A Gift of Bones is the 18th installment in the Sarah Booth Delaney mystery series, and as with the rest of her novels, Carolyn Haines does not disappoint with this one. This novel could be read alone, but is much better if , the previous ones in the series were read first. It is the holiday season in Zinnia, Mississippi, and a white Christmas is forecast for the first time. It looks to be a nice Christmas for the folks of the Delta, until a ransom demand is received by CeCe, Sarah Booth's friend, for an obscure amount for her pregnant, estranged cousin. Sarah Booth, Tinkie and the crew are on the case trying to beat the clock, both to get the ransom to the kidnappers on time and the fact that the baby is due on Christmas eve. Another fun romp with Sarah Booth and her haint Jitty.

Another great read featuring Sarah Booth Delaney! This time the case is personal and just might cause Sarah Booth her happy ever after. Sarah Booth and Tinkie are all in to help CeCe and this one will lead them on a tangled trail to find a missing girl. All your favorite characters fill the pages with mystery, humor, friendship, and love making this a Christmas story to remember. Don't miss out on this one!

With this book the events hit a bit too close to home for Sarah Booth. Cece, one of her best friends, needs Sarah Booth and Tinkie's help. The two women followed the small trail of info Cece had. Each new fact bringing about more info that muddied the waters. Of course it didn't help that Cece didn't want Sarah Booth to get Coleman's help, which tied Sarah Booth's hands at time.

Tinkie was funny in this one, at times particularly viscous when someone tried to cross her.

Things got very crazy at the end, like they usually do. Things weren't what they seemed, part worse, part better. I do like how things ended, liked what Cece found.

Carolyn Haines has created characters that stand the test of time in Zinnia, Mississippi. A Gift of Bones is the nineteenth book featuring Sarah Booth Delaney. This outing has her searching for Eve who is a cousin of her friend Cece Dee Falcon. The case is critical because Eve is fast approaching her due date. Why anyone would abduct a pregnant woman is the key to this case but the clues are almost impossible to find.

The story held my interest as I tried to figure out the mystery along with Sarah Booth. The reason for the kidnapping was a surprise and once again I discovered my detecting skills leave much to be desired. Look for this book on it's scheduled publication date October 16, 2018.

Sarah Booth once again kept me intrigued by her latest mystery, I have yet to read one of her stories that did not take me by surprise. As the mystery unfolded, trying to figure out whom the culprits were was impossible. There were so many twists and turns that by the time the reveal came about, I was completely surprised...it was definitely unexpected.

Since I came into this series late in the game, I was instantly taken by the writing and characters so much so that I was compelled to begin reading the series from the beginning. I’ve enjoyed all this author’s stories, regardless of the genre...she is gifted in crafting stories that keep you on the edge of your seat and off balance, yet with humorous banter and fast paced dialog, paying close attention to the finest of details, weaved throughout, is necessary to recognize the full affect the author intends from her characters and stories.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Christmas is approaching and Sarah Booth and Tinkie are excited for the holidays. preparing for a festive holiday season. Sarah Booth and Sheriff Coleman Peters have finally gotten together, and this is the first holiday they’re celebrating as a couple.

As usual, there is a mystery to solve as Sarah's friend Cece shows up needing her help.

This story is what I have come to expect and love from this series including loveable, well developed characters and a Christmas story that will warm your heart. Lets not forget a twisty mystery that left me guessing until the end. If you haven't read any of the other Sarah Booth Delaney Mysteries, I highly recomend them.

I have been reading this series since it first began (has it been 20 years?!) and I still love reading about Zinnia and Sarah Booth. This mystery is set against the backdrop of Christmas and features all the regulars, Tinkie and Cece and Coleman, along with a kidnapping. And yes, it would appear that Sarah Booth and Coleman may finally be a couple, even though he has been a serious idiot in the past. If you haven’t been reading this series, you really should, it’s Southern mayhem at its best
