This was a cute and sweet read. I enjoyed this book for many reasons one being the characters were amazing and you feel their chemistry. Alex was a sweet and loving man that deeply cared for Logan. Logan wen through a pretty traumatic event that left her heartbroken but she came out on top and learned to love again. Being from Raleigh I loved reading about some of my favorite places in the city and also learning about a few new ones, this weekend I am so going to Mami Nora's this weekend. I'm not going to lie at the beginning it is a little slow to get into because it is so descriptive especially about her new job but once you get into the heart of the book its really great.

On July 24th 2018 'Raleigh Bound' from Rita Rose was released. This contemporary romance has about 200 pages and you can buy here*.

Logan Shaw has sworn off men. Being left at the altar will do that to you. She spent years living in a town she hated, slogging through a demanding, dead end job. But once her fiance left her on their wedding day, Logan took her life into her own hands. She found a better job and a better life in Raleigh, NC. Everything was going great, until she met Alex.

Alex is everything she's ever wanted. He's handsome, kind, funny and passionate. Will she be able to keep to her pledge to stay single forever? Or will she succumb to the love that grows between them? How do you fall in love when you're afraid of getting of hurt?

Can he save her from herself or is she destined to live in the shadow of her failures for good? (Homepage*)

Time for a new adventure! This is my first book review in a foreign laguage. Please be patient with me and if you see any big mistake, please just let me know, so I can better in future.

Logan was dumped on her wedding day. Being left alone at the altar makes her do some thoughts. She swore of men. She is pretty sure she has. She found a new job in a new city. Everything seems to be good. But there are men too..

This is a kind of 'normal' story so far. But I liked the calmness especially. This is a story which could happen to everyone of us. At least the story AFTER being dumped at the wedding. There is no big drama included and the plot just seems to be real.

I did not have that much problems with the language and style of writing. But it was not like 'Oh, I forgot, this book is written in english, I just flush through it', like I had with 'It ends with us' by Colleen Hoover. It may took me a minute per eBook page, which is slower then with a German book. But I do not want to claim.

I was only like 30 pages into this book and I already loved Logan. She seemd to be so strong on the outside but we all got to know, that she is broken on the inside. And this is such a normal behaviour after being heartbroken.

Sometimes I wished to be more into the story. I really like the characters, but as it is not written in an 'I perspective' they all seem far away with their thoughts. I did not feel them always. We are just a tiny bird over their heads..

As a short story during my time in the train, 'Raleigh bound' was lovely.

Thanks to Satin Romance and NetGalley for this copy.

I was looking for a quick read to occupy my free time during a business trip and so glad Netgalley offered up Raleigh Bound. It was wonderful to hear the love for Raleigh and gain a new writer friend in Rita Rose. I thought the story was fun with some heart and I kind of liked her main character (Logan Shaw, dammit). It was a simple and uncomplicated read with simple and uncomplicated characters. I thought it entertaining and would be willing to try another Rita Rose story again.

Raleigh Bound is a Contemporary Romance novel about finding love and starting over again after major heartbreak.

The book opens with our main character Logan Shaw getting left at the alter by longtime boyfriend/fiancée Ed.

I have to say, this book started out really strong. I loved Logan's Character in the beginning. How she turned a really shit situation into a positive experience. I found myself wanting to be her friend. She came off as a strong female with an awesome sense of humor.

As the story progressed and Logan made her move to Raleigh, North Carolina something changed. She became closed off and judgemental.

Enter the Love interest. Likeable but nothing that makes him stand out. I wanted the author to make me want him too lol. Instead I was more like ... meh.

I had to put this down about halfway through. I appreciate the plot and this book had great potential but for me it fell flat. Maybe the book would have gotten better If I had continued. There is also another possibility. I could have struggled through the other half and it would not have been fun.

It just wasn't for me

I am from Raleigh and I really loved reading a book that captured so many of the great things about my home town. I like it when a book has a sense of place and I can feel like I’ve visited somewhere new. This time it was seeing my own town as the site of a romance novel and that was fun for me. And I can testify that the chicken at Mami Nora’s is as delicious as it’s described.

The characters were fun also. The book starts out as so many romances do with the bride getting dumped on her wedding day. The heroine, Logan, decides to get a new job and move to a new city from her home in Northern Virginia. When she reflects on how nice it is to be somewhere where she doesn’t have to worry about parking or an hour and half commute to work, I can really relate. Every time I visit D.C., I marvel that people can live like that compared to the ease of living in Raleigh.

Logan takes a job doing marketing and sales for a sort of sports smoothie drink that really does sound rather nauseating and her new company is so fitness conscious that they work at treadmill desks. I didn’t even know that was a thing. It sounds exhausting and distracting. She meets a very sweet guy, Alex, who has just recovered from his own failed romance. New job, new life, new city, new guy, what could go wrong? Nothing really. It’s all smooth sailing.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
