A fun read that combines action-packed steaminess with a healthy dollop of humour, this latest from Tiffany Reisz is a perfect little taster set in the Original Sinners world.

At its heart, the romance between the lead characters, Jason and Simone, is very sweet with both characters coming across as sincerely good-natured souls that you can't help but root for. Partly due to its nature as a stand-alone category length erotic romance, this has a slightly different and more light-hearted feel to the Original Sinners series, but can be enjoyed both by fans of the series and newcomers to Tiffany Reisz' works.

Those familiar with the Original Sinners series will enjoy the glimpses of Nora and Soren, particularly in the included short story, "Flogging 101". For newcomers and those who find the prospect of reading an entire series daunting, this goes down like a nice aperitif and will give readers a taste of Tiffany Reisz' writing style.

This one is a quick read as once you've started, you won't be able to put it down!

"Had she ever met a man who was harder on himself than her kinky cowboy?"

I've read and loved many Tiffany Reisz stories. I never know from what direction she's going to approach a story but I do know it's gonna be kinky. She never fails to entertain me and make me fall in love with her characters. They always have colorful personalities and their witty banter is very amusing.

This story was very original. It was softer and sweeter than what I'm used to. I found myself getting very attached to the cowboy and I caught myself smiling many times as I read his POV. I especially enjoyed meeting the kinky girl of his dreams right along with him. Seeing her through his eyes and being privy to his thoughts and feelings as he yearned for something that he'd never allowed himself to explore previously.

Reuniting with some of my favorite Original Sinners characters was a treat. It made me sigh in remembrance, tempted to go back and read their story again. You can't go wrong reading anything this author writes, she's an auto-click author for me. I've traveled the world with her and I've gone from dungeons to barns. If she writes it, I'll read it. The line forms here...

WOW- this book was a lot more than what I expected! When you read BDSM in the synopsis or as the genre, right away you think it is going to be just about sex. But, Picture Perfect Cowboy was a lot more than that!

Picture Perfect Cowboy is also a love story- that includes themes dealing with acceptance and being honest with yourself about what you really want! Not only do you get a sweet love story between Jason and Simone, but you also get plenty of kink!

This one is all kinds of hot and kinky. Not too bad of a quick story for a quiet afternoon. Simone was Jason’s shiny new toy for dipping his boots into the kink world. He had heaps amount of guilt for feeling the way he did and Simone got him to break out of his shame shackles. There’s no shame in the kink game!

Oh dear. I have such mixed feelings about this book, it's hard to know where to begin. First of all, I love Tiffany Reisz's work. However, due to some unfortunate content in this book, I feel she has broken my trust;

I know a LOT about horses. I've had many of them. I've owned, trained, showed and generally loved them for much of my life. I tell people sometimes (jokingly) that I "grew up in a barn." So when an author describes something about horses or training horses with enough authority that the general reader would take it for fact, and yet I find it false, I have a hard time believing anything else in the book.

The whole part about Jason training horses for kids in need is very sweet and shows he's a good guy. However, TR makes a big point, not once but twice about a horse licking a treat off someone's hand. Horses do like to lick tasty things now and then, and they have very specialized muscles in their tongues. However, they do NOT eat that way. A horse would use its lips or teeth to pick up a cookie. Is this a picky detail? Absolutely. However, she also tells us in great detail about dom/sub practices about which I know nothing. I figured they were all true, but now I wonder if I've been just as badly misinformed.

Horses are not big dogs. They do not behave like dogs.

Another huge issue I have with Jason's training is that he gives a pony to a kid who has never been on a horse before. He doesn't make sure she has some serious riding lessons first. He just says to her that the pony is now hers, and to take good care of it. THIS IS UNCONSCIONABLE behavior. No one would take that much time, effort and expense and just turn the kid loose with the horse. Does she have ANY idea how to care for it? Who knows? Since she doesn't seem to, it made me very uncomfortable. There are plenty of other horse-related details that are faulty, but I'm not going to list them all.

