James and Sophia are the perfect getaway book.. I started reading and didn't stop till the end. I highly recommend this book
Buck Wild (Bennett Boys Ranch #1) by Lauren Landish is the 1st book in a new series by this author.
Sophie is the younger sister of Jake. Jake who we met as the main character from Heartstopper- Irresistible Bachelor 3. I loved this spinoff from the series and can't wait to meet the other Bennett brothers in their stories. James and Sophie were drawn to each other from the very beginning. Although Jake had his doubts at the very beginning when the story started, they found they could keep their romance going after the summer ended; Jake soon discovered he would do anything to keep Sophie around. Sophie not only fell in love with James but also his whole family and the life she found there and the life she could have.
This is such a fantastic written story, one full of adventure, angst , passion, romance and some drama. I liked this story so much
that I cant begin to express how much I enjoyed this book and the fantastic HEA! I am looking forward so much to more books and to meeting Luke and Mark up next.
My rating: 4.5 stars *****
Buck Wild by Lauren Landish is the first book in the Bennett Boys Ranch. It was a terrific read. Loved it! This book was the romance between Sophie and James. Sophie is a vet student from the city who goes to their little town for an internship with the local vet. James is a rodeo bull rider who returns home temporarily to help his older brothers with the ranch. This book had humor, family love, family issues, romance and very hot sizzling scenes. It was very well rounded and was an easy read. It was hard to put down. A very good start to the new series and I look forward to reading about the other two Bennett boys finding the love of their lives. I recommend this story to anyone that loves a good cowboy story. Good job Lauren Landish!
James is a bull rider working on his family ranch while he's off for the summer. Sophie is a veterinarian and finds James attractive until he opens his mouth. Sparks fly with this couple, will they be able to leave after a summer fling? This enemies to lovers western romance is a good read.
Oh Lordy...what an amazing read!! Geez—kickass storyline; totally super hot 🔥 characters; terrific back and forth with mega watt dialogue; and one helluva HEA! I can’t wait to read the story Mark and Luke finding their own forever girl. Y’all really need to grab this book—it will definitely get your heart pounding! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!) ❤️❤️❤️
I love Lauren's books so I was very excited to see this new series. Something different in that it is a love story betweeen the country farm guy who is a rodeo rider and the city girl born and bred who finds that she has a love for animals and wants to be a vet. There is instant attraction between James and Sophie that blows up into a very passionate summer romance. Unfortunately at the end of the summer decisions about their futures have to be made.
Their romance was hot, the sex scenes were off the charts but well written. In all it was a story about falling in love and growing up and how tough it is to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life. James came across as a gorgeous hot and sexy cowboy, and I look forward to meeting his sexy brothers in future stories.
Sophie has plans that include the summer interning for the local vet and then off to veterinary school in the fall. Nowhere in her plans is there a place blocked out for a wild bull riding cowboy. But after a rather rough start, she finds herself spending plenty of time with James as he helps out on his family’s ranch until he returns to the rodeo circuit in a few months. Neither are looking for more than a summer fling but sometimes fate has other things in store.
Saddle up, pardner, cuz James and Sophie are about to take you on a sweet and sexy ride in Buck Wild!
When bull rider James meets vet intern Sophie, the hostility between the two is obviously masking a latent attraction. And it doesn't take long for them to consummate that attraction. But, is a relationship in the cards for the two when James is fixing to head back out on the circuit, and Sophie is set to go back to school once summer is over?
While Buck Wild isn't anything epic or out of the ordinary, it delivers steam, snappy dialogue and an exciting cast of Bennett Brothers to explore in further installments of the Bennett Boys Ranch series. If cowboy love is your jam, I highly recommend you give Buck Wild a quick read.
Loved reading the awesome and fabulous first book in the Bennett Boys series. James is home helping out his family with the farm, and Sophie's internship is with the local vet. James and Sophie make a deal to just enjoy each other for the summer, no strings attached. Read the highly recommended and wonderfully written love story of a rodeo star and a vet to be.
I really loved this book! Buck Wild was so good and couldn’t stop reading until I finished! Sophie, a vet student goes to an internship in a little town and meets James a rodeo bull rider. He is the youngest and the wildest of the three Bennett brothers. I thought this was an easy read and well-written. I can’t wait for the next one!
It’s never a good sign when a book takes me more than three days to read. And this one took me seven.
Things this book had going for it:
~Excellent, realistic, witty dialogue - James and Sophie were funny together
~Fun banter between the brothers - there’s nothing better than watching brothers give each other crap
~Open communication between the hero and heroine - there was no being coy or hiding feelings, and once they figured out how they felt they, told each other...hooray!
~A hero who wasn’t stupid in his behavior towards the heroine - okay, he took a little time away when feelings got stronger than he was expecting, but he didn’t do anything drastic like ignore her or push her away...thank goodness!
~A summer-fling relationship and main characters who didn’t spend the whole time moping about how the other doesn’t want to be with them past the time they’ve decided to be together - James and Sophie had a good time together and didn’t brood about the future
What this book didn’t have going for it:
~A compelling plot
This was a nice story, but there really wasn’t much to it. James and Sophie meet. They start out thinking the other is a jerk, but those opinions were changed the next day. They spend time together (a lot of it steamy), there’s this random plot about the neighbor trying to buy their land (and maybe cutting the wire on their fence) that doesn’t really go anywhere, and made me think it is setting up a storyline for a future book in the series.
There’s no real conflict in this book at all. James has some decisions to make about his future - outside of his relationship with Sophie - but he has a good talk with his mama and everything is straightened out in his head. Which was actually very refreshing. It’s nice to see a family that isn’t majorly dysfunctional!
So once again, I find myself conflicted about a book’s rating and my review. And like last time, just because a book stays away from the things that annoy me, doesn’t mean a I’m going to like it. The fact it took me so long to read Buck Wild is telling, mostly that it was okay but failed to keep me engaged. Fun characters and good dialog aren’t always enough. I need more, and this book didn’t it deliver for me.

