This book is a quick and easy read. However, the characters are bland and there is absolutely no character development. The story is pretty straightforward and contains basically the short description. The characters try to have sex multiple times and it doesn't happen. The book ends with them having sex and thats about it. If you are looking for a story that is easy and quick, then read this. It just wasn't my cup of tea since I was expecting a little bit more.
"I glance down and mentally curse out my deranged dick."
Yeah, that title is an attention-getter, and I just couldn't resist it. This was my first time to read Ryan Ringbloom and it was a delight. A short, sweet, silly comedy of mishaps that could cause some embarrassment if you can't contain your giggles in public.
The witty banter is entertaining and the story moves so fast that it was over before I was ready. But, I'm happy to report that the series continues and there will be an opportunity to check in with this couple again in the future, though they won't be the main attraction moving forward. Nope, it will be another character that is responsible for a few of my giggles and I can only imagine what kind of trouble she stirs up as Whiskey Chick. This was the perfect lighthearted read that I needed to clear my mind of the cobwebs and give me a brighter outlook. At least I don't have "Wine Vagina," right?
This was such a good book I couldn’t put it down. I read it straight through. I got sucked in by the title and I’m so glad I did!! I’ve never laughed so much.
Paisley and Jax are just the best. And this story is just absolutely adorable. 2 people scared of flying, meet in an airport. Their flight happens to get canceled and they decided to drive together back home. They have an attraction to one another and this is where the comedy starts. You just have to read it. It’s soooooooo good.
WOW this was just an unexpected fun read! I love Rom/Com and Whiskey Dick lived up to all my normal "rom/com" expectations- I was laughing out loud throughout the book. I loved the two main characters and how they interact. There are moments that are awkward and silly as well as times when all I could do was shake my head at the situations that occurred. There are times when embarrassment leads to anger and others that had me rolling my eyes.
Jax and Paisley share a phobia of flying so when their flight is cancelled, they decide to share a ride back home as well as a one night stand. Unfortunately, Jax has some performance issues (I won’t say why in order not to tell too much) and the tension between keeps the book going. I had a hard time putting this one down because I was enjoying the angst between them. I can’t wait for Whiskey Chick and Remi’s story!
3.5 Stars. This quick, fun story had me laughing out loud several times. This author clearly has a great sense of humor, and that humor comes through well in her stories. I like a shorter, angst-free read sometimes, and that's exactly what this is.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing an ARC for review.
This was the first time I have ever read from this author and I enjoyed it, it was funny and I am now excited to get the next book. We meet Jax and Paisley who are both set to fly out on the same flight and both of them are terrified of flying so they meet under these circumstances and let me tell you that it was hilarious. Paisley was a fun heroine and I loved her she was great thru out story. And then there is Jax, OMG I laughed so much at his inner thoughts, poor guy could not understand what the heck was happening to him, here he is so attracted to her and his member is not cooperating. When they finally figure out why, it was on! I can't wait for Remi's (the evil twin) story..Ryan you have made yourself another fan! Enjoy!!!!!
This book was okay. There’s not much to it and the plot is pretty straightforward. There’s no real character development and no real back stories. The characters both came off as immature instead of being two 30-somethings. It’s pretty insta-love, too.
This book is a cute, fast, mindless read so if that’s what you’re after than give a shot. Unfortunately, I was hoping for a little more so this one wasn’t up my alley.
This book is short and to the point. Which, come to think of it, is kind of Jax’s problem in the book. The title tells you exactly what the story is about. Jax and Paisley meet sort of cute in the airport and make a decision that drives (literally) the rest of the plot. Honestly, there isn’t much more to the story than that. Both characters have good senses of humor, and their motivations and actions are, for the most part, believable. I breezed through this in a couple of hours, and it was a good little brain-break from real life. Actually, not unlike watching a 30-minute sitcom to relax. I would recommend it as such and give 3.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley for a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Awkward, romantic and soooo hilarious! I finished it in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. Jax and Paisley have such great chemistry. Sometimes it's hard to believe they've only known each other for like 2 days. This book made me laugh a lot and I'm looking forward to the sequel, Whiskey Chick.