My point is, although the basic story is rather sweet. and the characters are nice people, I had such a falling out with the author at around the midway point in the book, I had a hard time enjoying the rest of it.

My favorite parts of the book were when Eleanor and Søren show up. It was like visiting with old friends. I loved their humor and their conversations. Sadly, there wasn't enough for my taste.

When I got to the very end, I discovered this was previously a novella that had been published with a different title. So, apparently, the author saw fit to expand the story into more of a full-length novel. Perhaps this explains some of her reluctance to flesh out various parts of the book, but it doesn't excuse making up stuff and foisting it off as factual information.

There is much to enjoy about the book, and I wish I could have given it 4 or 5 stars, but I just cannot do it.

Thank you, NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was good, not great. 3.5 solid Stars.

I’ve read virtually everything this woman writes. Especially if it has any relation to The Original Sinners series. Everything shines if Soren, Nora or Kingsley are involved.

This book, however, didn’t even have the feel of that series- almost felt written by someone other than Mistress Tiffany. Most of her heroes or heroines have personality. Wit. Something that endears them to me. These two were just kind of blah and their D/s relationship seemed very vanilla with a side of ho hum.

Don’t get me wrong. I still liked it okay just not the love I have for all other books by Tiffany Reisz. Her bar is set high in my standards. If Kingsley’s has even a five word cameo, I’d have loved it I’m sure!

Picture Perfect is a perfect blend of sweet, sexy, sassy, and naughty! Jason "Still" Waters, former World Champion Bull Rider, now leads a quiet, lonely life on a horse farm in Kentucky. Raised a true, conservative gentleman, he struggles to keep a tight rein on his darker desires . . . until he meets Simone, a quirky, pink-haired photographer (think naked men + calendars!) and a pro-sub and "sub" sub (think Soren!). Simone is sweet, loving, giving, and confident in her own skin. She knows who she is and what she wants and has no qualms about going after it. When their paths cross at a calendar shoot, sparks fly - each recognizing something in the other that causes Jason's darker fantasies to roar to life as he considers whether he can take what he wants and still be a "good" man. He didn't fear climbing on the back of a pissed-off bull dead set on goring him to death, but can he accept the consequences of coming out of the closet as a Dominant? Including losing his family's respect?

Picture Perfect is a story of self-awareness and acceptance of ones self - of giving yourself permission to explore your own sexuality freely without worry of condemnation by others. The plot line isn't complicated, but it delivers an encouraging message of hope, love, and peace that comes with embracing ones inner self and finding the strength to overcome fear of adversity. As always, Reisz delivers a story that sizzles with sexual chemistry and desire, but more than that, she opens the door to the heart and soul of these two characters and invites readers in to witness first-hand their inner struggles and turmoil. An appearance by two of the OS masters, Soren & Nora, is sure to delight fans of the series as will the bonus short story "Flogging 101" with a lesson in flogging-done-right delivered by Soren. This is "light" erotica at its best served up with a healthy side of romance and humor! A Must Read!

I love Tiffany Reisz, queen of kink--

I *adore* Jason and Simone. They met for the first time when Jason came in to replace his friend for a naked calendar photoshoot, where Simone was the photographer in charge. They connected almost straightaway, mostly due to Simone's kind and gentle ways of putting shy and quiet Jason at ease. I love how matter-of-fact Simone was with the kink part of her life, which is also how she managed to get Jason to open up about the struggles he had been having about his dominant desires. Most of the issues Jason had about dominance stemmed from his strict upbringing and his complicated relationship with his father. The little time he spent with Simone opened up his mind towards accepting who he truly was, and I love how Simone helped him come to terms with the fact that there was nothing wrong with wanting what he wanted.

Also Nora and Søren made cameos in this one! I still haven't read the Original Sinners but I knew of them so some people would have loved to know this fact. The scene where Jason met them both was my fave because I too am scared and in awe of them at the same time.

The only issue I have with this book is the cover..................................I don't like close-up covers LOL.

Such a great read!

