A Brand New Ending is the second book in the Stay series by the talented Jennifer Probst. I’m loving this new series and these characters. This is a second chance romance, one of my favorites! We already met Ophelia and I knew her story was heartbreaking. She and Kyle fell in love as teenagers. That all-encompassing love that's meant to last forever. They decided to leave town and head to Hollywood to fulfil their dreams. Kyle a screenwriter and Ophelia a singer. Kyle's dreams came true and their relationship and love got lost in the shuffle. She went home and took over the family Inn and that was that. Until Kyle needed to return home to write. He had to be there to do what needed to be done. He never forgot Ophelia and he wanted her back. Ophelia isn't going to let him get to her again. She had a life she loves and he's a pain in her arse! But he's still so handsome and she can't help remember all the love, laughter and sparks they felt. Can Kyle get Ophelia to fall in love with him again? What happens when his job gets in the way? I loved this story! Ophelia is strong, funny and determined. Kyle isn't going to give him. He wants a second chance. Overall, I swooned, laughed, teared up, got hot and bothered and enjoyed every word. I loved seeing Ethan, Mia and Harper again! I can't wait for more of the series.

He knew if he reached out to touch her, she wouldn’t be able to fight her reaction. Their bodies still belonged to each other, no matter how many years had passed.

Awwww A Brand New Ending was all kinds of sweet. I am a big fan of second chance romances, and I just flipping adored Ophelia and Kyle's second chance.

I need to go stay at the Robin's Nest B & B pronto. Very homely and sweet and did I mention that that were cookies?

Ophelia and Kyle's story is one that had all the emotions. Hate, lust, hurt and most of all love.

I wanted to shake some sense into Ophelia at times for not listening to Kyle as he was trying to talk to her about what happened in the past. I could understand why she was all "nope, not gonna happen" however I also needed her to listen.

Kyle is all kinds of lovely. I loved that through the story he was telling in the story, he saw things in a different light.

I enjoy a story that is family based, and Ophelia's family are a lot of fun. I am particularly a fan of a character named Hei Hei - if you have read the first book (or watched Moana at any time) you will get what I love about him.

I enjoyed our lovelies story from the beginning, and adored seeing their story from childhood to present.

It was wonderful to see more of Mia and Ethan from the first Stay book, and I am looking forward to meeting the man (or woman) that will bring Ophelia' sister Harper to her knees.

Please don't make me wait too long.

I know I'm in the minority but I just coukd not get into this book. I didnt particularly enjoy the first one so I had hoped this one would be better but I don't think it was.

The story has a good premise. Kyle, Ophelia and Ethan grew up as friends. At some point, Ophelia and Kyle fell for each other. They hid it because Ethan was Kyle's best friend and Ophelia's brother.

Kyle's dad was a real SOB. He was verbally and emotionally abusive to Kyle his whole life. Kyle's mom died giving birth to him. She made the doctors save the baby at the cost of her life. Kyle's dad wanted his wife saved at the cost of the baby. Kyle's dad becomes a drunk as a way of trying to deal with his anger and pain. What he did instead was alienate his son.

Kyle has always loved to write and had won awards for it. Ophelia always loved to sing. Kyle wants to run away to LA after graduation to become screenwriter. He wants Ophelia to come with and become a singer. He won't go without her. So Ophelia decides to go because she loves him and knows he needs to get away, that there is no future in their town for him.

They run away and get married in Vegas but live in LA. Kyle hits it big in LA and Ophelia has an opportunity to sing on a reality show. But she isn't happy. She tries to talk to Kyle but he isn't around. When he is, he pushes her off proming later, which never comes. Ophelia is at her breaking point. She needs to talk to Kyle but he pushes her off again. He promises he'll be home that evening but he never shows. So Ophelia leaves and goes back home. When he finally gets home, Kyle was surprised to see that she had gone and blames her! He is quite the oblivious jerk.

Ophelia returns home to run the family's B&B. Her heart is shattered but she knows she has to move on. She never tells her family that she and Kyle married. She only says they had a big blow-up so she came home. They thoyght they got divorced but they were actually conned and the paper were never filed.

Kyle has had a writer's block for the last year or so. He comes home to write his and Ophelia's story, 8 years later, as a last ditch chance to make their relationship work. Clueless much? He plans on staying at Ophelia's B&B and her brother, Ethan, actually agrees to this. Another clueless one! When Kyle gets there, he seems shocked that Ophelia says no to his staying and sends him to sleep on her brother's couch. After much whining from the two men and Ethan getting his girlfriend involved, Ophelia agrees to allow Kyle to stay but tells him that he cannot interact with her. He shows that he still can't listen and tries to get her to talk. When they finally have it out, he's shocked to find out that Ophelia blames him. Again, clueless much?

