I wanted to take a look at this title because my students absolutely love origami. I found that some of these designs, while amazing, are a little too intricate for my elementary schoolers. I would love to see some experienced origami artists complete these!
Origami enthusiasts will love this book! I have done some modular origami programs, and find many that look wonderful, but require making the same pieces repeatedly before connecting them together. Then there's the whole glue controversy... But these are so fine! I'd make them anyway!
Very nice, is for the person who already understands oragami and would enjoy these more intricate designs.
Oh, Tomoko Fuse, you will always be my favorite modular origami expert, your folds are just clean and beautiful with an attention to mathematics and geometry that make my heart swoon. So, this book is an excellent example of some of her work, I would not say this is the ideal book for beginners to modular origami, but it is perfect if you are already pretty familiar with it. It revisits some of her well known folds and also showcased a few new to me (like her variation of the Bascetta star.) Not bad for a fairly short book (only 20 models) but a good addition to any modular origami-ists collection.
