I accidentally read Blazing fire first and I got to say that I liked it more than Lighting fire. I am happy that I read them out of order because overwise I might not have read continued with the series if I had only judged it from the first book. I did not like Chase at all. He was cocky, arrogant, and too full of himself for me to actually like him. Sookie was much more likable and I am kinda sad that she ended up with him. Chase stepped up his game later on, but my opinion of him didn't change much, so it's still not good.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the first book in a series. Sookie is an independent helicopter pilot, who falls in love with Chase a junior firefighter. It's a cute fast paced book. 3.5 stars

I cannot get enough of this author and this series! Each book is an intense emotional and SEXY storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book!

Chase knew he was in love the first time he saw Sookie. He felt how irresistible she was in a single glance. Being related to his Chief definitely was an issue. She was the ice to the fire the roared inside him. They would work together to help fight the fires that were consuming the countryside and protect her small town. Great start to a new series!

An entertaining book, but not one of my favorites by Leslie North. I feel like Chase was a bit too arrogant for my liking.

Enjoyed this first book in the series with Sookie and Chase. Page turning action torn from the headlines.

Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Thank you to NetGalley, Leslie North and the publisher for an ebook copy to review. As always, an honest review from me.

Lighting Fire is a quick intense steamy read. Sookie and Chase meet while fighting an intense wildfire. Sparks fly but they are determined to not get involved for a multitude of reasons.

The setup is fairly typical not that it’s a bad thing, but I was hoping for a bit more depth and less cliches. I think my main critique is that Chase is such an arrogant player. And the male ego between him and his boss, also Sookie’s brother, is ridiculous. Let women make their own choices without men being possessive and judge about it. Even though Chase has another side to him, it’s still not enough to make me fully enjoy the story.

The romance is almost as hot as the forest fire burning outside though. Chase is a very attractive firefighter. Need I say more? Sexy times are also very intense and well. done. But they’re broken up by a lot of drama, brooding and male possessiveness.

A book with mixed elements for me. Some good, some okay and some problematic. If you want a quick steamy read, then Lighting Fire is for you. If you’re looking for a bit more depth and in line with feminist ideals, then maybe consider something else.

This book is just brilliant. Loved this book and I am loving the start to a new series too. The characters kept me hooked right till the end. Really enjoyed the storyline and the characters especially Chase Kingston. Who wouldn’t, hello Firefighter lol another fantastic book that was an absolute pleasure to read. Looking forward to book 2 in the “Californian wildfire firefighters series”.

I loved this book. It is such a sweet but steamy read. I love firefighter books. The characters are very realistic and go together so well. The chemistry is great between them. This is my honest review for an ARC from Netgalley.

Sookie flies helicopters for the National Guard, and guards her heart intensely over past hurts. Fighting a fire in Sookie's hometown isn't the only thing she will fight, when her brother Hank and his firefighting crew come to town. Chase fights fires, is a hot playboy, then moves on to the next fire and the next fling. The sparks are fast and furious between them from the first meeting. A bit of drama, then a quick HEA, there isn't much in the way of depth to their romance, but it is a short fun afternoon read. I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "Lighting Fire". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 3.5 Stars!

When firefighter, Chase, volunteers to leave his post in alaska and tackle a wildfire raging in Cedar springs, he leaves with his boss and a crew to take action. Soon the pilot, Sookie, grabs his attention and his heart but with the raging fire outside, Sookie’s brother causing problems and their no strings fling all getting out of control will it work out?

This is the first of Leslie’s books I have read and hell it won’t be the last! Loved it. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review

Highly entertaining, sexy fun, sweetly emotional and engaging romantic adventure filled with so much passion and heroic action...... could not put it down, was riveted to my eReader from beginning to end.

Sookie Logan is a sexy, smart, fun and awesome helicopter pilot .... Chase Kingston is a sexy, charming, fun and off limits firefighter who works for her brother. Loved this exciting and engaging late night reading experience.

Lighting Fire is Leslie North's first book in a series about wildfire firefighters fighting a forest blaze in Cedar Springs. This book focuses on the relationship between Sookie and Chase. Chase is a player and Sookie is a helicopter pilot. Though their relationship road has obstacles, love is worth it.

If you are looking for a quick afternoon read, this book is for you!

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

What a fun romance with a bit of drama added in as they are fighting a raging fire. Chase and his fellow Alaskan firefighters traveled to California to Hank's home town to help out. When Chase sees the sexy helicopter pilot, he is intrigued until he finds out that she is Hank's sister.

Since they both are gun shy about relationships, they feel that they can have a no strings fling until things get complicated.

There was a great HEA and I am looking forward to the next book in the series and still want to see what happens with Hank and Lana, and the coming fire.

If you like your stories hot - this story is it! Sookie and Chase meet as a result of a call out for volunteers to help battle a raging forest fire. Chase is a newbie with his group and Sookie is a helicopter pilot. Their relationship starts out rocky, both suffering from their past, but through hits and misses they discover there’s more to explore. There’s an element of excitement the author does incorporate about battling the fire without overwhelming the reader with details that could detract from the story. Very enjoyable and look forward to reading more. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I voluntarily reviewing it.

This is the first book of this series and it was a nice read. The plot flowed smoothly and it sets the scene for other books of this series. I enjoy the dual POV that the book is written in. Getting to know Sookie and Chase and their journey to HFN was a pleasurable experience. The book is one that I would recommend to anyone who loves to read first responder (firefighter) romance.

Both Chase and Sookie have been scarred by romantic entanglements in their pasts. And, while they’re highly attracted to each other, neither one is prepared to take on a series commitment. Trying to work together to fight a wildfire while juggling their affair and other family dynamics leads to some unexpected complications that could either bring them together or tear them apart. There’s not much I love more than watching fate take down a pair of lovers who are determined to keep everything between them a light string-less fling. Because, I know that fate loves nothing more than a challenge and the universe laughs when mortals make plans. This pair has cornered the market on snarky banter and their encounter scenes are hotter than the fire they’re fighting. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley.

Lighting Fire was an unexpected delight. I really enjoyed the story and that it gave us a chance to know each character. Kudos to the author for giving us flawed male characters willing to show emotions, talk about trauma and pain. Also giving us a female copter pilot for a protagonist. This is the first in a series and I look forward to the next installment.

Lighting Fire is a easy very predictable romance story by Leslie North. I found nothing to be profound or remarkable about these characters and couldn't help but roll my eyes several times while reading the story.
Sexual tension, than sex and more sex and somewhere there is a story in their about two people who find it difficult to trust anyone.
I have found for this reader personally that Leslie North is hit or miss with me.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Leslie North Lighting Fire
