The Red Ledger, Part 1 by Meredith Wild was provided to me by NetGalley and Waterhouse Press for an honest review. Honestly? I couldn't put it down! It's a novella length book and I truly wished it was a full length novel and told the whole story. I will be on the lookout for Part 2 coming to NetGalley!

This book will have you on the edge of your set.... From the first word on this book, i was totally captivated. From Tristan's lost memory of Isabel being in his life to Isabel's unwillingness to give up on Tristan, they will have you glued to this book til the very end. But like the other Meredith Wilde books she leaves you wanting to know more. I can not wait to read Part 2 of the amazing series......... I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

A fun, quick read. A little bit formulaic but fun to read. Interesting characters and a fast paced plot, alternately told by the two leading characters. Kept my interest throughout and then left with a cliff hanger for the next book in the series.

This series is going to be amazing! Book one enthralls you right away and the ending makes you beg for more! Tristan and Isabel are fantastic....I fell in love with them both and can't wait to find out about Tristan's missing memories. Romance, mystery, suspense, action......this book has it all! Cannot wait for part 2! A must read!

Meredith Wild is a master story teller. Tristan and Isabel are childhood sweethearts separated by time spent in college and the military. Tristan has become a loner and lives his life without friendship and relationships because of his chosen profession. Isabel is running from her love for Tristan and trying to find a sense of peace. As she begins to find her footing in Rio and unexpected and familiar face stirs up memories of the past. Now that Tristan and Isabel's paths have crossed, will they find their way back to each other or will Tristan prevent that from happening.

Intriguing, mysterious, violence and sensual make these characters come to life in this must read book.

I absolutely love Meredith Wild since her Hacker series and I honestly could not get enough of the first book in the Red Ledger series. I thought Tristan and Isabel were sexy, mysterious and their attraction and connection was palpable!!

Isabel Foster is an incomplete woman, not fully whole since she lost the love of her life years ago. Now she is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil trying to heal from a loss she still feels years later. But when her former lover, Tristan Stone, reappears she realizes the man she knew is no longer the assassin in front of her. With the enemy on their trail, will Isabel be able to help unlock Tristan's forgotten memories before it's too late?

GAHH!! I was hooked on this from the getgo. I absolutely loved the story and seriously felt like I was watching The Bourne Identity right before my eyes. It was fantastic, sexy, mysterious and so addicting. Bring on book two because I am locked are loaded!! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

The Red Ledger Part 1 is a contemporary romance thriller that grabbed my attention from the beginning but ended abruptly. I did not realize this is a short part of the story and each "part" is only a few chapters at best. I would have enjoyed reading if it was the whole book and not just parts that are released at different times.

The Ledger is a fast-paced read full of action and suspense. I enjoyed the characters. I would have liked to have seen Tristan hold back a bit longer from Isabel since he is supposed to be a killer without a memory. Still a very enjoyable book to read.

Google the word cliché and you will find a picture of this book.

The hype and consistent rave reviews for this book (and series) had me so pumped to read it that I put off all of my pending reviews to dive into this one. I have never been so disappointed in a book in my life.

Based on the description and reviews I've read, I was expecting a fast-paced espionage type thriller. Instead, I got an eye-rolling Bourne Identity wannabe meets Harlequin romance (no offense to Harlequin intended).

Isabel is a troubled woman that has escaped her life in DC and fled to Brazil in an atttempt to forget the memories of the man she once loved, Tristan. Tristan, the typical romance novel tortured alpha male, is a soldier that has lost his memory and is now a hired assassin living in Brazil. What an incredible coincidence! And guess who his next target is? Go ahead, I'll wait. Seriously, what are the chances?

What follows is a cat and mouse chase from the bad guys that want Isabel dead, including four descriptive sex scenes. FOUR in a 116 page novella, because obviously running for your life always makes a person horny. Who knew?

Honestly I feel like I must have read a different book than the other reviewers. Perhaps NetGalley messed up and had me download the wrong one. Needless to say, I am not compelled to continue this series.

I was provided an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great start to a multi-part series. "The Red Ledger Part 1" sets up all the questions that will be explored in the following parts of the series. Why did Tristan lose his memory? How did he become a killer? Why is Isabel a make? What is the past and the future of their relationship?

Fast-paced and packed with action, mystery, and romance, this is a highly entertaining read. I am looking forward to rest of the series.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am absolutely hooked and can’t wait to read the next book! This is a great 2nd chance romance with lots of suspense & the story for Tristan & Isabel has just began! There story started in high school but Tristan ended it when he went in the army. Fast forward 6 years & they meet again only he doesn’t remember Isabel! I’m excited to see how they continue to get to know each other & reconnect!

This was a great start to what is going to be an awesome series. I could not put it down. Tristan and Isabel were once in love. Then Tristan is gone, joining the military. Isabel is heartbroken. six years later, Tristan has Amnesia due to head trauma and working as a contractor. He is sent to kill Isabel but something about her is familiar to him. When he hears her say his name he is in shock. Now they are on the run and Tristan will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

This book ends on a cliffhanger making you crave for more. I can't wait to read part 2. Thank you Meredith Wild for another great read.

Librarian: Nope, sorry not recommending this one for purchase. Even if we needed spy novels right now (which we don't), this one just isn't worth picking up. it just doesn't have enough substance to make it one I can easily recommend. Maybe if we had a few older students who were into spy novels. Or course they'd also have to be into romance novels. And be in at least 11th grade. These books aren't for anyone younger than that.
Reader: This is, admittedly, not my genre. I'm not a regular reader of spy or romance novels. But even if I was I probably wouldn't have enjoyed this one. There just isn't a ton of substance. Maybe if it had focused more on the spy aspects than the romance. But it didn't and the book suffers, because of it. Honestly it feels more like one of those puppy dog vampire romances than it does any sort of spy romance.

This is the first in a new series by Meredith Wild. Tristan is a hired gun and he is in Rio right now for his next target. Isabel is the person he was hired to kill, but things change when Tristan hears her say his name. He has to know why she knows his name and find out if she knows more about him. He does not remember his past and has been okay with that for a while now.

WOW! What a great start to this new series. Just when Tristan is set to kill, Isabel utters one word that seals her fate and saves her life...at least for now..."Tristan." How does she know my name? Every touch reveals more flashes into his past and now they are on the run. The ending will leave you breathless and wanting more and isn't that the tell of a truly great triller!?!?!

Loved this book very much. It had just enough suspense and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

Tristan works for a well hidden organization killing people. He writes their names in his ledger. He can't remember his past & never questions it either. He is sent to kill Isabel but something about her is familiar to him. When he hears her say his name he is in shock. Isabel was in love with someone & then he went into the military to never return. No one knows what happened to him or where he is. She was so broken over that. I love how Meredith Wild weaves the connection between Tristan & Isabel together & can't wait to read the next book.

Very quick read, that will have you ready for parts 2 and 3. This has a different feel than most of the other Meredith Wild books I've read before, but has all the writing elements that make it a winner.
