I was intrigued by the premise of this book, and my curiosity caused me to request it. I didn't finish the book, but read a chunk at the beginning and skimmed to the end. The characters are extremely close to their real life counterparts, so much so that reading some of the scenes made me feel a little sick, particularly the sex scenes with the President and FLOTUS. Yuck, I don't want those mental images. I don't like to think too much about the train wreck in the White House, so I chose to discard this book. That doesn't mean it's a bad story, just not what I want to read, so I'm giving it Three stars.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

This book is a really thinly veiled fictitious story. The similarities to real-life events are a bit too close for me.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, as I'd love to read something that gives us hope as to the fate of our country. Or, at least makes "you know who" look as greedy and ugly as he really is. But, honestly, the first few chapters were so depressing (and a bit more crass than I'd hoped) that I couldn't go on. So, I have to say I didn't read the whole book. I think I would have kept on if a) there was a bit less crudeness, and b) there was a bit more humor. And, I think it would have been more palatable if it were not quite so identical to real life events.

I was excited to read this book because the premise sounded intriguing. However I could only make it so far and ended up having to shelve it. There were too many similar references to our current President and I just can’t read a whole book on that.

I tried to read a novel called “The First Lady Escapes” by Verity Speeks. I didn’t get a fourth of the way through the book when I disgustedly quit reading. This book was quite obviously a satire on the private lives of President Donald Trump and his wife Melania, the First Lady.

I thought I could plow my way through this obvious attempt to vilify our sitting president and make a mockery of his family. I could not continue. Not only was this book suggestively vulgar, almost pornographic in the attempt to denigrate both the First Lady and the President, but I could not stomach the portrayal of the other characters surrounding the First Family, either by the staff, the Secret Service or other family members. I am totally convinced that the author’s name is made up to further insult my intelligence.

I am ashamed that this book was on NetGalley.com, and I didn’t think that this kind of “smut” would be offered on that site. I was permitted to download this Kindle book in order to give my review. I would not even give one star if I had the choice.

I would have posted on Amazon.com, but was unable to because the book has not yet been released.
