Now I really wish they had used the cheesy and adorable phrase of write a brand new ending in the book alas it was fine. This is book 2 in the stay serious however both are strandalone and you don’t miss much of the story by not reading it in order. I feel if you read it in order you are really interested in Ophelia’s story and have more investment. This story is about Ophelia and her long lost love Kyle. She never lost Kyle she left him because he lost himself. Ophelia and Kyle rand off to Hollywood to be writers and singers and Ophelia found out Hollywood wanted more than a singer and her husband was wanted by Hollywood more than he wanted her. This story is about Ophelia’s pain and loss she experienced as well as Kyle’s determination to win her back. What holds me off on this is Kyle’s character. I didn’t enjoy it. He was written in lovely and most of the boxes were checked with me but I feel their story didn’t have a good enough resolution for me for me to bond with his character which caused their story to be a tad flat.
This book however has great stream, conversation and growth and is a feel good romance and gives happy endings as is traditional with the author

This book is the second in the Stay series. I listened to the audio for the 1st, A New Beginning. It was nice breezy listen. No real angst or conflict other than the heroine, Mia, and the hero, Ethan, not liking each other at the beginning, which always leads to hot, passionate, great sex.

This book was different. There was definitely hot, passionate, great sex but Ophelia and Kyle were real. This book is young love, adult love, innocence, pain, forgiveness, 2nd chances and truth.

This story is more than just about the hero & heroine its about how we can get so caught up in trying to prove our worth that even the love we have and need can be ignored for the elusive brass ring. Kyle learned that the hard way, through empty success and 8 years of loneliness without Ophelia. Ophelia learned that past circumstances don’t have to hold you back or predict your future. Sometimes you can have what you need and still keep your dreams on your terms.

The sub-plot with Kyle’s father was gut-wrenching with this reader wanting to strangle him and hug him all at once for the pain he caused himself and Kyle. This was an emotional story centered around love and family. At points you’ll laugh, like when Hei-Hei attacks Kyle. LOL! Then you’ll cry when Kyle reads his dad’s letter.

I’ve listened to Jennifer Probst’s books before and I’ve never been as moved as I was with Kyle & Ophelia’s story. Harper, Mia, Ethan and even Charlie (who makes only a brief appearance) are all in the story because you need your family and can’t have bro-time or a girls’ night out without your crew.

If you haven’t guessed it by now I loved this book and can’t wait to read Harper’s story. I wonder what kind of person is going to be able to break through or tear down her walls.

INCREDIBLY MOVING...JUST AN OUTSTANDING BOOK! The story Jennifer Probst delivers in this book will fill you with so many emotions all throughout. For me, at the end of this book, I cried...the ugly cry! The story of Kyle and Ophelia starts when they were kids, and blossoms then fall apart and maybe blossom again but Kyle needs to get out of his own way. Then learn about forgiveness on multiple fronts.
This book is so very good and so worth your time to read.

What do you do when the man you ran away with at 18 suddenly comes back 10 years later needing a place to hide out so he can write his next successful screenplay. Ophelia owns the B&B her Mom ran and was the family business. Kyle her high school sweetheart and her brother's best friend. Her brother doesn't understand Ophelia "hell no" reaction when he asks her if Kyle can stay there for 3 months while he writes his next success.
The two took off for California telling no one and got married while they were in Las Vegas on the way. Things worked out fantastic for Kyle, not so well with Ophelia and while he was getting lost in his work and new found fame, she was slowly sliding off his radar and finally out of his life. She went home to work at the B&B. She owes him not one single thing. The story tells us how she saw it and how he (barely) saw it and why she barley tolerates him, although the chemistry is still there. I didn't like Kyle. There wasn't one dang redeeming quality about the guy and I loved how Ophelia made him slither like the snake that he was, trying to get back into her good graces. Kyle also brings a little surprise along home with him, one he knows won't make Ophelia happy and it doesn't. The story unfolds in snippets over three months that he is there, writing his next blockbuster. When she finds out its their story.... incredulous. Kyle's thread unravels. Slowly and surely. And when he needs it, O gives that thread a good yank. She's a kind and giving woman, generous and puts others before herself and has a backbone which was a delight to see in a book these days. Kyle still didn't do it for me. I'm sure there will be many who like him, but I wouldn't have given him a second look, much less let him breathe the same air. Wonderfully woven story with deep character drive and well developed. Loved it. It's a must read.

I loved the storyline, loved Ophelia and the supporting cast of characters, but I could not connect with Kyle. And it kills me because I wanted to love this book because I love Jennifer Probst's writing, but he is just not a likable character to me. Which is funny because as much as I didn't like Kyle, I loved Ophelia. I admired her strength in denying him in the beginning and her ability to forgive in the end. She has a good heart and tries to do right by everyone.