"This story drove me nuts. Kyle never seems to really get it. He says he does but actions speak louder than words. You'll have to read the story to see what finally happens.

I would have given it 2.5 stars but I couldn't so I chose to give it 3 instead. I really dislike giving books less than reviews. I know how much work the authors put into them. But I felt that this book could have been more.

Heartwarming original story of love and life.

I really enjoyed Jennifer Probst's first book in The Stay series The Start of Something Good and was eager to read book two A Brand New Ending. The story was even more wonderful than I could have imagined. Ophelia and Kyle had amazing chemistry and were well developed characters whose personal growth moves the story along. Along with their relationship we got a glimpse into the secondary characters lives including Ethan and Mia the main characters from the first book. The importance of family, friendship, forgiveness and love shone throughout the book. I can hardly wait to see what the author has in store for her readers in book three. This book can be read as a stand alone story, but I encourage you to read both of the books currently out in this series. You will be glad you did.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.

A Brand New Ending
Jennifer Probst
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a beautifully written and told story. If you love deep, gut wrenching and real stories this is a must read. Jennifer created a beautiful story of new endings, new beginnings and loveable characters.

The story of Kyle and Ophelia is as much powerful as it is personal, I think everybody in some way feels their relationships to be. Growing up together the pair had a relationship we all wish for, best friends and eventually young lovers, Leaving their home and moving to Hollywood, for the famous life. See Kyle Kimpton is the new IT boy in Hollywood as an up and coming screen writer. He had it all, money, fancy house, cars, parties…. But with those material things, Kyle lost what should have been the most important – his wife, Ophelia Bishop.

Ophelia was sure that moving and marrying her childhood sweetheart was the perfect opportunity, she wanted to pursue, singing in Hollywood, until like we always hear, they change everything. Hair, skin, clothing, weight… All the things that made Ophelia who she didn’t want to be. What was a beautiful love story, turned to horror when Kyle chose Hollywood over his wife. Leaving her with no other option but to return home to rural New York and her family’s B&B.

Fast forward 10 years and Kyle is returning to Robins Nest, and his return may be great for his best friend Ethan, but seeing Ophelia is his top priority. His home town is a mishmash Of Emotion, his 1st and only love, while his alcoholic father whom treated him like a lepper, the worst thing that happened to him. Under the guise of telling his newest story, he will walk head first into a bees nest. Ophelia is anything but happy to see him, but under that entry scowl, her feelings towards him are still very clear and very raw… He broke her so badly, and now he wan s back into her life. Not a choice she can make lightly.

Kyle knew returning home would life changing, but winning Ophelia back, while telling their story he sees sides of what they experienced together, making everything so much clearer. In a road with so many pot holes, unmarked lines, and unexpected turns, Kyle will open Ophelia’s heart to a new beginning. Like all stories, there are so many moments of smiles, tears and heat… but the underlying story was just beautiful. Never give up your dreams….

Ophelia and Kyle are high school sweethearts who ran away to make a better life for themselves. He was going to be a screenwriter in Hollywood and she was going to sing. They get married in Vegas on the way. Things didn't turn out like they thought and Ophelia comes home to run a bed and breakfast. Eight years later, Kyle shows up at the door and wants a room for a few months. She resists until she feels guilty and lets him stay. They are divorced and it has been a long time. Kyle has writer's block and thinks going home may help. He has another story to tell and needs peace and quiet to do it. The attraction is still there but Kyle has a life in California and Ophelia loves her life the way it is. Will they be able to work it out? Is love enough? I thought this was a great book and I read it in one sitting. I loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. I received this book from Net Galley and Montlake Romance for a honest review and no compensation otherwise, The opinions expressed are my own.

Ophelia Bishop was a lovestruck teenage girl when she and Kyle Kimpton chased their dreams to Hollywood. Kyle’s dreams came true. Ophelia’s did not. When Kyle chose his career over their relationship, Ophelia returned home to rural New York to run the family’s B & B—wiser, and more guarded against foolish fantasies. Now Kyle has come crashing back into her life, and all her defenses are down.