If you enjoy "I Love Lucy" antics this book is for you, if you enjoy humor this book is for you and if you enjoy awkward and funny interactions...well, why haven't you picked up this book yet? With one miss step after another this is on hilarious book! The antics are done by both of them adding to the fun and confusion! Jax is flying home from Florida after a bachelor party, no big deal right? It is if you have a fear of flying, so his sister helpfully supplied him with a few pills to "relax" him sounds okay right, I mean when you get to the airport and your flight is delayed because of mechanical issues you need something right? When that delay becomes a three hour delay then maybe a drink or two would help more, and of course there's a bar conveniently located well it's fate right. When a cute girl is eye flirting with you what else is there to do but pick up on the invite.
Paisley is at the airport bar, waiting out a flight delay and maybe getting a little liquid courage for actually step on that flight, I mean a little fear is healthy right? Flying home from a conference in Florida was not big on her list but flying is quicker than driving back to Jersey, well it would have been if her flight hadn't been delayed. But when some eye catching handsome sexiness comes in to the bar her idle time is looking up.
When flirting and a flight cancellation happens so do possibilities! Two people who hate flying are both headed to Jersey, it's kismet right? Awkward flirt meeting, flight cancellation and no quick flights =spending the night before driving home the next day, why not join forces and travel together right? And while you're at it some fun in the bed too, Well, that's where it all goes awry-all excite and then puff it's gone-Jax has never had this happened before, it must be the whiskeys they drank earlier right, I mean it's never happened before! Well a night of failed sex, frustrations and strangers in a car equals a lot of unexpected funny time on a trip home!
Well I almost skipped this book because it's pretty short but decided to give it a chance! I'm so glad I did!! It was really really funny!! I definitely recommend reading this book! It was great!I read in the beginning the author said I don't write alphas i wouldn't even know how or something like that, I thought I read wrong?! I went back and read it again and yes that's what she said lol it's the total opposite from most author! After reading this I get it now! And this character is still awesome!! Ooooh and I totally loved that these characters had regular jobs!! That was great! I don't think I've ever read a story where the main character was a manager of a walgreens/CVS etc.!! That was great!! I liked that! Definitely don't miss out on this book yes it's short but I definitely got the whole story! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me
This book was a really quick and easy read. There were a few funny parts, but I didn't really get into the story. Jax and Paisley aren't stand out characters and they are quite immature for being in their 30s. I felt like there was potential with their backstories and how they got into their professions, but the author doesn't really delve into their personalities and their pasts. Jax and Paisley also suffer from insta-love, so there was very little development in their relationship. There isn't much to show how or why they like each other. Not very much happened, but since the story was so short, I was engaged enough to keep reading until the end.
This book is so funny and witty. The characters are great and their fear of flying is hysterical. This is a great quick read one that will have you laughing the whole way through. Nothing like an impromptu road trip and then all of the funny business along the way home, ends with two people falling in love.
Whiskey Dick is my first read from this author and it was an okay read. I liked both of the main characters Paisley and Jaxon, and I had a few laughs while reading this story but something was missing for me. I just could not connect with the characters and this read didn't leave me with a feeling of wanting to read the next story Whiskey Chick to get Remi's story or the progression of Paisley and Jax's.

I look forward to reading more from this author.
I started the book a little late in the evening and I had to stay awake until I finished it in one sitting.
I was hooked by the storyline, interesting conversation by the characters and situations that were thrown at them.
It kept my attention through the story and I liked how the characters were built.
I was laughing, grinning, at moments confused but all in all I loved the book and even this is my first book by Ryan Ringbloom it won't be my last.
One of the best Rom Coms I have read this year. I was hooked from the first page and I literally couldn't put it down. I loved the connection between Jax and Paisley and I even love the way they fight. I will definitely be checking out the next book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A cute and funny rom com about strangers , who both hate flying, meet at an airport, and have a wild adventure. All the time, they are falling for each other in a hilarious way. The title of this one hooked me in, and it was just as wild as I thought it would be! I laughed throughout the book!
This was a hilarious quick break from reality. Sometimes ridiculous, sometimes goofy but definitely engaging this quick read will endear you to the flight fear of Jax and Paisley.
