Love it! There’s no drastic drama to rip your heart apart but a subtle dilemma about two people heading in different directions. There’s a spark when Sophie and James meet but is it enough to sustain a relationship or let it fizzle when their time seems to be up? Buck Wild was a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to read more! This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
Buck Wild by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will drive you wild. Sophie Stone has definitely got some and she knows what to do with them, she is amazing, and she just knows how to bring the best out of people. She even knows how to put a wild Bennett boy in his place, during one of the scariest moments of her life as well, that’s why I know she has some massive stones. James Bennett may rue the day he ever made a bad comment and hopefully he will prove to our lovely Sophie that he is the nice gentleman that his Mama raised. Lovely and hot with a crazy booty to match, what more could you want. This is a steamy and sweet romance with a kick to it also.
A hot dirty-talking rodeo cowboy + a feisty veterinarian student = a well written country love story complete with humor, a touch of drama, a feud, likable characters, sizzling chemistry, and hot scenes.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
This was a quick read that was also fun. James and Sophie were well written characters that had amazing chemistry. I enjoyed Sophie being a strong woman that had an ultimate goal that did not change throughout the story despite the events that took place. James was a great character that was working though his grief with the loss of his father and if his life goals of returning to the rodeo circuit. This was a drama free story that moved along well. I liked how Sophie's story was briefly connected to her brother and Roxy's story from the Irresistible Bachelor's series touched on each but was not a main focus. I enjoyed this book from the start and look forward to seeing where this series will go in the future.

When Sophie meets James it’s not on the best terms, but Sophie shuts him down. Sophie is working with Doc to get her internship for vet school and her first job is helping Doc with a difficult horse birth on the Bennett farm but James “Mr. Rodeo Star” Bennett questions her ability to assist in this. Now while Sophie finds him attractive she isn’t the type to fall at his feet, so after a tongue lashing from his Mama he apologizes and they agree to to call it “even” and be friends. As cocky as James can be and as defensive as Sophie is they try to find a common ground and it’s entertaining to read, I think Sophie is my favorite character.
Funny, exciting, sexy, romantic and a great read. Lauren Landish never fails to deliver a great read
Buck Wild is book one in a new series by Lauren Landish about a professional bull rider and a young vet student.
James Bennett is currently in the off season, his pops has recently passed away and he is back home to help his mama and brothers on the family ranch. He plans to help his family for the summer, then come fall its back to training and getting back to the rodeo circuit. Little did he know a sassy, smart and sexy vet student would come into his life and make him re think his plans.
Sophie Stone is currently and intern with Doc for the summer before she leaves for vet school. While working, her and Doc are called out to the Bennett ranch to help with a delivery and she has a not so pleasant meeting with one Bennett brother in particular. Despite the rudeness from James, there is an instant attraction there.
Knowing that they are both leaving in the Fall James and Sophie decide to start a summer fling and come fall they will part ways and move on with their lives and with their dreams. However, they begin to spend more and more time together and feelings grow and plans change.
The chemistry between James and Sophie was off the charts!! There is no denying the connection between these two. I loved how sweet James was with Sophie, after the initial meeting between the two. Mama Louise is the best! She loves her boys fiercely and will always take care of them. I loved how protective she was of them all! I can’t wait to learn more about Luke and Mark in future books, plus get more James, Sophie and Mama Louise.
LOVED IT! This book has so much heart! I'm not a huge fan of 'cowboy' romances, I'm more of a city girl myself, but even I wanted to be on horseback with the Bennett Boys. James was probably my least favorite (again, not a cowboy fan, so a bull rider? I couldn't get into his mindset) but he was certainly a very sweet guy with a heart of gold and lots of respect for his Mama so that made up for his profession. Sophie, she's probably up there in my top three heroines. I just loved her sass! I liked her when we met her in her brother Jake's book, so I was super excited to see she got a well deserved HEA of her own. The dialogue was perfect, lots of witty banter between the two, Sophie was assertive in her desires, I loved that, she took what was hers and she owned that $#%+! Good for her, and good for this author for making such a strong self reliant character. And the steamy heat! I SO love me a dirty talker, and James is really talented at it. Looking forward to more from these guys, Luke may surprise me but I think Mark will be my favorite and it will take a lot to break his stoic shell.
If you love a sexy cowboy then you will love James. James loves the rodeo and his family and when his dad passed he knew he had to come home. Never did he think he would meet a feisty veterinarian in training. Sophie & James was only suppose to be a summer fling but you know how it goes. Both weren’t looking for love but the heart wants what the heart wants. Great story with great characters that had me hooked from the start.
this is actually my first book by this author, if you can believe it! don't know what i was waiting on, i have a bunch of her others on my kindle but this was a fun introduction to her work. i love a good cowboy romance. this book was definitely hot hot hot on the steamy scale, and there was a lot of it. loved the characters, the chemistry was everything. this is great for when you want a fun, low angst kind of read. can't wait for the next one!
Buck Wild- a great start to this series for Lauren Landish! Its a sweet cowboy/ranch story with all the feels! Sophie and James - quite a couple! They meet and you the chemistry right away amongst the banter!
There is a great story with supporting characters readers will love very quickly. I always enjoy the honesty in characters when building a relationship and this book does not disappoint!
I look forward to reading more the the Bennett Boys!
4.5⭐
Buck Wild was a sweet, sexy, hot, entertaining and absorbing story. That had little drama and great characters. And not just the main two James and Sophie, but both of James's brothers Luke and Mark. As well as their mama Louise.