Kyle can’t think of a better place to write his latest screenplay than his hometown. After all, that was where he met the heart of his inspiration—his first love. He knows the damage he’s caused Ophelia, and he wants a chance to mend their relationship. If anyone can prove to Ophelia that happy ever afters aren’t only for the movies, it should be him.

As much as Ophelia’s changed, she still has feelings for Kyle. But her heart has been broken before, and she knows that Kyle could run back to Hollywood at any time. She gave up her dreams once, but maybe she can dare to change her own love story…one last time.

Reviewers Kristen Donnelly and Caz Owens decided to team up to review Jennifer Probst's A Brand New Ending.

Caz: It’s no secret around here that I don’t read much contemporary romance.  I’m not completely sure why - they just don’t click with me - but I do pick up one occasionally, just to see if I can find one that will hook me and reel me in.  I enjoy second-chance romances and liked the premise of A Brand New Ending – an ambitious young man who achieved success without realising exactly what it was costing him returns to his home town and his first and only love in order to persuade her to give him another chance.  It doesn’t break any new ground, but it’s well-written and the central characters are engaging and well-developed.  Have you read this author before, Kristen?

Kristen: I have! I enjoy Ms. Probst - she’s a fairly reliable author for me, as one of the resident contemporary lovers around AAR. While this series hasn’t been as strong for me (minor spoiler alert), I haven’t read anything to make me break up with her.

Caz:  In an email conversation we had while we were both reading, I said that I was quite bored by the first 25-30 percent on the book, and that I was finding the heroine to be all about the drama.  What I meant was that the author held back from telling us exactly why Ophelia had fled Kyle and California eight years earlier, so it was hard for me to buy into what came across as very exaggerated reactions to him.  It felt like I was expected to take sides (hers) without knowing all the facts of the story, and that rubbed me up the wrong way.

Kristen: I can totally see how you’d feel that way. I too felt that we were expected to completely side with Ophelia, which felt especially discordant since most of the rest of the characters were Team Kyle. I have a pretty big and well documented pet peeve for disliking having A Big Secret as the main plot device and this plot pacing flirted with my patience on that front, I can’t lie.

Caz:  That said, things started to pick up for me once Kyle realised he was looking at things only through one lens (his) and that he needed to see and then write Ophelia’s point of view.  But the thing is that the sections that purport to be his insight into Ophelia’s point of view are so obviously authorial inserts, that it didn’t really work.  Kyle’s supposed insight was too perfect to be his interpretation of her thoughts.  He needed to become more aware of her feelings, yes, but the way the author chose to convey that was such an obvious contrivance that I couldn’t buy into it.

Kristen: Yeah… the real downfall of this book for me was his book within a book. There is no way that I buy that this guy was writing action movies a hot minute ago and then this just poured out of him. Plus, if he was this emotionally intelligent, I’m not sure we’d be here in the first place.

Caz: Yes - especially given we’re told they ran off to Hollywood at what, eighteen?  And it seems that Kyle got his break not long after that, so he was incredibly - and unrealistically - young, I think.

Kristen: Also. Why are we holding up Nicholas Sparks as a romantic role model? If this boy is smart enough to read Shalvis and Proby, then he knows Sparks ain’t no romance! I growled at that part.

Caz: Hahahahah!  I have to say, that occurred to me, too!

Did Ophelia work for you as a heroine?  I have to say, I found her to be just a tad too perfect.  She was running a guest house that sounded like a boutique hotel, providing perfectly timed snacks, perfectly baked cookies, perfectly prepared breakfasts, bending over backwards to accommodate the most demanding of guests’ food choices without even having to go out to the shops… and she ran this place pretty much on her own with a bit of help from a woman who came in for the odd day here and there.  Whatever she did, she was perfect at it.

Kristen: Except she wasn’t perfect at being someone I could be friends with! And yes, she was hella competent, but I also saw a woman who couldn’t be emotionally vulnerable with anyone, who was closed off even from herself, and needed a lot of love. I have no idea why Kyle was so into her, to be frank, she seemed to be a bit of a pill. I didn’t get any sense of rebuilding a relationship of who they are as adults - just that they were in love once and shouldn’t they still be in love? Does that make sense? Do you agree?

