Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book for review. I was eagerly looking forward to this book having read another book by this author earlier this year. There is a cast of characters who seemingly have no connection to one another initially but over time we see how intertwined they are. There is a murder to solve and as we learn, there could be many suspects. All the characters begin to have a connection to Tom, a headmaster at a local school and neighbour to some of the characters. The plot is great and is very complex and thought out, as we see, as the book continues. Tom, who presents as quite creepy, seems to have quite a charm with women. There are also some shady issues in Tom’s past that we need to learn about too. The first two thirds of the book are a bit slower but then it quickly accelerates. Another well written book by this author.
4 stars for this voyeuristic/obsession thriller! Lisa Jewell is quickly becoming an auto read author for me.
* Thank you to the publisher for providing an e-ARC through NetGalley
Lisa Jewel books are such a good multilayered thrillers! I love the little mix of dark academia vibes with the teacher plotline. Highly recommend this book!
Lisa Jewell never disappoints. Watching You is another fast paced, dark and twisty thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.
This was classic Lisa Jewell. I liked it a lot. The setting, like all of her books, seemed to be its own character. It wasn't my favorite of hers but I definitely enjoyed it.
Watching You was unfortunately a pretty mediocre read for me. I love Lisa Jewell books but this one for me isn’t one of my favorites of hers. The book seemed a bit on the slower side, and I didn’t get super into it until the ending. I liked the ending and it did make it worth reading the book. Overall, It is readable and a good story but it’s definitely not her best. I do have to say, I love the cover!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed are my own. This book held my attention and I really was interested in the outcome.
Another enjoyable and engrossing mystery from Lisa Jewell. While the story starts off slow, the author does a terrific job at building up the suspense, making it impossible to put it down. By the end, I was gasping in anticipation of the reveal of the murderer. Lisa Jewell is a mastermind!
Definitely not my favorite Lisa Jewell. I am a big fan so I will still continue to read her new stuff but this wasn't one that I felt compelled to recommend to other people. Definitely check out her other titles including The Family Upstairs.
While not my favorite of Lisa Jewell's books, it still lived up to her signature claustrophobic neighborhood setting and well-written relationships.
I've read several Lisa Jewell novels - which I have enjoyed. The beginning of this novel was quite slow. The story was good, but it just did not grab me.
Lisa Jewell has been a staple on my bookshelves since her debut way back when. I will eagerly read every page she writes for as long as she continues to write. Watching You was definitely in my "can't put down" category of books. Lisa kept me guessing as usual, and this was a solid storyline that anyone who is a fan of suspense would enjoy.
My favorite Lisa Jewell book so far, "Watching You" was impossible to put down! Jewell tells the story through multiple perspectives, and the characters she creates are interesting and flawed, but by far the most interesting component of the novel is how Jewell managed to connect so many characters. The twists in this novel kept coming right until the last page. Overall, an amazing thriller!
Why is it that in books like this, most of the main characters are so icky you just hate them from the very beginning? The synopsis was a bit boring through about 3/4 of the book, and then the last quarter finally picked up. I knew "whodunit" long before the end. Not super thrilled with this one.
Lisa jewell is such an amazing author. This was another great mystery that kept me guessing until the end!
Thank you NetGalley and Atria books for an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A twisty thriller that winds you through the neighborhood and keeps you guessing. Another well written mystery written by Lisa Jewell that will keep fans wanting more.
My only complaint is keeping all of her characters straight, With so many possible guilty characters, I find it difficult to keep everyone's stories straight in my head. Which is why I went with 4 rather than 5 stars. However, by the end I find the story is crystal clear... I just hate feeling a little lost in the middle.

Well this book was VERY slow to start. I almost gave up after the first chapter but I stuck with it. Once things finally picked up, there was a laundry list of hypotheses I was running through, trying to predict the ending. Well unfortunately, the end left me a bit confused. I don't care for mystery/whodunnit books where I need to look up answers to my questions. It was just kind of an exhausting book - lots of characters, unanswered questions, an none of the characters were really all that likable to begin with.
Watching you by Lisa Jewel is certainly a very well written thriller with well developed characters that work well with each other. I enjoyed reading this book and found it to be very fast paced, hard to put down, and with an ending that the reader does not expect.
I recommend this book to everyone and the audio was absorbing as well. I appreciated the characters, the setting was on point and it created the perfect story. I liked its pace and how it made me feel the need to get to the ending in a good way. Greatly enjoyed!
I love Lisa Jewell...every book I’ve read makes me love her more. Well written with a great plot line, developed characters, and lots of fun twists and turns. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next book!
