If you like the movie, Becoming Jane, you will like this graphic novel on Jane Austen's love story with Thomas Lefroy. I didn't like the illustrations or the story that much. But I will try anything Jane Austen, so there will be stuff that won't work for me.

This graphic novel is a simple black and white retelling of Jane Austen's life. Told in flashback the story focuses on her early life and her relationship with Tom Lefroy. The art work is black and white but suits the story. The story is a quick and easy read and is a good foundation for learning more about her life and her books. It is perfect for younger readers. Enjoy
When I fight with a story ("that person would not/did not behave that way"; "that didn't happen") it just leaves me cranky and I cannot appreciate a work on its own merits.
The work is beautifully done and I'm thankful for the opportunity to have read it
This graphic novel for the middle grade age level tells the story of Jane Austen's relationship with Tom Lefroy, but unfortunately doesn't share much more about her life. The writing felt stilted, but something may have been lost in translation.
This is a nice graphic biography. The pics are in black and white, which may not be eye-catching for some. The information is presented extremely well. This would hold the interest of those that are interested in Jane Austen, but not necessarily wanting to read a long bio about her.
This book is graphic novel reimagining Jane Austen's relationship with Tom Lefroy and her early career as a writer. It explores the limitations women had to live with and several ways that Jane ignored those societal norms and expectations. There are several pages at the end giving a short timeline of Jane's life as well as several paragraphs about her relationships and her books.
I think this book is a great tool to use when introducing students to Jane Austen and her works. It is a reimagining of her life in a nutshell as well as her relationship with Tom Lefroy, which no one knows much about. The illustrations are simple, yet effective in portraying the situations and emotions described. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Jane Austen's novels and to those who are just beginning to learn about her and her writing.

Pretty straightforward. It raised many questions regarding the authors perception of passion. Not only in love, but in life.
A different approach to Jane Austen in graphic novel form. A must read for any Jane fanatics.
I liked the approach & the illustrations.