Caz: Yep, that’s spot on. The thing I enjoy about second-chance romances is seeing two characters who, for whatever reason, didn’t work before, get to know each other and fall for one another all over again.  That just didn’t happen here.  After eight years apart, you’d expect them to have been different people, but nothing of that came across, and it was, as you say, as though they just picked up from where they left off before things fell apart.  I was actually far more invested in the story of Kyle’s fractured relationship with his dad and whether they could actually repair things between them than I was in the romance.  I liked the part she played in bringing the two men together, and that she was upfront with Kyle about the fact that she’d been keeping an eye on Patrick;  and I liked the parallel the author drew about the need to forgive, which applied to Kyle and Ophelia in terms of their relationship as well as to Kyle and his dad.  The book’s epilogue was one of those rare ones that wasn’t full of babies and fluffy bunnies, which I really appreciated, and I freely admit it brought a lump to my throat.

Kristen: I love a few addicts myself and so much of that story rang true to me. And yes, that epilogue just slayed me. I was reading it on an Amtrak train and sighed loudly enough that the woman behind me asked me if the book was that good! I told her not really, but the author stuck the landing.

So, overall, I’ll give this a B. I had fun while I was reading it - there’s something about Ms. Probst’s prose that draws me in - and she nailed the most difficult part of the book, but I didn’t love a lot of Ophelia and didn’t get a sense of growth from her. You?

Caz: I don’t think it’s a book I’d feel comfortable recommending to a fan of contemporary romance, especially someone more widely read in the genre than I am.  I’m going with a C+, mostly because of the Kyle/Patrick sub-plot and that sucker-punch of an epilogue.

A Brand New Ending is well written. I enjoyed the plot, characters and writing. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital arc this is my unbiased review.

I had enjoyed the first book of this series, so I was excited to see Ophelia get her story.

I really liked Ophelia. I loved her resilience and her loyalty. She’s so full of love and genuinely cares for people. It was refreshing to be in her head. Kyle is charming and maybe a bit wrapped up in himself, but he sloooooowly starts to see things differently. Ophelia and Kyle do have some chemistry, but I didn’t quite see the reason they each pined away for the other.

Plot wise, it was good. I was expecting loads of drama and it wasn’t like that. I liked the flashbacks in the format of Kyle writing the book and while I wanted more banter and sweetness, I loved that they were together for most of the book.

Overall, it was a quick and sweet read. I’m eager to see if Harper is getting a story next.

**Huge thanks to Montlake Romance for providing the arc free of charge**

Ophelia left home at 18, and returned two years later to help run the family’s B & B, taking over after her mother’s death. Her brother and sister noticed that she was ‘different’ and not quite herself, but she never shared the reasons why. Making her guests feel special and bringing her family together for dinners once a week, welcoming Mia and Chloe into the fold, and living her life, she’s content and has found some sort of happiness. Until her brother asks for a 3 month stay for his childhood best friend Kyle, who needs a place to write his next screenplay. Clearly saying no without explanation, when Kyle arrives on her doorstep she’s thrown back in time, trying desperately to cling to the hurt and ‘coolness’ that will keep him at bay, and shuttles him off to Ethan’s cottage where he, Mia, Hei Hei the guard chicken, and two dogs live – he can stay on their couch.

Kyle needs to return to his hometown to write the story he wants – to relive the memories of his relationship with Ophelia, until it all fell apart and she left him in Hollywood, alone. He’s also got a secret that he needs to share with her – but she won’t even talk to him. With Ethan’s place being overcrowded and Hei Hei deciding he doesn’t like Kyle, and Ethan’s reaction to Mia spotting Kyle naked in the bathroom doesn’t go well. So Ophelia relents, girding her defenses and not allowing Kyle back in. She can set up rules, guidelines and keep him at arm’s length. The only problem is, she doesn’t want to – but she won’t be hurt again. And Kyle hurt her, badly.

Oh this was so sweet – Kyle was trying desperately to get Ophelia to notice him, and talk with him – and trying to recapture what they once had – but it isn’t until he starts to see that what he believed were her dreams for herself weren’t – and he was as much (if not more) to blame for their relationship imploding than he’d thought. He’s working hard to break down Ophelia’s walls, and she’s just scared to risk it again. And she’s hurt, never getting the apology or having him recognize that he choose work and fame in Hollywood over her. When a chance encounter with Kyle’s father, a man who chose alcohol over his son and friends, brings her to see that the man was different and trying to make amends as he worked on his own sobriety, she also sees that there is a healing in forgiveness – and with Kyle still holding onto resentments from childhood, and her own anger with Kyle need to be sorted and settled. Even more than her relationship (or lack of) with Kyle. The back and forth is strong in this one – with electric chemistry that leaps off the pages, the revelations that Kyle is finding in his writing of their story, and his recognition that Ophelia remembers his ‘quirks’ and is constantly challenging his every belief – they’ve got to work through much, and he’s got plenty to prove…… Second chances never looked so good!