We were introduced to Sophie in a previous Lauren Landish book but she is now all grown up. She was planning on going into business like her brother, Jake, but a data entry problem had her changing her major when she was a sophomore and going into veterinary medicine. She ends up doing an internship before she start vet school out in the country. Then there is James, a bull rider, home for the summer while on break from the circuit for personal reasons. The two have an interesting meeting but things quickly heat up. Will they decide on a summer time romance or will it become more. There are really good primary and secondary characters in this book and it is great to have some gentleman to fall for which James ends up being. Country boys are taught to be gentleman and take care of their own. Enjoyable read.
I am voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
What a great start to a new series! I loved the Bennett family. James and Sophie complement each other so well. Can't wait to see who's next!
What a Buck Wild Ride. James is a cowboy after my own heart. So sexy and sweet at the same time. And Sophie pulls Jake and Roxie in because Jake is her big bro. But this definitely stands alone. It's Habanero HOT, of course cause this is Ms Landish but it's much more than that. A hellion and an intern fall in love.

M/F Romance
Sophie is a strong woman who knows what she wants and is working hard towards her goal of achieving it. When she decides to spend her summer before vet school working with a local rural vet, she is so excited, but doesn't expect to get a summer fling in too.
James is working hard at fixing the fence surrounding his family's ranch. After recently losing his father, James is back home during his break from the bull riding circuit. Home... James doesn't really feel like it's home yet. He is just here to help his brothers. But when a feisty vet puts him in his place and brushes him off, James finds himself intrigued.
These two have a slow burn chemistry. They continue to explore what they might have and when feelings start creeping into their arrangement, both will have to decide how to handle those feelings. The romance has almost a young adult feel to it. These are cute characters and I really hope that the other brothers get their own stories too.

This is the first in a new series (although with links – see below). As there are three Bennett boys, we are pretty much guaranteed some more cowboy fun – well, not sure Mark understands the concept of fun, but it will be entertaining seeing him learn!
Here we find James home from the bull-riding circuit during the off season, helping out at the family ranch. It is the first year without his father alive, and the information we get about the family and the impact of his death is very moving. James has never really felt he belonged and is looking forward to returning to competing. So when he finds himself attracted to the vet's intern, Sophie, he considers a fling a definite possibility – luckily so does she.
Of course, as they spend more time together, they take advantage of the obvious chemistry and have a lot of fun together. I really liked that they were equal in these feelings and were very open to enjoying themselves. Inevitably, as time passed, they both realised they knew each other rather well, and maybe the lightheartedness was not quite so light.
I loved the side characters in this story, most especially Mama and Doc – they added a realism to the situation and grounded the pair. The story involving their neighbours will also presumably re-emerge in future books; it was sad, strange, but hopefully cathartic.
I am looking forward to seeing what happens next, and which brother gets his turn at a happily ever after.
(As an aside – any fan of Lauren Landish will have recognised Sophie's brother, Jake, and his wife, Roxy, from her book Heartstopper, which was fun bonus!)

