An Oops-It’s-My-Hookup, Next-Door-Neighbor-Romance
Okay, so this one was a guilty pleasure. A fun and sexy story about healing, written in first person, alternating between the two main characters. Elle and Sawyer are each working through a loss, and both have 8-year old sons who become fast friends. Loved the spice and tension build-up. Loved the window stalking. Loved the character of the elderly cougar-wannabe Mrs. Wheeling and would have liked to see more of her in the story. Also enjoyed Sawyer’s hunky brothers and hoping this will be a series where we get to see each have their own story.
I don't know where to begin with this book. First, I absolutely loved it. Serena Bell's words made me feel like I was truly a part of Sawyer and Elle's life. It starts with a coincidence or maybe divine intervention that Sawyer moves in next door to Elle and that their sons become best friends, which leads them to becoming best friends and more. Individually these two people were incredible, but together...WOW! Sawyer lost his wife two years ago and never felt that he would be able to love another woman, but his relationship with Elle grows into something special. Sawyer is an amazing guy and you can completely understand why Elle falls in love with him. I could feel Sawyer's pain for losing his wife and Elle's pain for feeling like she was merely second choice to her first husband,. This is a book I will definitely and buy and I highly, highly recommend it!!
Elle and Sawyer had a one-night stand two months ago... didn't exchange anything except first names.... Guess who just moved into the house next door to Elle?
Yep, you guessed correctly - Sawyer.
And guess who is best of friends after minutes of meeting each other?
If you guessed Elle's son and Sawyer's son you would be correct again.
Elle is recently divorced from her husband who left her for his high school love. Sawyer's wife died.
Still attracted to each other, these two try to fight there attraction and become friends for there boys. Eventually, these two become more though.
A sweet love story about two single parents.
This is my first book by this author.
You want to know the question I asked myself the minute I finished reading Sleepover? Why haven't I read more of Serena Bell's books? I've only read one other of her books and I absolutely loved it. I felt the same way about Sleepover. It was
charming,
delightful,
darling,
clever,
amusing.
I could go on and on with words that described what a good book this was. I cherished every moment I read it. I loved the story line.
Sleepover is the story of two single parents falling in love unexpectedly for the second time in their lives. Elle is a newly divorced mother who doesn't know if she'll ever find a man who will love her the most. Sawyer is a stoic single father who lost his wife a couple of years ago. Elle and Sawyer randomly met in a bar outside of town a few months ago and spent one night together. They never planned on repeating that night. A wrench is thrown in their plans when Sawyer and his son move in next door to Elle and her son. Sawyer and Elle are both slightly uneasy about the situation, but their sons have found the best friends they have always wanted. Soon Sawyer and Elle are spending way more time with each other than they ever planned.
Oh my goodness. This has to be one of the sweetest second chance at love stories I have ever read.Their first connection might have been a bit x-rated of hook up, but the rest of their story was one of bonding, friendship, and love.
I loved Elle and Sawyer. These people had lived through some tough times. Elle had her pride and self-confidence knocked. Sawyer had decided he would never love another woman again. It was so nice to read about two adults taking the time to get to know and care about each other. They built each other back up again.
Another amazing thing about this book was the children. Madden and Jonah added so much to this story. Their friendship was that instant connection that lasts forever. I loved how they helped bring their parents together. Like I said before, so sweet!
Obviously, Sleepover was a book I more than enjoyed. It had everything I love in a contemporary romance. I highly recommend it.
When Elle and Sawyer first met, they had the complete opposite of a sleepover - a quickie behind a bar. Elle was recently divorced, and widower Spencer weren’t looking foe anything other than a one-night stand. Much to their surprise, Spencer and his son moved next door to Elle and her son a few months later. The two eight-year olds became best friends who held frequent sleepovers, while their parents soon followed suit. However, Elle and Spencer both carried a lot of emotional baggage, that needed to be worked through before their HEA. Fortunately to all, everything worked out in the end.
Omg! I loved this book! I hate books where someone dies , it's just too depressing but this one was awesome! She didn't harp on the death too much but it was discussed! This is Sawyer and Elle book, Sawyers wife died two years earlier and they live next door to each other and their eight year old boys become fast friends! Sawyer definitely does not want another relationship and Elle gets divorced from her jerk of an ex so she's not really looking for anything either! These two together were so great! I loved their relationship and I loved the right years olds together!! They were too cute!! Definitely don't miss out on this book! I highly recommend it! Thank you NetGalley and penguin random house publishers for sharing this book with me!
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough comedy & sweet romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
3.75 stars. I had a few initial issues with Sawyer's past (doing the math, it felt like he'd been with way too many women in the short span of less than 2 years), but after I made myself overlook that, I thought he was an interesting character. He had the most growth and healing to do between him and Elle, and I thought it was well-written. The side characters were also interesting, and I wouldn't mind reading books about Elle's divorced friends as well. It'd be nice to see them get happy endings of their own.
This was a really fun story about two people who become neighbors after having a one night stand. Elle is a divorced single mom and Sawyer is a widow with a son the same age as Elle's. I really loved the romance between the two characters and how the two boys become really close as well.
The big issue here is that Elle in her marraige was secnd best and not really loved. Sawyer is still in love with his first wife and so for him to fall in love with Elle I had a tough time believeing as does Elle. I liked that this issue was very much confronted in the story.
I found it a well written and enjoyable romance and I definitely would love to read more in this series.
Great book. Emotions, passion, family mixed up. Make me cry. Elle and Sawyer are both struggling with emotions and feelings with the past. BeComing neighbors is not easy when you have history and children.
