Flowers are one of my favorite things to draw, so I enjoyed checking this book out. While some seem quite a bit harder to do than others (even with the instructions) there were plenty that I look forward to trying out for myself soon.
Ten-Step Drawing: Flowers by Mary Woodin is an awesome and creative book! If you always wanted to learn how to draw flowers, this book is for you. Explicit illustrations are the best. Easy step by step directions gives anyone trying this technique the path to successful flower drawing. The abundance of flowers, blossoms, bouquets and botanicals are remarkable. This is not some skimpy book. It is loaded with inspiration and makes you want to start right away. I believe there are 75 different drawings to learn. This book is full of inspiration and I would recommend it to anyone who has always wanted to learn how to draw flowers. This book is just a jumping off point. Not only can you draw on paper, but I can see this being used in several other craft techniques as well. Thank you Mary Woodin!

When I doodle, I almost always draw flowers. So, for that reason, I was intrigued by this title, thinking that I could improve the quality of my drawings. This book could definitely help me to achieve that goal. The directions are clear, the layouts are well done, suggestions for colors are given and there are colored drawings of each flower. Learn to Draw 75 Flowers in Ten Easy Steps!

This is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary.
OMG! This is going in my favorite pile! I thought this might be a children's book but it is not! It is for anyone that wants to learn to draw beautiful blooms, blossoms, and more! It is step by step and it has so many detailed drawings to draw, all made easy. The last picture is in color and has the colors of what was used for the picture. That way the reader can accurately draw a realistic picture and color it realistic too! This is certainly going to be a book I am buying. I was so excited looking through this. So many beautiful flower all bloomed out, then just the blossoms, then botanical plants, then a variety of bouquets. Gorgeous! I want to make them and color them too, can't wait!
Wow! I am amazed at the drawings I can make with this very detailed book because I never thought I’d be able to draw like this. The steps are easy and the results astonishing! The book is broken down into four sections.
Since I always like to know what I’m getting, and I think most other people do to, here is a brief list of what you can draw with this book: iris, jasmine, delphinium, crocus, lily, snowdrop, tulip, sweet pea, lavender, gerbera, poppy, bluebell, sunflower, daffodil, pansy, peony, carnation, daisy, and orchid.
The second section has blossoms, including: magnolia, cherry blossom, crab apple and orange blossom.
The third section includes botanicals: blue thistle, jade, desert rose, aloe vera, blackberry, Christmas cactus, hen & chicks and holly.
In section four the author included some beautiful displays: festive wreath, herb and fruit bouquet, wildflower bouquet, winter flowers, magnolia wreath, spring bouquet, and a rose wreath.
I highly recommend this book.
Like the other Ten-Step Drawing book I reviewed, I feel sometimes they cheat a little to fit within the ten-steps (multi-part steps that don’t always seem like they go together and the like). We’ll let that slide though because there are a lot of flowers in this book.
Probably the most useful section is the displays is also the most frustrating for me. Displays. It’s awesome for showing you how to put it all together, but also the graphic version of fine print as some of them are cramming a lot of drawings in a small section and really making out how the individual flowers look gets tricky.
Still, it’s a solid 4 - 4.5 for me.

Ten-Step Drawing: Flowers

Delightful detailed but easy to follow instructions for beginners and more advanced artists wishing to draw flowers ~ I can see this as a gift for adults and children both.
Having tried to draw flowers for watercolor paintings I do believe this book would have been helpful in the past and would be helpful in the future when I paint again. I would definitely like to add it to my library as I believe it would assist in many endeavors. I can see using it for the basis of paintings, to create greeting cards or place cards at a table or even to make personalized stationery. I hope to find and purchase it soon.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing-Walter Foster for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Nice little book. Easy to follow instructions for all ages. Great for doodling on iPad or phone. I’ve also used it to illustrate cards and letters.
Ten-Step Drawing: Flowers by Mary Woodin is the perfect first step in learning to draw flowers. I wouldn’t define myself as creative or artistic but this book really made me want to draw and create. Woodin does a great job of outlining each of the steps and explaining how to get there. Unlike many other drawing books Woodin doesn’t make ever go from a line or circle to something very complex and overwhelming in the next step.
This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves flowers or has an interest in drawing.
I received a review copy of this ebook from Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster,
Walter Foster Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.
I have zero artistic ability, but even I can follow the steps in this book to make something that looks like it is supposed to look. I feel so accomplished! Kudos to the author for creating simple step-by-step directions that are perfectly illustrated for those of us who need that level of guidance. I am hoping a sequel will follow on how to paint those flowers to look like the cover!
In addition to the excellent variety of flowers that are taught in this book, there's also instructions on how to draw several varieties of bouquets and a handful of succulents. The instructions are easy to follow, and offers color suggestions for coloring in the flowers after drawn.
In addition to being an expert now in sketching animals, I’ve become a whiz at doing flowers, thanks to the fun and exquisitely illustrated TEN-STEP DRAWING: FLOWERS. Learned to draw 75 different flowers ... from a rose to an Oklahoma redbud and even a festive bouquet of gerberas! Highly recommended for wannabe artists like me and more seasoned sketchers wishing to improve technique. 5/5

Step by step guide to drawing flowers and leaves, for younger artists. A wide variety of flowers are included, as individual blossoms as well as in bouquets. These books were helpful for very young artists who are learning to draw, and can be used to expand their skills with flower drawing.