I’m usually a fan of Lauren Landish’s but this one fell flat for me. Though I really liked the two main characters, the story was just slightly boring and moved at a very slow pace without much happening. Sophie is a veterinarian student who is interning with a small-town doctor for the summer. Her very first ride along is to a farm owned by the Bennett brothers. James is immediately an ass to Sophie when he doesn’t believe she can handle the difficult birth of a horse calf and Sophie snaps right back at him. Sophie being one to stand up for herself was my favorite part of this book, she’s definitely a fierce and independent character and I really liked her. We do get quite a bit of steam from this story and James and Sophie definitely have chemistry. All in all, this isn’t a bad read, I just found the brothers a bit immature and I don’t think I’ll be reading more from this particular series.
*5 Stars*

This was my first Lauren Landish book, but it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed this one, and loved watching these characters get to know each other. James and Sophie are adorable together.
Right from the start, you’re hooked on these two, as their initial meeting is quite interesting. Throw in James awesome family, the fabulous Doc that Sophie works with, and later on in the novel, her new friend Shayanne, and this is a really nice and easy read.
There’s some angst and tension where its needed, and it keeps you on edge a little, but its not over the top, and works well with the story. Also, it’s just plain hot in the sexy time scenes. I love the way both main characters are quite down to earth, and they're also both understanding and hardworking.
These two have a great relationship that you’re determined to see how they will make it work, and if in the end, they really can be together seriously, instead of just a summer fling.
The secondary characters in this are just as great as the main characters, and I really look forward to reading the rest of this series. I’m assuming we will get James brothers books next, but I would also like to see Shayanne get a book too. The Bennett world and surrounds is very interesting, so I’ll be looking forward to what is to come!
I loved this read about James, a bull rider who is at his prime on the circuit, who comes back home to the ranch after the sudden passing of his dad. His two brothers and him keep the ranch going and for the summer he comes home to help. He meets the new assistant, Sophie, to the vet and ends up sticking his foot in his mouth and Sophie gives it right back. Their next encounter is more tame and apologetic and has both of them feeding the sparks between them. But Sophie has vet school and James has to go back to the circuit after summer...is it a summer fling or could it be something more.
I adored this read, it was sweet and steamy and I loved how it all flowed beautifully without too much drama between them. I loved how mature both of them were, being honest and open and the banter between them was perfect. This read didn’t need over the top drama, miscommunication, lies, secrets, which makes it the perfect romance with steam and an AMAZING read. I LOVED how James wasn’t afraid of his emotions, how mature he was in making his decisions, how he didn’t make an a** of himself and the respect he shows his mama which reflected on how he treated Sophie...refreshing. Sophie was a firecracker and held her own, tit for tat when she was with James and I LOVED how both of them made decisions together, not holding out or hiding from their feelings. Can’t wait for the next one !!!!

Buck Wild by Lauren Landish is the first book in her Bennett Boys Ranch Series. The book is a standalone and doesn´t end with a cliffie.
James Bennett is a rodeo rider. He´s back homebecause circumstances forced him to. He and his brothers Mark and Luke work together at the family ranch.
Sophie is a young woman, fesh from college and about to attend veterinary school. Her passion are pets and livestock. She has asummerjob and this job leads her right to the Bennett ranch. THe first time James and Sophie meet, they clash. He´s overbearing and she´s turned off by his attitude. Firework explodes, but not in the good I can´t let you go way.
Buck Wild is a entertaining read, well written with a great story and fantastic characters. I liked the story and give 4,5 stars.
Sophie is all grown up, and attending the same university her brother, Jake attended. She plans to get an MBA and then her brother in business. An interesting twist of fate in her sophomore year has her changing her major to veterinary studies. Jake is a well known bull rider and travels the country on the rodeo circuit, he's not happy when he sees Sophie delivering the foal of one of his brother's horses.
Sizzling hot, sexy, absolutely fabulous characters that meet under unusual circumstances and fall head over heels. Fascinating plot with interesting twists, and a happily ever after.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
Buck Wild was so HOT!!! Sophie is a very strong-willed woman who is on her way to vet school. She accepts an internship for the summer with Doc. Doc shows her a lot & they have to go out to a local ranch. James Bennett is back home helping on his family's ranch after his dad passes away. When his family needs Doc to come out & help with a horse, he meets Sophie & isn't exactly polite to her. Throw in Jame's mom & she isn't going to let that fly. The chemistry between Sophie & James is hot!!! They both think they know what they want in life & that what they have together is a summer fling. Boy are they wrong! Everyone else can see what is happening but James & Sophie don't want to acknowledge it. James must decide if life is worth living on the go or if he wants to settle down. Sophie must decide also what she wants in life. I loved this story & all of the characters. I can't wait to read the next book in the series & hopefully see James & Sophie some more.
