Lauren can’t write a bad book. Once again it was great with memorable characters and a fast flowing storyline. Enjoyed it from the beginning to the last word. Would definitely recommend!
Sweetly sexy, emotionally engaging and entertaining romantic journey filled with undeniable passion and adorably perfect couple.... was an interesting and heartwarming story.
Sophie and James start out as a summer fling they both agree will end since they both have big plans in the works... One is going to school and the other is going back on the rode with the rodeo, but life just may have other bigger and better plans for them both... really enjoyed this family and look forward to more Bennett's.
Buck Wild is book 1 in the Bennett Boys Ranch series by Lauren Landish. This was a sweet, steamy romance between James a sexy bull riding cowboy who comes home to help out on his family's ranch when his father passes away and Sophie who is town for the summer interning for the local vet to gain some experience before she heads to school. They meet and the sparks fly. This is a great read and I highly recommend it.
James is a bull rider. He is home on the families ranch, during his off-time, to help out. His dad died recently and he feels like it's more important than ever to do his share of the work. But come fall, he's back on the road. He has airways had a wild side and felt like he needed more than the ranch.
Sophie is in town for the summer. Come fall, she is off to get school. In the meantime, she is interning with the local vet to gain some experience. She meets James when she and the vet go to the family farm to help a horse, who is having a difficult delivery. They have a disagreement and the sparks fly between the two. They later apologize to each other a get to know one another. The sparks are still flying but in a different way. But it's just a summer fling, or isn't it?
I liked this book. The characters were great.
4 Star review of Buck Wild (Bennett Boys Ranch #1) by Lauren Landish
Lauren Landish is a new author to me and Buck Wild was a great book to start with, particularly since it is the first book in a new series.
James Bennett is a rodeo cowboy who loves the adrenaline rush of his job. Spending time at his family ranch he feels like something, is missing, that is until he meets Sophie Stone a trainee veterinarian.
Sophie intrigues James, particularly because she is feisty and challenges him on several levels. Will Sophie fall for the rugged and smoking hot cowboy or will she be able to resist his charms?
When James and Sophie embark on a hot and passionate summer romance, neither of them know how it will change their lives. Buck Wild was a hot read which kept my attention. I liked the development of the characters and found the story flowed well and I look forward to reading more from this author and the Bennett Boys.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Rating 4/5
This is the first book in a brand new series and my first book by Lauren Landish.
I really liked this book - the characters were very "adult" and handled their obstacles with maturity and respect, leaving no room for childish behaviors. I really appreciated that in this book because its not often we read and see how *adult* we need to be in certain life situations so this was very relatable and easy to connect with both characters. There were lots of cowboy remarks that helped keep the theme. And steamy, steamy love scenes!
What I didn't like about this book was its GINORMOUS similarity to the novel The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks (minus the Ira/Ruth love story). I could almost certainly predict what would happen because of that and I HATE when its so predictable. It ruins the excitement of the story and takes the fun out of the unexpected.
James is a professional rodeo bull rider who has come home for the summer to help his family at the ranch since his father passed away. James is a freespirit who has no interest in love or relationships and will be rejoining the rodeo circuit when it resumes in the fall.
Sophie is interning with the town vet for the summer before she returns to veterinary school. She and the vet are at the Bennett ranch to help deliver a foal and can’t help but notice James. The only problem is that his looks don’t compensate for his attitude.
Their animosity towards each other turns into sparks of a different nature and they decide to spend a steamy summer together but what happens when it is time for them both to leave town?
Hot chemistry, humorous banter and a sexy cowboy, what more could you want. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
James needs a break from the rodeo life he has been living so he comes back to his family ranch. Sophie is working along side the local vet to get training toward being a large animal vet. She meets James when she is out on a call the vet. Sparks fly between them the minute James opens his mouth to speak to her. They both try to fight their attraction but the more time they are around each other the harder it becomes. What will happen between them when the summer comes to an end?
This is a great story and once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between James and Sophie is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
Sexy, smart romance
I discovered Lauren Landish's books this year and so glad I have. Buck Wild the first book in her new Bennett Brothet series was a delight.
James and Sophie had sparks flying from their very first meet. I thought their characters were very believable and oh my... the sex scenes absolutely sizzle.
I loved the relationship ship they each had with their respective families, it added depth to the story. The plot line was very interesting it really kept my interest and I feel like I learned a lot about the ranch and rodeo worlds. I can hardly wait to read Mark and Luke's stories.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.
AMAZING read! James is a super swoon worthy bull rider that will leave you panting! The scenes in this book are melt your kindle HOT! This is a country boy book that you don’t want to miss.
This was such a good read. Take one sexy bull rider and add one sassy vet-in-training, add in some drama, steam, humor and emotional intensity and you end up with a book that fun and fantastic!! Sophie and James have amazing chemistry and I just loved them as a couple. A wonderful book and a awesome start to this new series.