Plus, it was charming, engaging and easy to read. Not to mention full of hot cowboys and as a new author to me, I will definitely be reading more from Lauren Landish in the future. And anyone who loves a good cowboy romance should definitely check Buck Wild out.
This book was my first by Lauren Landish. Let me tell you Buck Wild was more than only 8 seconds long lasting bull ride. It was so much better. Summer break insta love of its finest. Story about value of simple things, family bond and sassy vet intern meeting sexy cowboy romance.
The writing was amazing almost like I've been present to the whole story meeting all the characters myself. I enjoyed the writing style full of nature, ranch living and steaming hot scenes. I loved the sassy mouth of Sophia's not taking anyone's attitude, especially James' one.
He was mesmerized by her from the very beginning. And I absolutely fell in love with Mama Lou, then she's had all her boys wrapped around her tiny finger and to read her words about not raising them like this or that made me chuckle all the time. I loved the Southern charm of this story.
So not to repeat myself let's say if you love ranches, cows, horses and hot cowboys..this book won't disappoint you.
A stereotypical cowboy romance, but the characters didn’t resonate for me, yet there was clear chemistry between James and Sophie. I had a couple of starts and stops before finally reading the story in its entirety. The Epilogue was the perfect ending to the story.
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I just loved this book. It was so well-written that it captured my mind and I was dragged along for the ride. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down until I read the last page.

Buck Wild is the ultimate cowboy Romance! I absolutely fell in Love with Sophie and James! I am a huge fan of anything Lauren Landish writes and books like Buck Wild are why. It was the kind of book you can get lost in. You have a Hot Bad Boy bull rider/cowboy in James. He is full of fire and sex appeal . Then you have the sassy, funny witty Vet student Sophie, you just can’t help but fall for this couple. They have a chance meeting one summer on James Family’s farm, when Sophie assisted the local Vet to help with the delivery of a horse. It had me laughing out loud, smiling and shedding a tear or two. It was wonderful. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc.
This is book 1 in the Bennett Boys Ranch series. It's about rodeo rider James Bennett and vet in training Sophie Stone. James is home for the summer to help work his family's ranch. But he is restless and ready to get back to what he loves, riding bulls. It fills the wild streak he has in a way the ranch never has. Sophie is interning with a local vet when she meets James. She doesn't have time for a cocky cowboy with an ego. No matter how hot he may be or that he pushes her buttons.
I absolutely loved this book! Now mind you, I was almost done with it when I realized that it had a connection to Heartstopper, so don't be like me and then think wait, I know those names!! And no, you don't need to read that book first before this one. It's just connected and a great book too! With that being said, I loved Sophie! She is just the right amount of snarky, strong, and funny heroine that I love in my books! She will make you laugh but also make you see how strong someone can be and how much they are willing to do for someone they love and care about. James may come across as this completely wild and carefree person at first, and don't get me wrong he does like to be wild, but when it come to his family and the people he cares about-he will drop everything in a heart beat! And he does! And when they both realize how much they have come to mean to each other, instead of completely giving up their own hopes and dreams for the other person-they find ways to not only keep their dreams alive but also to the others dreams happen. I loved it! I can't wait to read the next one in this series and hope it's just as good! Of course with the parts with the brothers and Mama-I have a feeling it will be!
To be honest, this week I didn’t feel like writing a review because I’ve got nothing new to say. That’s why I’ve been prolonging this review but I feel like I have to write it at some point because the sooner the better (and well, I’ll forget what I want to say).
Lately, I have felt this need to read cowboy romances and well, when you start it’s hard to stop.
I’m a newbie to Lauren Landish’s books and I was excited to read this book. I did like her writing but sadly, even though it was interesting, all I can say about it is that the book is very steamy. The connection between them is almost instant and they soon started to sleep together.
I do think the author’s writing has a potential but I just didn’t feel connected to the characters or the story. Yeah, he’s a bull rider and is with family only during the summer and yes, Sophie is in town for summer too because she has school in the fall, but there’s no bigger confliction or drama in the book. And I missed that. That’s why I didn’t feel like writing the review right after I finished Buck Wild because I didn’t know what to say. I had to think about it for a few days.
All I remember from the book is steamy moments, fixing the fence and the neighbouring family. I wish I could say more but that’s what for me was missing. More.
3,5 stars.
I’m always a sucker for a Cowboy finding his true love, and Buck Wild fits this category perfectly. I enjoyed the storyline and appreciated that characters were adult and mature in their approach to handling any conflicts that arose. But really, there was very little angst and drama in this story so you weren’t kept reeling by constant issues.
BUCK WILD is a heart-warming, sweet and sexy read, which is easily finished in an afternoon. So grab a cuppa, get comfy, relax and enjoy the story of James and Sophie. This may be my first read by Lauren Landish, but it certainly won’t be my last.
We meet Sophie, well we met her before in the heartstopper book for Roxie and Jake, hope you read if not I encourage you to do so, they are hilarious and you get a little more understanding not that you will be lost because you wont be and it does read as a standalone, but just a little extra. Any who back to review so we have Sophie who is studying to be a vet and she is working an internship where she ends up meeting James on her first assist. Their first meeting was not great they rubbed each other wrong but the attraction was there from the very beginning. They meet again and call a Truce and end up exploring the intense chemistry they have and the sexiness begins my friends. Can't wait for the next brother...Enjoy!
