I would like to thank Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op and the Netgalley website for this partnership.
I was immediately attracted by the cover of this book, you can see the pretty Megan leaning against the edge of a train or bus window because her face reflects on the window.
One sentence immediately attracts attention: "some fear the stranger's past. Others are perturbed by her look"
We find Megan there, who every time we meet her eyes, the city shakes as she remembers their most sordid secrets.
She'll be threatened and she'll have suspicious accidents. She wants to erase her past that is too recent for her and leave her old life behind. Except that an old 30-year-old mystery will take her to the bottom of what she already was. She's going to be kidnapped.
A first volume read in one volume so much I hooked on Megan's character, whose story is so captivating, moving and full of suspense and twists and turns. Can't wait for the rest to come out. This author has talent, this book deserves to be translated to have more readers.
This book was a longer book than I’m use to, but it was an interesting one. Very intriguing, but throughout I always felt I knew what was going to happen in the end. But it did keep my interest throughout. The characters, to me, especially Megan and Ben, acted childish at times. Kind of whiny and it would frustrate me a little. This is why I gave it 3 stars. They just didn’t act like I believe people would act in the situation they were in. But all in all, it was a good book if you like mystery/thriller type sagas.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review with my honest opinion.