What happens when a submissive photographer meets a dominant professional bull rider? I can tell you the first rodeo is full of sexual attraction, self confidence, lust, angst, and pleasure. When you want or need something that is outside what you think of feel is the norm, conflict always rises until you realize is ok to want different things as long as it's consensual.

This was a nice, short read; specifically for me on a Saturday afternoon after a long, ugly week at work.

This is set (loosely) in The Original Sinners world; our heroine Simone, tattooed with pink hair, works as a photographer but also at (you guessed it) The 8th Circle as a sub. Simone is taking erotic photos of sexy men to be included in a calendar for charity.

Jason “Still” Waters is a retired rodeo champion-tight jeans, cowboy hat – the works – who reluctantly agrees to replace a friend who had agreed to pose for the calendar. As the photos are being taken, Simone manages to get Jason to drop his guard and relax. He finally admits that he would be interested in her services as a sub.

I loved our heroine Simone, and her confidence in who she is. She is not ashamed of her lifestyle and not afraid to share it. Jason, on the other hand, fights his dominant urges (his “kinks”) because of probably what anyone else would worry about – family. Oh my, what will the family think?? Plus he wonders… is there something wrong with him for feeling like he does?

What follows is how Jason and Simone spend the next few days, and how Simone draws out of Jason his feelings and urges without making him feel “wrong” for those very things. She is encouraging and of course, non-judgmental. There is some guidance from her as well, as Jason has not acted on his urges.

I just found the book to be wonderful; not just for lovely, erotic, hot love scenes. It is nice to read a book with these kinds of themes that have characters who feel no shame in their kinks and anyone who has problems with it can just fuck right the fuck off. Your life is yours and if you want to enjoy your kinks and/or fetishes, then you should do it. That, I feel, was the very real message of this book.

Ok this was a luke warm 3.75 for me. I got more excited when I read the word Soren than I did about Jason "Still" Waters. Jason's character development was spot on. Great use of feeling, dialogue and scenery. He was sexy as hell. But he was just too vanilla, slow and meek. I missed Tiffany's writing style. But this book is like a kink how-to-book. I didn't really dig the heroine either, pink tattooed gal from the big city. Who was a professional submissive. How can a submissive teach a dominate how to kink and still get pleasure? It was a stretch for me, dog. Then she knew all the players from the past Sinners crew. I rather see a huge spinoff of Michael or Soren with someone completely new.

So my unsolicited advise is to create a new Soren character, make him as strong and sexy but the opposite of him. Or just come up with another Sinners book. If this had been my first ever Kinky book then maybe. But it was to orchestrated for me. It flowed well. But it was too slow.

DNF

I've enjoyed other books by Ms. Reisz, but not this time. Looks like I'm in the minority here. I have tried four different times to read this, and every time I get bored and put it down. I don't see the chemistry, and for a cowboy, former bull rider he's a wimp.

4 stars!

I read the first three books of the Original Sinners series several years ago. While I appreciated the writing, they were a bit out of my comfort zone. Picture Perfect Cowboy held my interest from the start. I loved both main characters, especially Jase. It was unique for this type of book for the make dominant character to be the least experienced. I found that unique and refreshing

I have loved everything I have read by Tiffany Reisz but I especially love her category length romances. This is a fun, sexy, fast-paced read read with a lot of kink and a lot of happily ever after. Fans of Reisz will love this. Picture Perfect Cowboy is a very steamy novel and will not be for everyone but it is still quite romantic and definitely a great addition to your romance collection.

Only thing I didn't love about this book is the cover. (Liked it, but didn't love it.) Jason and Simone are dynamic characters, both lovable and flawed. I felt every bit of Jason's hesitancy in certain situations, and Simone's open-minded approach was just right. Their connection sparked and blossomed so naturally. Love how they incorporated some heavy-handed elements of BDSM and still kept a light-hearted connection between them. It was a beautiful and organic balance.

