I actually enjoyed this novel more than than the duo's past work The Wife Between us. The premise and the pacing were very interesting and I feel like the speed of the action worked well for its purposes. I feel like some novels draw out the tension too long but this one had the right amount of tension but also doubt for a psychological thriller. Enjoyed the characters, even the evil ones, and I liked that our main character stuck up for herself in the end.
Interesting story with an intriguing concept. While it took me a little while to get into the plot, it kept me reading and I did enjoy the story. Great twists. Would definitely recommend to other readers.
This was very disturbing and a dramatic departure from the books I previously read by Sarah. However, it was suspenseful and well written wondering whom led the charge against unsuspecting girls. I would read it again.
First and foremost thank you @stmartins.
To say you always know what I need is grossly inadequate.

To Greer Hendricks. All I’m going to say is well played ladies. Well played.
.
To be fair. I was not a huge fan of The Wife Between Us. If I’m staying true to myself, I think I was thrillerd out last year. However, these ladies weave an addictive tale and An Anonymous Girl was no different. In my opinion it was better.

An Anonymous Girl was so different. If a thriller is going to work for me (lately) it has to have a different premise than the cookie cutter situation that has been so prevalent these last few years...since The Book. You know the One that everyone compares a thriller to. I loved The Book. But that doesn’t mean I want all thrillers to follow along. Thank you @greerhendricks for bringing a completely different premise!!
.
Y’all know my style. I’m not going to speak to in-depth about the synopsis. This novel is told from two different POV’s...the psychologist holding a study on morality and one of the participants.
.
That’s all you get. I would recommend this novel. The set up is well thought out. The idea completely original. The writing absolutely addictive. You will want to preorder this book to be ready at your bookstore or your library in January on release date! This is going to be a popular one coming off the wildly loved The Wife Between Us.

I’m settling on four 1/2 stars.
This book was amazing. Greer and Sarah have done it again in this mystery/thriller. A woman sneaks her way into a study for women aged 18-32. It’s a morality study but does Jessica really know what she’s getting herself into? A story of deception and obsession unravels in this book. You won’t want to put it down!
I loved The Wife Between Us but enjoyed this one even more. The twists and turns. The perfect pacing. The believability of the characters. Six stars!
Jessica sneaks her way into a psychological study on ethics and morality. Her answers intrigue Dr. Shields, who decides to involve Jessica in a research project involving her husband's fidelity. At first Jessica dives headlong into the project, but once she meets the husband and he warns her about Dr. Shields Jessica begins to question the project and Dr. Shields intent.
I thought this book was a bit too predictable. There wasn't much suspense, the book unraveled just as I expected. Although I found Jessica to be a well rounded character, Dr. Shields and her husband seemed very stereotypical. Overall, a bust.
AMAZING!!! It really kept me guessing to the very end!! Made my heart pound, made me really feel for the characters.
I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book tells the increasingly tense story of a young woman whose participation in a research study may not be all that it seems. It is told in first-person chapters alternating between Jessica, the young woman, and Dr. Lydia Shields, the psychiatrist running the study. Jessica and Dr. Shields are both well-developed, interesting characters, and the story is deliciously, deliberately ambiguous about who you should or should not trust. As with their debut novel, this book is well-written and well-plotted. But while I thought The Wife Between Us was a bit forced in its “the next Gone Girl” style, I found this story more original, and ultimately more satisfying. Highly recommended.
This book was amazing! I enjoyed the author's first book and this one did not disappoint. Thanks for my copy!
I don't know how Greer Hendricks come up with these stories. Just like The Wife Between Us, An Anonymous Girl keeps the reader on a ride with twists and turns. Unlike with their previous book, this time I was able to predict a few times what I thought was coming but there were still many things that happened that I did not expect.
I felt like I was torn. I didn't want to put the book down yet I was scared to know what was going to happen. I really didn't get anything accomplished this weekend except reading this book. I had to know how it was going to end. This story does present some questions about what a person would do when faced with moral decisions.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
Well written, suspenseful. Better than their first book. Really good story. Page turner, satisfying ending.
good read. easy. fun kept me interested the entire book. will recommend to friends. thoroughly enjoyed.

As much as I tried, I couldn’t get into the crazy back and forth story. I give 5🌟 for originality, but this book left me with whiplash and confusion. I was constantly backtracking, struggling to keep up! It wasn’t for me, but my friend loved it! I highly recommend reading this in a quiet place with some tea!
I was sent this DRC from Netgalley for my honest review. Thank you for the opportunity to find someone who loved this book!!
I really the idea/plot of this book, however it did not deliver for me.
The book was a very slow read for and I almost gave up a couple of times. I did not find any of the characters to be particularly likeable. The alternating points of view between Dr. Shields and Jess did not provide a natural flow to the story and made it very choppy. I found the Dr. Shields chapters to be annoying. I think they were supposed to be scary, but I thought they were cheesy.
I gave the book 3 stars mainly because of the plot. The plot was very original, but I did not enjoy the way it was carried out.
I liked t his book, but didn't love it. The use of dual perspectives is interesting, but it becomes expected and off-putting in this particular book. I do like the main protagonist; she surprised me and wasn't like other characters I have read in similar books.
This is a phenomenally twisted psychological thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seat from beginning to end.
Wow. Dr. Shields wasn’t crazy, but she was extremely dangerous. Up until this book, I never really stopped to think how much power a psychiatrist can execercise over someone, and without the person realizing it.
The twists and turns in this book kept me glued to the page. I couldn’t wait to see how Jessica would get out of the situation she got herself into, and how Thomas would help her.
Jessica learned a lot from Dr. Shields. The end shows just how much she did.
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would and I think fans of this author will absolutely enjoy it too.
I knew after I read The Wife Between Us that I HAD to read An Anonymous Girl. Jess is a girl trying to make ends meet when she hears about a study at the local university. All she has to do is answer the questions honestly, what could be so hard about that? This was a fantastic book that drew me in from the very beginning.

Okay. This book was a mindfuck. Plain and simple, it was a delicious, well-written, tautly paced mindfuck. And it got 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me.
I'm not going to summarize the book much; there are plenty of reviews that will, and will give you parts of the book word for word. Suffice it to say that our main character, Jess, is kinda slutty, broke, and worried about her family (with good reason). She slides into someone else's spot in a questionnaire looking for women aged 18-32. Subject: morality. Obviously our main character's is suspect, since she showed up after hearing that the girl who originally registered wasn't going to. And of course, out of everyone who shows up, she's the only enteree selected for a more in-depth dive into her brain - because what kind of book would it be if she wasn't? And eventually a cat and mouse game develops.
I really liked this book. I am all about a good mindfuck, as long as it happens to people in my books and not in my real life. I was blown away by how well-developed the characters were, how sneaky some of them were, and how much I liked the writing. And that ending?! JFC I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. I can't believe I haven't read everything that they've written (to be fair, as far as I know Greer has only co-written two titles with Pekkanen; Pekkanen has several books written on her own, only some of which I've read). I am definitely moving Pekkanen's solo work higher up my TBR list. Congrats to Pekkanen and Greer on another amazing book. Brava!
