Loved this book! Have been a fan of Bob Ross for ages and love his instruction methods, have learned many things over the years and this book has even more to learn. It starts with a brief history of Bob Ross and the tools and techniques needed to paint the pictures.. wonderful landscapes! Happy trees everywhere!

It's Bob Ross! If you fondly remember watching him paint on PBS, you will enjoy this book. It gives you flashbacks to your childhood memories, but also a great guide for painting. I have been wanting to take-up painting for decades, so I am hoping to start this summer.

This book is a must have for any beginning artist and professional alike. Bob Ross' techniques are shown throughout the whole book., Great photos and exercises. Very informative. Absolutely love this book. this book shows the paint and tools needed to create these beautiful paintings. Follow Bob Ross through each step and you too will be able to paint.

As someone who grew up watching Bob Ross on TV, this book brought immediate nostalgia and I love it. So helpful on tips for painting.

Bob Ross was inspirational and this new book is too. Any Bob Ross fan will enjoy this book. You will learn some Bob Ross history as well as painting techniques and about the tools. There are 16 painting projects and each include the materials and tools listed with steps too. You'll create mountains, cabins, paths, ocean waves and more. It is a great book helping you create your own beautiful landscapes and Happy Trees.

If you like painting landscapes, Bob Ross’s book, Learn To Paint In Oil Step By Step, is a great book to start with. For beginners, he starts by introducing the supplies you will need and does a good job specifying which brush to use and how to use it throughout the book. He also does a good job explaining the color theory.

Many of his paintings are challenging for the more advanced as well. All of his paintings are landscapes. Some of them are more unique by painting a landscape through a window. There is a wide variety of landscapes including day, night, and different seasons. Of course, there are a few happy trees and happy accidents that happen along the way. I recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about oil painting.

Bob Ross is always inspirational. There is something so soothing about watching him paint. I can watch him all day do nothing but paint trees. This book gives instructions to oil paint some of his best works and I cannot wait to try them out!

Readers who grew up watching Bob Ross on local television will absolutely delight in Painting with Bob Ross. This book includes all of his techniques, as well as his famous phrases such as "happy little trees" and "Let's go crazy, what the heck!"

The most interesting part of the book for me was the biography, as Bob's personal story was not part of the television show. His charm and calm demeanor helped inspire generations of would-be artists. Beginners can easily learn the Bob Ross method with this book, as it includes the tools and techniques for success. Readers are able to create their own paintings using their own brushes, as the book includes step-by-step instructions for some of those works. Creating landscape paintings, including seascapes, mountains, and winter scenes is possible with Painting with Bob Ross. This book is an idea gift for those who are fans of Bob Ross and who desire to learn his techniques.

This is a really fun art book that reminded me so very much of the Bob Ross painting show…and I really do miss that show. This book is perfect for anybody that wants to learn to oil paint, as well as for any fans of the late Bob Ross. If you’ve watched all of his shows and want something a bit newer, this might be perfect for you. Even if you haven’t watched his shows, the painting guides in here are very well laid out.
Bob Ross always had a talent for breaking up the painting process and laying it all out for the aspiring artist. Thankfully this book managed to recreate that ability fairly well. It’s not quite the same as watching the show – however you also don’t have to be afraid about not keeping up with him either, as you decide when to turn the page.
What I really loved about this book is that they took the time to share some of Bob Ross’ history with us. I can honestly tell you that I didn’t know a lot of what was included in it, so it was very informative for me. Having this as the introduction was a really nice touch – it felt like they were honoring him.

Growing up watching Bob Ross and seeing him create such beautiful masterpieces, really inspired me to try my hand at painting "happy accidents". I was never able to quite pick up on how to paint like this brilliant artist.

This book, however, has helped me learn to paint with easy step by step instructions and tips all from the creator himself, Bob Ross.

I've enjoyed this book so much! And even though I'm still learning, it's a nice trip down memory lane.

Part of the charm of the Bob Ross painting show was his warmth, his soothing voice, and the confidence he had that the viewer could complete each project. Those things also shine through in this book. Easy instructions, lovely pictures, and a little nostalgia.

I remember my mother watching Bob Ross on tv when I was a child. These look easy to do the painting. Such a great book and it brought lots of memories of my mother.

"Talent is nothing more than a pursued interest," he would often say. "All you need to paint is a few tools, a little instruction, and a vision in your mind."

Painting with Bob Ross is a perfect book for fans of Bob Ross and would love to learn how to paint alongside his instructions in your own time. Sometimes watching The Joy of Painting can go by way too quickly to keep up (unless you pause whenever you need to), but when the instructions and information is presented in this format, you can go at whatever speed you need to.

You are given a list (and photos) of all the tools and materials that you'll need to follow along with the tutorials and achieve optimum results and you are also given an overview of basic painting techniques to assist.

The steps are well written and appear easy to follow and you are given the opportunity to recreate some of Bob's most popular paintings. 

I can't wait to give these tutorials an actual try when I have some spare time on the weekend and I am definitely adding this book to my purchase list once the book is released on 8 October 2018.

Is there anyone who doesn't love Bob Ross? I grew up watching him paint happy little trees and clouds even though I've never picked up a brush for painting more than walls or furniture. I'm not sure I ever knew he lived in Alaska for a time. I wonder now if he played a small part in my moving to Alaska after high school. Maybe he planted that seed! I always loved his forest and mountain paintings best. This book gives step by step instruction to create many beatiful scenes. Do I think a total newb could recreate these paintings with the book alone? I know I couldn't. But I do think this book is a great companion for the videos or for someone with a bit of experience. Know an artist? Or a wanna be artist? Or just someone who appreciates Bob? They would love this book! It made me smile the whole way through and I could hear Bob's soothing voice in my head.

Good new book for all those following along on streaming networks. Covers all the basics of what you need and how to get painting.

Painting with Bob Ross is the newest tutorial book from Walter Foster and Quarto Publishing. Due out 4th Sept, 2018, it's 128 pages and available in paperback format.

I think almost everyone has Bob Ross memories. Mine usually involved gasping in shock and thinking he had totally ruined the painting he was working on. He always made it gorgeous of course and along the way slipped in a few lessons in his life philosophy. Relax, breathe, go with the moment and have fun.

This book brought back such great memories for me of watching his public broadcasting show and listening to him talking about painting and life.

The book includes 16 project tutorials with supplies and preparation as well as a large full colour photo of the project. The intro pages are followed by step by step tutorials for laying in background, washes, detail and finishing.

There are also original Bob Ross quotes interspersed in the tutorial chapters.

It felt like a really lovely visit with a good friend.
