Nick did not want to be a bodyguard to Samantha. She was high society and he didn’t go there. With sam needing protection and now that Nick was on the case, how long will it take for him to realize not all the rich are the same. Now he has to figure out who wants to get to her. With unexpected twists and turns, plus a mole on the loose. Will Sam make it out alive? A great suspense read.
Very exciting and suspenseful. Not what I was expecting but so glad I had the opportunity to read it.
I had never heard of this author before but was interested after I read blurb. Nick is tasked with baby sitting a socialite who saw the murder of her husband and needs to stay alive to testify. When he seen her picture he was instantly attracted til he read rich socialite, a type of woman he hates since his ex was one of them and left him at the altar. Samantha is running for her life and while being under the custody of police as protection there were still attempts made, but now she has Nick whom she trusts even though he doesn't seem to trust her. I have say that I wasn't crazy off Samantha, she was too snobby for someone who is running from her life she needed to relent more or be appreciative. Eventually she did, and I do not know how after 2 weeks they are head over heels in love after just losing her husband 2 months ago, I know she was never in love with said husband, but still.
This book had a lot of twists and turns. Good overall story, Good character development. this was one of those books that you couldn't put down. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Iron Cop is the first book I have read by Sally Booth and I am glad I did. A gripping romantic suspense, I really enjoyed both the characters and the storyline and it held my interest throughout. I will be looking to read more by this author
I did not finish this book. I was quite put off by the "shrinking violet" female character. The writing felt like it needed to be smooth out.
I have long been a fan of romantic suspense, so I started this book with high hopes. The plot line was quite good, but the almost constant sexual tension I felt detracted from the story. I also couldn't relate to Samantha, her character was too "high maintenance" and unbelievable. Overall, I would pass on this book. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.
Samantha Chadwick Thorne witnessed her husband’s murder at the hands of a crime boss and barely escaped herself. The murderer and his henchmen are hoping to stop her from testifying in the upcoming trial and find a missing item.
Detective Nick O'Reilly holds a grudge against all high society women after his fiancée jilted him. Tasked with guarding Samantha he expects her to be everything he hates. Protecting Samantha while on the run from gunmen, Nick is torn when he suspects Samantha knows more than she cares to share and that someone on the police force is helping the crime boss.
This is a fast-paced suspenseful romance that keeps you guessing right up until the end. The two characters are perfect for each other and their banter is entertaining.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. For more reviews please visit my blog:

Iron Cop is an easy, interesting read. It is a suspense romance novel that had me guessing the entire time. I loved the interaction between the two main characters. This is my first time reading anything from Sally Booth but will not be my last.
I received this copy from Netgallery for my honest opinion.
Samantha Thorne witnessed her husband's murder. As a result, the man responsible was arrested and Samantha is the only person who can put him away for good.
She has been placed in two safe houses and the man's goons have found her each and every time. She's been lucky to have escaped with her life. She has something these men want ...and she's hoping that she can bargain for her life if she's taken.
Detective Nick O'Reilly's job is to keep the star witness alive to testify against the killer. She's everything he dislikes ... she was raised by a wealthy family and has never wanted for anything -- the direct opposite of the life Nick had growing up. To him, Samantha is a rich high-maintenance snob.
But that won't keep him from protecting her to the best of his ability. All he has to do is fight off vicious thugs, corrupt cops, and the idea that Samantha might be involved in her husband's death. Aside from that, he also has to ignore the attraction between them.
It's a fast paced romp to stay ahead of the bad guys. I enjoy how Samantha and Nick play off each other with humor and sometimes sarcasm. There's some sizzle and spice along the way leading to a not-so-surprising ending.
Many thanks to the author / The Wild Rose Press / Netgalley for the digital copy of this Romantic Suspense. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