I received a copy of A Brand New Ending written by Jennifer Probst from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This is the second book in her Stay series but can be read as a stand-alone. However, the first book was wonderful as well.
Ophelia Bishop and Kyle Kimpton were high school sweethearts who ran away together to chase their dreams. Ophelia returned, alone and broken hearted to her small town and family and fell into a contented life. Kyle stayed in Hollywood and became a hot shot only to realize that something was missing. Now, 10 years later, Kyle has returned to write a script and win a second chance with Ophelia but she puts the walls up and stays distant. But Kyle remains patient and consistent and ultimately, both give their relationship a second chance. But Kyle has to return to Hollywood and Ophelia is afraid of a repeat. Can their relationship survive the separation or will someone follow their heart and follow their love?
Probst weaves a wonderful story about second chances and characters realizing where they went wrong and what was right. She doesn't allow Ophelia to give up her identity and I love that. Ophelia is quiet and peaceful as well as kind and considerate and it was great to see a character like that not have to "come out of their shell." I also loved the ending because so many times, it's the opposite of what Probst wrote. What that is though... I'm not telling. With a wonderful story filled with heart and Probst giving props to her writing buddies, it was a delightful read. #ABrandNewEnding #NetGalley

I loved The Start of Something Good but I loved A Brand New Ending even more! It’s emotional and sweet and full of the #feels! Jennifer Probst outdid herself in this book!

As you know, I am such a fan of second-chance romance and the brother’s best friend trope. This book has BOTH! So, it definitely had me from the start!

In A Brand New Ending, Kyle, a popular screenwriter is back in his hometown and is trying to rewrite history and win the love of his life. Ophelia and Kyle ran away to Los Angeles to pursue their careers, but Ophelia gave up on hers and returned home broken-hearted.

I really loved that the hero is the one chasing after the girl this time. And while this is a tried and true plot, I like the slight changes that Jennifer Probst used to spin this plot. I also liked the fact that Ophelia stood her ground and did not cave right away even though she still had feelings for Kyle.

A Brand New Ending is also about forgiveness and redemption. We get Kyle’s backstory and how he became what he is. And I also loved the decisions he made in the end.

Another amazing animal character in this book is Charlie, the senior Black Labrador that gets fostered by an unlikely character! I agree that animals can heal even the evilest human being so yay for this!

Jennifer Probst weaves an interesting and heartbreaking romance that ends in an amazing and surprising HEA! I highly recommend A Brand New Ending!

I loved the previous book in this series and was so disappointed in this one. The hero ruined the story for me. He was so obtuse. For the first half of the book I was rooting for the heroine because all the points she was making were valid and I was actually proud of her for ignoring him. He turned into an 80s romance hero with all his talk of making her his again. It seemed to me like he just got his dream and he knew he had a wife waiting for him in the wings that he could come back to when it was convenient for him. The setup of a story within a story (rather than flashbacks) was interesting but it became too contrived for me at the end. Especially with the drunk father redemption. It was some pretty terrible emotional abuse to recover from in two meetings. I'm really looking forward to Harper's story and hope it can capture some of the magic the first book had.

When Ophelia and Kyle fell in love in high school, they made plans to leave immediately after graduation to California. Kyle wanted to become a screen writer and he also kept telling Ophelia that she could make it big singing. At first it was tough, but Kyle started writing scripts for action movies and Ophelia tried out for a singing competition. The only problem was Ophelia was very unhappy. The producers for the show wanted her to lose weight, dress differently, sing pop songs, everything that she wasn’t. As much as she tried to talk to Kyle about it, he was always busy and couldn’t understand her unwillingness to try harder. Finally she had enough and went back home to upstate New York to run the family bed and breakfast.
Ten years have passed and Kyle is now a famous screen writer and very wealthy, but it’s not about the money or the fame anymore. He’s never stopped loving Ophelia so he returns and decides to stay at the bed and breakfast operated by Ophelia Except she doesn’t want anything to do with him. He just needs to convince her he’s serious about his intentions and his feelings, but will she give him another chance.
This was a beautiful love story told by the queen of romance. I loved it!

This is a marvelous story of second chances. Most stories like this just jump in and delve on the second chance pursuit and courting of the lovers. This story goes deeper into discovering not only how their lives have changed since they were last together, but also analyses what happened in the past that drove them apart.