All in all, the book is impeccably written and Probst did her job well to evoke that strong of emotions in me, so I would definitely recommend this book. Especially to those that love second chance romances.

Having read and enjoyed the first book in the Stay series, I was looking forward to the next installment. However, this book can totally be read as a stand alone. Ophelia and Kyle were each others first loves, so it was only natural that they thought they would always be together. However, at 18, they had no idea just how much life would end up coming between them and their dreams. Fast forward ten years, Kyle realizes just how much he needs Ophelia back in his life.
This was a heartwarming second chance romance that highlights the writing talents of Jennifer Probst. I really enjoyed how we got to know the back story of the couple, at least from Kyle's perspective, as he wrote his screenplay. In a sense it created a story within a story. One that kept changing as Kyle tried to write their love story as a screenplay but with a new and hopefully better ending.
Looking forward to Harper's story along with more LWW references in future books.

Jennifer Probst delivered a really good read. This is the first book I have read in this series. Kyle is Hollywood screenwriter who lost himself in trying to please the Hollywood big wigs. He decides to return to his hometown and his lifelong love, Olivia. He also returns to face past pains and hurt in hopes of a better future.
Kyle and Olivia's characters went through a lot of growing curves and you could see the strong development.
I loved their romance and of course their journey back to A Brand New Ending.
Thank you, Netgalley.

Another delightful holiday read featuring Ophelia and Kyle - two childhood sweethearts separated by fame, fortune, mis-understandings and egos!

When Kyle and Ophelia are reunited in their childhood town, old sparks are reignited as we follow the re-emergence of their love and follow their story as they try to rebuild their relationship. Yes, a little predictable, but charming none the less and enjoyed thoroughly.

Many thanks to netgalley for an arc of this book in return for an honest review.

This is a really nice second chance romance from Ms Probst. After making it in Hollywood when his girl did not, Kyle comes back home to see if he can heal the hurt he caused. The story is well written and a pretty quick read. I enjoyed it very much.

Such a lovely read! I absolutely loved it!
I must admit it’s taken me entirely too long to discover this author! I have loved both books from this series!!!

A beautiful second chance read. Ophelia and Kyle have a huge secret they have kept for many years from everyone. These childhood sweethearts were a young love that went separate ways. For Ophelia it was coming home to run the families Bed and Breakfast. For Kyle it was to focus on his screen writing career. Ophelia comes off as this easy going nothing bothers me type of person. But once Kyle reenters the picture you see this fire and passion that you can't help but love. Kyle is seeking his second chance to right all past mistakes and find his home again. I love the changes in Kyle and Ophelia throughout this one. The heartstrings are pulled but in a very good way while reading A Brand New Ending. Jennifer Probst is one of my favorite go to reads and she shows me why over and over again with each book she writes. A Brand New Ending is no different and Ophelia and Kyle will show you why you don't give up and fight for that second chance to love again.

"With his tight ass cupped in jeans and a soapy sponge in his hand doing dishes, the scene was total porn."

I was so excited to get my hands on this second story in the Stay series. The author blew my mind with the first book and this one touched me deeply as well. I was thrown into the lives of Kyle and Ophelia as teenagers. First love, pain and heartache, broken promises and broken dreams...sigh. 💔

I love it when a series is about a family and all the characters are present in each book. I adore Ethan and Mia, thrilled that they were there with Ophelia when her past decided to revisit her present. The only problem is that she had never shared the details of her heartbreak when she returned home to run the family's B & B. They all knew that something had happened to change her, but they never learned what.

When her brother begged her to let his best friend, Kyle, stay at the B & B for three months to write his latest screenplay he didn't get a no, he got a Hell No! He didn't understand why there were hard feelings between his friend and sister and neither of them was dishing the dirt.

"—beginnings are necessary and cherished, but it's the endings that will make a person remember you forever."

Are you as intrigued as I was by this mystery? Well, let me tell you, it's even better than your imagination. Prepare to melt into a puddle of goo by the time you get to the end of this treasure. The journey is beautiful, painful, and perfect. The ending is not what they envisioned as teenagers. But who's to say that it's not the right one. Sometimes, a brand new ending can be just what a story needs.

This incredible series features three siblings. So, if you are counting, there is one more that deserves a happily-ever-after. My fingers are crossed that the author decides to share Harper's story. It will take a very special man to deserve her, and I'm so anxious to meet him. The line forms here...