I didn’t realise when I started reading Picture Perfect Cowboy that is was BDSM novella; well hallelujah what a treat! Even though it is listed as part of the Original Sinners series, it is easily read as a standalone and thoroughly enjoyable too. I loved Jason and Simone’s characters and the storyline wasn’t about heavy BDSM, but more of a fun, sexy and loving description of domination. A quick, easy read with real chemistry and emotional foundation depicted in their relationship. This definitely won’t be my last read by Tiffany Reisz.

Erotica with a solid love story

Tiffany Reisz hits it out of the park with this super sexy and sensual story about a closet Dom and the Submissive who coaxes him out. Jason is a retired bull riding champion now operating a horse farm in rural Kentucky. Simone is photographer and open Pro-sub. When Simone gets assigned to photograph Jason for a charity calendar shoot, she senses more about Jason than his conservative exterior displays. It is a story of coming into your own with a spicier twist.

This is Jason's story of how he comes to terms with his inner urges and fantasies, which up until now he's kept very secret. He battles with accepting his own desires and resolving his internal conflicts. Simone is confident and reassuring. She calls to Jason's emotional side and builds his confidence doing it between pillow talk and sultry times between the sheets. Their relationship builds fast, but I could feel the true connection between them.

I found this story great balance between all the sexy times and building a solid plot line and ended up reading it in one sitting!

BONUS: the extra bonus scene at the end was a pleasant surprise! It's a BDSM lesson that includes Soren and Nina from the "Original Sinners" series.

One of my favorite things in any book is a strong heroine and this book definitely had that. I loved Simone. She was unique, fun and completely knew herself. She was who she was and made no apologies about it. I found her strong and refreshing. I loved how she wanted to guide Jason and help him see there was nothing wrong with what he wanted. Normally in erotica especially with BDSM it is the man who’s far more experienced and is introducing his female partner to this lifestyle. It was unique and fun to read the opposite.

I found Jason completely relatable. I think many people have darker interests than they would ever say publicly and add in being from the Bible Belt and raised in a strong religious household it’s absolutely going to cause an internal conflict.

For an erotic romance this also had a really sweet vibe to it. You could feel the attraction from both characters and also the vulnerability! I loved how both had distinct “voices”. You could hear the cowboy in Jason when reading his dialogue and I absolutely love that!

Overall this was really well done, I loved it and I want to read more in this world! Maybe Luke gets a book? Can’t wait to read more by this author!

Overall rating: 4/5 This is a very sweet story with a kinky edge

Heroine (Simone): 4/5 She is a professional photographer by day and a ‘pro submissive’ by night. Simone is out in Kentucky for a photo shoot but is from NYC with bright pink hair and has a desire to teach a kinky cowboy what the bedroom has to offer.

Hero (Jason): 4/5 He is a world champion bull rider that gave up the sport after a serious injury and now trains horses for trail and therapy work. In the bedroom he’s a Dom that has never had the chance to fulfill his desires for fear that no girl would be into it.

Plot: 4/5 A cowboy is brought through a BDSM sexual awakening with a New York City girl after she comes out to Kentucky to take photos of him for a charity calendar.

Personal Review: This was my introduction into Reisz’s work. The internal struggle that Jason has over the ‘morality’ of his BDSM side was interesting, I’d never read a story where the main character going through a similar sexual awakening resisted it mentally quite like he did. But, it made sense for a man who grew up with Southern values (he’s from Montana which shares a border with Canada but he grew up on a farm with a conservative family) to resist his desire to be dominant and a bit kinky in the bedroom. Overall this book was a fun, read where the characters are for the most part isolated and were just allowed to explore each other emotionally and sexually.

This has more to do with my own desires but I couldn’t get behind Simone’s eagerness for her Dom’s to leave marks on her, specifically bruising. I’m all for her doing what she likes with her partners but it just didn’t sit right with me that during some of her play her whole goal is to wake up with bruises the next day and pose for artsy photos with them. With the stuff that her and her partners do, of course there will be at least some bruising but I just didn’t like that it was an intended goal of the night.
