyer, is a single dad too, but his wife, who was near perfect by all accounts, didn't choose to leave. Two years prior to the start of the story, she lost her battle with cancer. Elle and Sawyer both have boys, same age and grade. When Sawyer moves in next door, it's not the first time the single parents have met, but it might just be the nudge they both need.

This is a grown up story y'all and so good. It will likely be most appreciated by folks who've loved, lost or made a baby or two, though I have a hard time believing anyone can find fault with it regardless of your status.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review. If I say I liked it, it's because I really did. If I don't, I'll tell you that too, promise.

Single divorced Mom, Elle, is trying to put her life back together and part of that is finding her sexuality again. She decides a one night stand is exactly what she needs and finds in a hot encounter with Sawyer.

Sawyer is a widower afraid of anything more than one night only sex after losing his wife. Until a one night stand he can’t stop thinking about. When he rents a house for him and his son he’s surprised to see the woman he can’t get out of his head. Elle is his next door neighbor.

I loved the characters, the chemistry between them, and the growth of the characters. A fantastic, sweet, sexy, love story.

This book was a great solid 4-star book in my opinion. I devoured it in one sitting. Serena Bell is becoming a favourite author of mine, I truly do enjoy her books!
Sleepover was the second book I've read from Serena Bell, first being Head Over Heels <- which I loved. There were even a few appearances from the couple from Head Over Heels. (Don't worry, Sleepover is a total standalone novel!)

Recently divorced Elle is putting back the pieces of her heart after her ex-husband Trevor, decided to leave her for his college sweetheart. Elle was such a strong heroine and I just loved her. She had her world and confidence shattered when Trevor left but was still able to efficiently co-parent with her cheating bastard of an ex.

Widowed Sawyer is trying to be better for his son after the death of his wife. He's not interested in moving on and letting go of her ghost. Until he moves next door to his beautiful one night stand, Elle and her son. Elle's presence in his life is something he didn't know he needed until she was breaking down all of his walls, and forcing him to live again.

Sawyer and Elle's story was about healing, love and friendship. What more could you want in a Contemporary Romance novel?!?

Add this baby to your TBR shelf for its November 13th, 2018 release!

No redos! That is what Sawyer says about his one night stands. Elle she doesn't have them, until well that one time(damn her friends right). What a memorable night it was. Fast Forward a bit and look new neighbors. Shocker the new neighbor is of Course the hottie Sawyer from that amazing night they both can't forget. Now they both have sons who are suddenly best friends. Sawyer suddenly wants a redo(breaking the rules). He has ghosts he has to live with, Elle is trying to navigate her life. This was so good ,I enjoyed watching this unfold it wasn't overly complicated yet you still didn't know what would happen. Sexy ,fun and really enjoyable read. This was my first Serena Bell book and will not be my last. ARC provided by NetGalley for honest review

This was a cute, hot, easy romance. A bit of a slowburner, which I love. I quite enjoyed it. This is the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely be on the lookout for more.

3 1/2 Stars

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...

I loved this story and Sawyer was the ultimate swoon-worthy broken hero. Sawyer, Chase’s friend from Head Over Heels, is a single dad who trying to move on after the death of wife. Elle is recently divorced single mom trying to move from the betrayal of her former husband. The first encounter between these two was definitely interesting, however, I can guarantee the second time was a major shock.

The connection between Elle and Sawyer was intense and instant, but both have been traumatized by relationships in the past. I think Sawyer expressed it the best when he said they have PTSD when it comes to relationships and letting people into their lives. I didn’t want this book to end I loved Sawyer, Elle, Jonah, Madden and even the little turd Brooks (Sawyer’s brother).

I can NOT wait to see what waits for Brooks and Eve ;)

Review to be published online in late November.

I like Serena Bell’s voice quite a bit. She does the intricacies of a relationship better than most any other author I read. I’m also a sucker for ‘second chance at love’ stories; so this was a win-win for me. In SLEEPOVER, Elle and Sawyer are both picking up the pieces from a relationship and starting over. One is dealing with divorce and betrayal and the other with the death of a spouse. After they became neighbors and acquaintances, the changes in their lives began almost immediately...first small, then larger over time. Their sons become friendly and spend a lot of time together, quickly involveing their parents in their fast friendship.

SLEEPOVER is a lovely second chance story, and recommend for romance lovers everywhere.

I absolutely loved this book. It’s my first book by Serena Bell, but it definitely won’t be the last. Her writing is just about perfect, even in an ARC, and I managed to read this in one sitting. She immersed me into he story and I barely came up for air.

I loved that characters and I sincerely hope we get stories for some of the others in the book. I would assume we are going to get Brooks’ and Eve’s story next... and I can’t wait.

5 stars from me. Well done.

Poor guy. That has to be a constant gut punch, to say nothing of actually selling his marital home.

Hey now. Doris is getting a little action, methinks.

Honey, that would be too much well-adjustment for me. I'd burn the invitation. In his car.

Ha, she's funny.

Trevor was a douche.

His wife died, and he became a manwhore?

Well, at least she's making an impression.

Madden is adorable.

I hope you weren't a teacher, Doris.

Seriously? Lighten up, McKibben!

Burn in hell, Mrs. Ketotzi. Yeah, that's right, you heard me!

No phone sex at school, you guys.

The twat designed their bedroom?

I think it's nice, how much he loved and still loves his wife.

Preach it, Capria!

If anything, it's a free party. Hope you're not expecting a gift, Travis.

Is she Catalonian?

Er, she knew from the start that he is a widower. Did she think he was over it?

This agent is saying the same stuff I have been needing to say to myself.

Attaboy, Jonah.

I think she will be a compassionate stepmother one day.

*I won this book off of Netgalley for my honest opinion*

Oh my lord. I loved this book. This is the second book of Serena Bell’s that I have read and I am in love with her writing. Her stories are captivating. The chemistry flies off the pages. She knows how to draw the reader in. Really root for the main characters. Create developed characters.

Love a good romance novel with steamy scenes that will melt your panties? Pick this up!

This story is too cute. What are the odds that you have a one night stand and he ends up being your next door neighbor? You'll fall in love with Sawyer and Elle. Their chemistry is over the top and explosive once they give in. A cute story with a heart. Likable characters and an entertaining read. I read a reader copy via NetGalley and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Elle and Sawyer are both starting over. One is dealing with divorce and betrayal and one is dealing with the death of a spouse. When they became next door neighbors, everything is turned upside down. Their sons become best friends and they spend a lot of time together. It was nice to see 2 people find love again after what they have been through.
Sweet second chance love story.