This was a good read. The writing flowed well for the most part, and I thought the characters were fully developed. I liked Sophie from the start. She was feisty, and she didn't let anyone walk over her. James was a little harder to like from the beginning, but he was more likeable as the story went on. There wasn't a whole of drama in this one, but I did enjoy their HEA. I liked the secondary characters, and I think the author made you interested in how the stories will go for the brothers.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of " BUCK WILD" Got to love a hot as sin sexy alpha cowboy James Bennett is a Bull Rider who lives fir his 8 seconds of fame but he's been feeling kind of restless so he decides to spend the summer on the family ranch. Sophie Stone is at the Bennett ranch helping with one of the horses having problems birthing when in comes James wondering why a city girl is treating the horse she's in training to be a veterinarian and Sophie put the smug arrogant James and his ego in place. James thinks Sophie is a sassy spitfire and beautiful and he's definitely up for a challenge the chemistry between them is scorching hot they can't deny their feelings will they have a hot sexy summer romance or will they get their HEA. You must get this amazing book to find out I definitely recommend to read it won't disappoint as usual Lauren Landish hit it out of the park with this one I can't wait for the next book I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the characters.
ღ Sophie Stone , had her plan set in her mind to follow in her older brother’s footsteps.. But a Lil bump in the road had change the course in her life. She went from studying business to completing her bachelor’s degree in becoming Vet. She moved to small town (Great Falls) to do her interning with a local Vet for the summer
Sophie is use the big city & men there, so she didn’t bat eye when the 6”3 cowboy gave her attitude
James Bennett is the youngest of the three siblings… James came home to help out on the family farm after his dad passing
James’s father use to call him the ‘wild child” & for good reason, see James is 8 second man …he has working the rodeo circuit for years.. New city every weekend pretty much, so summer on the family farm was more of oviligation, until he meet the feisty sassy mouth assistant Vet
📚 James & Sophie were adorable. This started off as just a summer fling, until what seem like Sophie getting too serious & James freaking out…
Is James dying for his escape to come sooner than expected in the fall? What will happen once the fall season is pond these two? Will they just walk away, or with they make it work somehow?
📚 You can always find Lil dirty talking, some sassy strong females, sexy as heck males & steamy moments in one of Lauren Landish books
📚oh I don’t know which was funnier, the three siblings poking at each other or the fun loving flirting between Sophie & James.. Either way this is a good read
I can't wait to read about Luke & Mark. Omg can’t forget about see more of Mama Louise.
📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion & my honest review 💕

I haven't read too many cowboy romances in my time, however, if they're all as hot as this one, I might just have to change that! Buck Wild was warm, sweet and steamy goodness. It was full of feel goods, low on angst, and had easy to like characters. Although the plot didn't really seem to be going anywhere aside from a bit of drama from a rival family, I still found myself enjoying it and found myself getting lost in the pages. James and Sophie definitely blew hot. The romance wasn't really there but I was still rooting for the two of them to ride off into the sunset together. I also really liked how the author tied in previous beloved characters into the story without taking away from the main ones. This was definitely something different from this author but I think she made it into a success.
8 seconds is all it takes to make or break a champion, and James is a champion. But will his cockiness and swagger win over the young vet he stumbles across on his downtime from the circuit? Will he realize that winning is more than just victory? Or will Sophie break the handsome cowboy of his arrogance? Summer fling or long term love..
I loved this sweet and sexy romance about James and Sophie!
The characters are just swoon-worthy, fascinating, adorable and so cute as they fall for each other…
I loved the tough as nails and sassy heroine and the very hot and dominating hero…
I loved the down to earth kind of way the story is told, giving some insight in the country life with all its hard work, be it as a rancher or a veterinarian, and the scenic beauty Ms. Landish described so wonderfully…
This is one of the cutest romances I have read by Lauren Landish!
Buck Wild is a delicious book about a Rodeo star that has come home to help out on the family ranch until time for him to get back on the circuit to ride the bulls again and a young city girl turned veterinarian student that is doing her internship with a seasoned vet for the summer then she is off to school again in the fall. The two meet during a difficult delivery of a colt and the sparks fly.
James has always been the wild child and living his dream on the road chasing the next high score from riding the bulls. He has had his share of "buckle bunnies" along the way, that's just part of the fame. Sophie has been raised by her brother in the city, she did a major career change and went from business to becoming a vet for large animals. Her brother doesn't understand her career choice but supports her.
This book gives us humor, sexy hot back and forth tension between these two and family love and all that goes with being part of a small town. I loved how James goes from the wild child to a very caring loving man and how Soph realizes this is more than just a summer fling and how her heart is tied up in not only this man but his entire family. These two will see that what you thought your future held for you isn't really what you want anymore and you can have a new future with the one you love.
I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I loved this book and highly recommend it. Great story, a page turner, well written to keep your interest throughout the entire book and lots of heat between these two.
This cow boy story was a good one. This author really brought these characters out and made the story stand out. I highly enjoyed this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. I absolutely loved this book. James and Sophie are amazing. They have great banter, flirty, sexy, delicious hotness. When Sophie starts her internship at the local vet office with Doc she’s so excited. Her first encounter with James was a shock to her system, he’s hot, and she wants to do things to him, well that is until he opens his mouth. The Bennet family has suffered a loss and James came home from the rodeo to help out around the ranch, never did he ever think he would find someone he could spar with and be himself with. They both have plans come fall, and with all the time they are spending together, feelings are creeping up unexpectedly. James’ family adores Sophie and she feels that way about them. Have these two fallen for each other? How will they react when the other confesses their feelings? Such a great read, couldn’t put this down. No spoilers, it’s a fun, living read of discovery of ones self and how to work through feelings. Highly recommend it!