Ophelia has grown and become responsible for running the family B & B in the last 8 years since she walked away from Kyle. She is organized to a fault while making the inn a very successful enterprise.
She is blown away when she finds Kyle on her porch requesting a room for three months. He is a successful screenwriter in Hollywood and has come back to his hometown to write his next script. Now, be honest, would you let your ex stay with you after 8 years apart? Not many women would! Follow Ophelia and Kyle as the re-connect and deal with all the frustration and baggage of their breakup and separation.

This is a moving and indescribably beautiful story of two characters who fell in love too young. They both experienced fame and disillusionment. Forgiving others cannot happen until they each face their demons and forgive themselves.

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I thank the author for sharing a copy with me.

Ophelia and Kyle ran away together when they were 18 to get married and make their dreams come true. Kyle wanted to be a screen writer and Ophelia wanted to be a singer. Kyle's dream came true and he became a Hollywood icon, but Ophelia ended up coming back home to run the family's B & B leaving Kyle in California. Eight years later, Kyle has writer's block and comes back home for inspiration to write. He wants to stay at the B&B for 3 months and Ophelia reluctantly agrees because her brother begs her and nobody knows that her and Kyle got married ... and she wants to keep it that way.

This book just blew me away ... I couldn't put it down. I loved that Ophelia and Kyle's story from when they were young was told through the novel that Kyle writes. The emotions in this book are so raw ... I laughed, I swooned and I cried! The characters are just so real ... it took Kyle 10 years to see Ophelia's side of the story. I thought it was kinda ironic that Kyle wanted a second chance from Ophelia, but he wasn't willing to give his father a second chance. I highly recommend this series and I can't wait for Harper's story.

I received an ARC courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

A Brand New Ending is Jennifer Probst at her best! Ophelia and Kyle are young love, second chance with forced proximity and a touch of secretly married; it’s trope-tastic! But at its heart it is a story of forgiveness, self-discovery, and the power of love, with some perfectly timed humor and sexy times to keep things from getting too heavy.
I loved watching Kyle realize the mistakes he had made while Ophelia owned hers against the backdrop of their small town, family, Hei Hei, and Patrick’s journey. I can’t wait to revisit the family for Harper’s story!

Ps. There is a fun Easter egg regarding the Ladies Who Write group of authors and there fictional LWW Enterprises!

I love this new series by Ms. Probst and enjoyed seeing Mia and Ethan again. This story is about Ethan’s sister, Ophelia, and her childhood sweetheart, Kyle. As soon as they graduated high school, they ran away to California to pursue their dreams. Unfortunately, Ophelia returned home two years later, disillusioned with pursuing a singing career in Hollywood and her life with Kyle. She never shared with family and friends that she and Kyle had married.

Kyle’s childhood homelife was terribly painful to read about but he used that to work to become an amazing screenwriter. When Kyle returns home to try to end his writers block, he has no intention of seeing his father. This was such a poignant part of the story knowing more about what his father did to him and how he’s changed. Forgiveness isn’t easy to give even when you know what caused someone to act a certain way.

Eight years after Ophelia left Kyle, she is still heartbroken but is living her life the way she chooses and enjoys running her B&B. She has a special talent in taking care of her guests and when Ethan invites Kyle to stay at her B&B to write, she is fiercely against it. Kyle wants to write their story as a book and then to make it into a screenplay. He struggles with various parts of the story as many writers do and Ophelia feels like he’s using her to help his career.

Their chemistry is still strong but both have their own views on their relationship and the end. Ms. Probst wrote a compelling story that even when you love someone, that doesn’t mean that you understand their feelings or put them first. I was glad that Ophelia didn’t jump right back into anything with Kyle especially since she knew he would leave again for his career.

As Kyle continues to write and he and Ophelia become intimate again, more details of their thoughts and feelings come to light. I enjoyed being able to read portions of the book and how it helped Kyle see things in a different light.

I loved the ending and how it wasn’t just a quick fix. Kyle is amazing, especially because he loves to read romance books, but it took him a while to figure out that he just didn’t understand what Ophelia wanted. It was a sweet, sad, and sexy story that gave me my HEA while being realistic. I also love dual POVs, especially how it helped to understand Kyle.

It was fun seeing Hei Hei again and he always makes me laugh. Ethan and Opehlia’s sister, Harper, is a mystery on why she lives the life she does so I’m looking forward to her story.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to read this story.
