A college psychological study concerning ethics spills over into Jess's real life and leads to deadly consequences. Filled with twists and turns, I found the story riveting and fast paced.

Well, this was a lot of fun.

I got a kick out of the whole study thing and the book kept me wondering where is exactly it was going and how it would all shake out.

While I was a tiny bit disappointed that the reason behind everything was so...basic...I still found the book enormously suspenseful.

A good read!

This book was definitely a crazy ride. You really couldn't trust anyone. I'm not a huge fan on books about infidelity and I also felt the book was a bit drawn out. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and will more than likely recommend it to others.

Jessica is a make-up artist living in NYC and her job is going out to clients to do make-overs. When she is at a college dorm helping a young woman get ready, she finds out about a psychological study. She could really use some extra money so she takes a chance and sneaks into Dr. Shield’s study on ethics and morality.

Surely a couple of hours sitting through some online questionnaire is worth it but as Jessica is answering the questions she thinks some of them are too intrusive. Still the promise of additional compensation makes her take a chance on an extended study.

When she meets the enigmatic Dr. Shields, Jessica is eager to please. She’s got a sister who is ill and she wants to provide care for and her dad is soon out of a job. However the more she time and confidence she gives to Dr. Shields, the more she wonders about the nature of the study. Something doesn’t seem to add up.

Dr. Shields is very smart and she’s manipulative. She can see that Jessica may be starting to mistrust her but she’ll find a way to keep Jessica her subject, even if it means blocking Jessica’s job opportunities so she’s completely dependent on her being part of her study. Dr. Shields will get to the bottom of what she needs to find out about the real Jessica and her intentions.

Told from dual view points, the reader can find sympathy with Jessica’s need to continue working with Dr. Shields but at the same time you want to yell at her and say, Jessica run get out of that toxic situation. It was actually bit harder to buy into Dr. Shields need for the study and the lengths she was willing to get the information she needed. Still this was a breeze to get through and for fans of psychological thrillers this would be worth checking out.

A mediocre psychological thriller, An Anonymous Girl is a quick read with twists and turns a plenty. Main character Jessica is a standout as she navigates involvement in an experiment that acts as revealing device for readers to learn about her persona and past.

Sadly, I lost interest in the plot about halfway through and struggled to finish it. Nonetheless, I know many readers will enjoy this as it offers another female author perspective on the genre.

I love these authors so much they are an instant buy/borrow for me. Unpredictable twists every time and very compelling characters. I cant wait for the next one!

I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook version and the going back and forth between Jess and Dr. Shields, at the beginning it was a little hard to figure it out but quickly became obvious and the different perspectives on the same situation was quite interesting. I think I was expecting a little more "oomph" for the ending, though I'm not sure what I was looking for. Overall a great audiobook listen!

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen is a psychological thriller that is filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. This novel would be a very good book club book because there are so many ethical and moral decisions that are made by the characters as the novel progresses. The main characters are Dr. Shields, a female psychiatrist who is doing a study on morality and other psychological phenomenon. Jessica, Is also a main character who is a participant in Dr. Shields’study. Dr. Cooper, is the third main character and he is a psychiatrist and also Dr. Shields’ husband. What happens to each character and how have their decisions lad them to this place are seen as the plot is developed. Reading this was both enjoyable and fought provoking . Thank you to the authors, St.Martins Press and netgalley for allowing me to read this novel in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I didn't love these author's main debut with The Wife Between Us so I was skeptical about this one. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised by An Anonymous Girl. This is an interesting thriller that I breezed through in a couple evenings. I enjoyed the main characters, Jess and Dr. Shields. This thriller kept me guessing and kept me enthralled.

I received a copy of An Anonymous Girl through NetGalley for an honest review. Thanks to St. Martin's Press and to Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen for the opportunity.

This is a great mystery. It is the second book by this pair of authors and it was a very good follow-up. I highly recommend this book.

Overall this was an okay book. The premise was interesting, but there were some part that seemed to drag on and get a little boring.

I wasn't really sure what this one was about when I started reading it. I read it for a book group.
The book starts out a bit weird. The main character is not completely likeable. However, that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book.
It is a twisted plot. The other main character is not very likeable at all.
The struggle for control between these two women is the crux of the story. I don't want to give up more than that.
It kept me guessing throughout.

What an intriguing read by the talented duo of Hendricks and Pekkanen! I was intrigued by the premise and the underlying theme- what would you do if you were hard up for cash and someone was offering you easy money with minimal strings attached? How far would you ultimately test your morals if this is the situation that you found yourself to be in?

As main character Jessica finds herself to be in increasingly sketchy scenarios put in place by the leader of the "study" that she is being paid to be in, I found myself wondering when I would find myself drawing the line. I also found myself on the edge of my seat wondering about Jessica's safety and the mindset of Dr. Shields, a character that it is easy not to like.

Ultimately I found this to be a fast-paced and enjoyable read that had me enjoying the slow build to the surprising conclusion. While a little more subtle than some psychological fiction that I've read in the past, this was no less enjoyable.

I absolutely loved Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen's first novel and thought the two-person writing style was seamless. I enjoyed An Anonymous Girl and would read anything else they decide to publish, but I definitely felt An Anonymous Girl was the weaker thriller.

Thank you Net Galley and publishers for an ARC. All opinions are my own.

This was a great story. It didn't immediately catch my attention at first, but as I continued to read my through the tangled web of emotions and character's stories, I was hooked. I enjoyed the different perspectives as the story alternated between two POVs. It was easy to be compassionate with the main character, but many twists and turns made this thriller fully enjoyable!

Be careful who you share your secrets with...

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pakkanen are a Suspense Powerhouse. Their books never disappoint and always keep the reader guessing. An Anonymous Girl explores how much are we willing to sacrifice in our most desperate moment.

There is something very intriguing about a good cat and mouse story. The book begins with Jessica, a makeup artist living in NYC who poses as one of her rich college clients in order to make some quick cash. The local school is conducting a psychology study on ethics and morality that Jessica successfully sneaks into, or so she thinks. As the questions grow more and more invasive, she begins to wonder what the end game is for the mysterious Dr. Shields.

Green Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen weave a tale of obsession and deceit in An Anonymous Girl. I quite enjoy dual narrative books that offer the perspectives of both protagonist and "villain". The story allows the reader to watch everything unfold and see which tricks and traps succeed or fail. Overall, I enjoyed Jessica's character even though at times it seemed like she was smarter than her actions would have you believe. There were a couple of elements to Dr. Shields' character that I felt were a little bit of a stretch for a psychologist, even one with a dark agenda. For fans of domestic thrillers, An Anonymous Girls checks all the boxes of an enjoyable yet not quite memorable ride.
