I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I could not get into this book, even though I tried several times.
Just no, I had so much trouble getting theough this book and the insta love/obsession plot was really hard to get past.
Alright let's be real for a moment, I feel bad for not posting a review when this book released last year. I didn't post a review because honestly I couldn't get into the story. At first I thought it was something with me and my reading preferences at the time, but after the fourth time of picking this novel up and trying to read it, I have to give up.
I made it through to the forty percent make and then skipped to the sixty five percent mark before making my decision on dnf-ing this one.
When I read a book that has 'captive' in the title I expect a few things. I expect this book to be seriously dark, I expect the captors to be twisted and intriguing, and I expect a storyline that will keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the novel.... Sadly, I didn't get any of this.
The only person I remotely liked in this novel was Reed. He had his moments where I was left hanging on the edge of my seat, but he never actually had me falling out of my seat, if that makes sense.
Overall, I went into this one with hope that I would be sucked into yet another amazingly dark and twisted read, but sadly that wasn't the case. This one was a big no for me. I expected more from this novel and to be honest, some of the content I couldn't get past.
Everly is pregnant, alone and trying to start a new life. Brothers Reid and Zane become obsessed with her and decide to take her for their own. This is a good story and an enjoyable read.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
I didn't care for this book. Even though Everly days agree feel Inn love with Reid and Zane they took her against her will as a captive. This is just wrong! And their first night together they take her. Why? If they were so in love with her, why not be with her the right way? This was not my type off book.
Everly is a college student that has had her heart broken by a former professor and is now looking to a future where she may one day learn to love again. Zane is a friendly construction worker, working on a project at the bank Everly works for, when his secret obsession with Everly leads to drastic measures. Zane has been talking about Everly non-stop to his brother, Reid, with whom he shares women. Reid finally decides to see for himself if Everly was made for the brothers. Fighting their attraction to Everly is no longer an option. The brothers decide to take Everly and hold her captive until she begins to see that their future is one that was meant to be together. Filled with suspense, submission and love, this is a must read!
A sweet and steamy smoking hot romance book that will leave you breathless and wanting more from this author. A great introduction to this author. I can't wait to read more.
Everly is a pregnant college student who is attracted to her substitute professor as well as one of the construction workers at the bank she works at. She finds out that these two are brothers when they kidnap her from the bank she’s working at. They keep her in a secluded island to work at convincing her to stay with them. Eventually she comes around and realizes that she loves them just as much as they love her.
This was a first read for me by this author and I found it a little slow to get into the story.
I did like the characters but just found the pace of the story too slow
Everly is in the process of getting her life back together when she is kidnapped by Zane and Reid. Will she escape or will her captures convince her to stay. This is a fast-paced read with lots of drama and suspense. It is on the dark side and may not be for everyone. The story has plenty of twists and turns with a lot of steamy. I loved it!
Pregnant and heartbroken Everly is trying to turn her life around and get a fresh new start..
Brothers Reid and Zane will stop at nothing to have Everly and give her whatever she needs.. Their gentle touch makes it easy for Everly to submit and give them everything.
Back to Black by Katerina Winters was an interesting story. The book starts out with Everly and her everyday life. Two men are in the story a construction worker who is nice and a bit Alpha and a substitute professor who is dark, intimidating, and very Alpha. I found myself intrigued and a bit confused as to what exactly is going on here. Well, these two men are brothers who kidnap her and take her to their isolated cabin on an island because they tell her that she is theirs. Again, interesting twist. Everly first tries to get away from them, but eventually falls for both of them, when she discovers that she is indeed perfect for them. I thought the first part of the book was great and the interesting, the middle was okay, and the end was okay. It felt like two different people wrote this story. An interesting story that was a bit disturbing in its concepts of what was acceptable behavior. I gave it three stars due to the intrigue in the first quarter of the book.
An okay fiery romance with some plot. I liked the premise but the follow-thru lacked some depth. Overall good writing.
Story line is great and I loved the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Unexpected twists and turns had me reading this book in one sitting. Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read!
"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Everly had a harsh Life. She had lived in the secluded community and with Her Life tuning upside Down due to Her pregnancy. More plot would spoil The read.
Especially when There is not a lot of plot besides triggers. This read was dark and for się not for everyone as its giving with a lot of triggers - abduction, not wholly consensual sex and keeping woman against Her will.
Reid and Zane are using barbaric methods to get to Everly (one as Her professor and The other one as her coworker).
Will There be an HEA for those three? How will their story follow? No one can be sure what will happen between them.
Everly Pengram managed to escape her strange upbringing only to fall foul of a manipulative college professor who abandoned her when she fell pregnant. She picked herself up and started a new course in another town and vowed to do her best by her future child. She works at a bank where she meets Zane an intense but roguish construction worker, but not is all as it seems. Intense storyline.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Back to Black started off as it seems every other book seems to, but when you get further along this book outshines. Your introduced to Everly Pengram and her substitute professor. The chemistry between the two is amazingly written. Then you follow her to work where she has amazing chemistry with a construction worker. As the book moves forward things fall like dominoes into place and Everly is whisked away unwillingly to a place in the woods where she learns what she thought she knew, were lies and misdirected truths. I received this as an arc through Netgalley.
I highly recommend this book
Interesting!
Definitely not your typical boy meets girl love story. The way the boys go around to getting the girl is freaky but they all find their way to a wonderful HEA.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
I feel this story would have been ok if it was all consensual. But I just couldn't get past the part were they rape her. I enjoy MFM but this went too far. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.
Quick read. I’m not sure how I feel about this story. The heroine grew up in a polygamy abusive family where personal choice was not an option. She was fortunate to get out but due to a number of factors , most notable, she soon found herself in a situation of being pregnant and alone. Having caught the eye of two brothers, she was kidnaped, again no choice, but somehow grew to love them. It’s great she got her HEA but she was not given a choice.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
