Shari takes us back in time with newspaper colum extracts about her two boys, family life, Glasgow, Christmas, holidays, back to school and the minutes of family life. It’s fun, funny, familiar and eminently readable.

Thank you net galley for an advance reader copy of the novel. This was a hilarious, laugh out loud portrayal of motherhood. I loved it! The author captured true to life moments perfectly. The book flowed well and kept my attention throughout. Highly recommend this to all parents!

Because Mummy Said So by Shari Low is a compilation of stories that this author has published over a ten year period documenting adventures and misadventures of raising two sons.

Being a mother to two boys of very similar age as the boys in the book I could completely relate to things this poor mummy is going through.
With as many laugh out loud as cry your eyes out moments this is a real, true, from the heart tale about every day life of stay at home mom.
I am delighted that someone has finally decided to tell the truth and show other mothers that they are not alone and that very few of those perfect mothers actually exist. The society had impressed upon us the feeling of inadequacy if we, our children, our houses and our partners are not absolutely perfect.
It is so refreshing and entertaining to read a book that tells a truth.

Hilarious!!!

The book is a compilation of stories about the authors life with two small boys over the years... as a parent of twin boys I could certainly relate.
I read it in one sitting as I just could not put it down... some many laughable stories but so true to life.

I would definitely recommend if you're a parent and need a really good laugh... this is the book to read.

Thank-you to Netgalley for my ARC.

This book is a compilation of stories that the author wrote in her column about her life with two small boys over the years. Some of the stories are laugh out loud and some I completely identify with as I am currently in the depths of parenthood with a 4 and 7-year-old. Then other stories are a bit hit or miss for me.

I’d imagine if you’re a fan of the author you will very much enjoy this book and or have/currently experiencing the whirlwind of being a mum. I am keen to read the fiction books that the author has written as I did enjoy her sense of humour.

While I didn't expect this to be a non-fiction, I found myself laughing quite a bit while reading! Shari Low nails so many points in this book that it's hard NOT to relate to everything she says. This is a fun, enjoyable read, and I wouldn't mind giving it to fellow mothers that I know.

This really is a laugh out loud book. As such, i advise against reading it in church, on a busy train or whilst pretending to listen to someone talking.
Is it so true to life and so funny i really couldnt put it down.
Shari Lows style of writing and honesty is unbeatable.
I had planned to add a funny quote from the book, however after highlighting 27 suitable funnys before I'd even reached the end pages I decided not to attempt to choose one . You'll just have to read it for yourself!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An amusing light hearted read that most parents can relate to.
I think it’s a nice memoir for her boys to keep.

Absolutely awful book. I hated it. I gave up 40% of the way through it. Very disappointed as I usually like this authors books. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s non fiction that I didn’t like

Witty and acerbic, Shari Low never disappoints. She is acutely aware of the highs and lows of raising two boys and is frank about it. Quick and hilarious read.

Admittedly, the cover of this book got me! I love a good “mommy” tale and was hoping this was more along the lines of Class Mom or the like. Not realizing this was true, short stories, I decided to go for it! Cute, fun and a reminder that motherhood goes by fast!!!

Ah this was a fab pick me up from Shari and had me chuckling away to myself reading the tales that her boys got up to and trying not to laugh too hard as I recognised my own versions of these episodes.

Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