When the second part of the Stay series came through on Netgalley, I knew I had to request it. And yay! After one day I have devoured A Brand New Ending. Again, what a wonderful read! We meet Ethan and Mia again from The Start of Something New. They have found their happy ever after. But what we learn in this part is the history of Ophelia and Kyle. Ten years ago, they eloped and secretly got married in Las Vegas. After two years, however, Ophelia came back home thinking she was divorced. Since she hadn't told Ethan she had been married to his best friend, she never talked about her adventures in Hollywood.
But now Kyle is back, with some disturbing news: they are not divorced after all... But where Ophelia is determined to get divorced as quickly as possible, Kyle is trying for a second chance. He has never gotten over Ophelia. Since he became a succesful screenwriter, he is currently suffering from a writers block. He feels he can overcome this, by writing down their love story.
While writing their story, he discovers the different sides of the story and he learns to understand Ophelia's point of view. A heartbreaking, wonderful story. Can Kyle and Ophelia re-write history? Or will they repeat their old mistakes? Find out for yourself in this epic tale from Jennifer Probst about second chance love, growing up and mutual understanding. Keep your tissues within reach and enjoy the ride! I'm looking forward to Harper's story! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

There's just something irresistible and solid about a well done second chance romance. This one had it all to make it work for me. Such a strong past, a terrible heartbreak, and a real, solid chance at making it work this time. Seeing what's different, what needs to be fixed. If they can overcome the pain and look forward instead of back.

Ophelia and Kyle both made mistakes, and had a different recollection of how things fell apart. Regardless, them being in a small space together for months force them to work it out, good or bad. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that her brother and him are good friends, or that the chemistry between these two can't be denied. The end had a bit of a twist I didn't see coming but should have, and a scene that made me cry. I'm really enjoying this series, but this could have been read as a stand alone and I wouldn't have been lost.

Just wow! So many good parts of this book, I don't know where to start. I had my moments of wanting Kyle eat crow and beat his demons, but he definitely redeemed himself and earned a second chance. Ophelia was an absolute sweetheart, and I'm glad she stood her ground for as long as she did. I love the secondary characters, and the story within the story aspect. Second chances are given all around in this wonderful book. Can't wait to read the next one!

FOUR & A HALF KYLE STARS

If you are in the mood of a light hearted, second-chance romance with a swoon worthy hero & a feisty heroine then this is the book for you. I love the way Jennifer Probst always creates these real -life, really likeable characters which makes you forget you are reading a book & actually one can vividly imagine the characters coming into a life.

The best thing about the book? The way Kyle convinced Ophelia to take him back! And yes, all the other secondary characters including Ethan & Mia ( yay! Again 😍) and a very cute dog make the story a total delight to read! It’s all about the never ending love that lives in the hearts of Ophelia & Kyle and their loving family relationships! A beautiful book - a perfect weekend read!

Probst's second installment in the Stay Series is a true tearjerker and a fabulous read. Fans of the first book will revel in how well she articulates Ophelia and Kyle's past, present and future. This is one of those books that will do more than further along this trilogy, it will make you want to go back and discover and reread all of Probst's books!

A quick feel good read. Ophelia is confronted by her ex, who really is still her current love and spouse since they were never legally divorced. Kyle has returned to dissipate old ghosts and recover from writer's block. Sparks fly as the two meet and Kyle writes their story to turn into a novel but also as therapy. Of course they can't stay away from one another and the ending is predictable, but amends are made by Kyle's father and the reasons for his actions.

Ten years have gone by since Ophelia left her family and the family's Bed and Breakfast to go and make it big in Hollywood with Kyle.

Ophelia and Kyle - and Ophelia's brother Ethan - have always been the best of friends, until Kyle and Ophelia fell in love and left to become famous in Los Angeles.

Kyle did become hugely famous - as a screenwriter.

But Ophelia came back after only two years, and we have no idea what happened back then.

We only know that she's mad at Kyle.

And now he's back too. He needs to be home to find his muse again and to finally write this script!

But he has to work even harder to get that second chance with Ophelia he so badly wants ....

They have a lot of past hurts and disappointments to work out. And it won't be easy to resist him - when HE'S STAYING AT HER INN!!! ☺

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO OPHELIA & KYLE???
WILL THEY USE THEIR SECOND CHANCE FOR THAT HAPPILY EVER AFTER???
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

Awww that was adorable!

I just love those sweet and moving romances.

I'll keep this short ....

A beautiful, homey, family-run B&B with cookies and hot chocolate on the porch for guests and a horse farm and great siblings. And those secrets and misundertandings and not-talkings that still hang above Ophelia and Kyle like a dark cloud. Lots of work still for those two until they'll get to ride off into their happily ever after sunset! But the reader enjoys every single page of that journey.

It was the perfect romance!

Sweet, adorable, funny, moving, sad, sparky, sexy, exciting, wintery. I just adored it all. I even cried a bit here and there!

Also ... Hei Hei is the best book pet ever!!!!! ☺ LOL!

I can't wait to see what Harper will have to tell us in book #3!

A BRAND NEW ENDING was a mega-adorable and moving second-chance romance! I just adored everything about it!
