Oh how I loved this series! Charlie and Reyes are so stinking cute together and I love their family of misfits. I am so sad to see the story end but can only wonder based on the last sentence whether maybe, hopefully there might be a spinoff series...please! Charlie once again saves the day with a dramatic twist that left me on the edge of my seat. The story wrapped up nicely, since it had to end, and their love story is epic.

WOW..... just Wow! So many shocking revelations, the answers we've been waiting for, all our favorite characters. There is so much happening in the conclusion of this beloved series. It is bittersweet to see the series come to an end. Yet, Darynda Jones does it right and satisfyingly! The set up for Beep's series is perfect. I can't wait to see what this author does next!

What an amazing book!!! Such a roller coaster ride of emotions. So sad to say goodbye to Charlie and Reyes. But every good story must come to an end. Can we look forward to a spin Off??? BTW where's Osh???

What an incredible Finale. This is seriously one of the best series I have read to date. If I had to describe it in a few words... It was Epic!! Brilliant!! Fun and Entertaining!!

It has everything I love from the humor, the fun side characters, the suspense, and most of all, the ultimate love story between Charley and Reyes. The first few books was slow to bring us that love story but once it did, it was truly beautiful. These two are one of my favorite couples.

There were some very, sad moments but I am happy with how this concluded. I do feel there may be more to come. Maybe in a spin-off of the series? I really hope that is what the author has planned. She has a devoted reader in me after this series and that means I will always ask for more.

I can honestly say that I could read about these characters forever. I've enjoyed each and every book and will be re-reading this series again and again.

What. A wild. Ride.

There were moments when story threads were tied that felt pretty abrupt. Bandaid yanked and moving on without much time (or page) to even let it sink in. I spent the majority of the book vacillating between being mildly ticked off and absolutely despairing at what I knew had to be coming. Like the proverbial stages of grief, by the time I reached the final pages I had accepted the inevitable conclusion and found it to be satisfying even if it was a tough pill. I cannot imagine how the author is going to "next generation" this. What, and try to one-up the perfection that is Reyes? I suppose if anyone is capable of taking on that role, Osh is the guy.

“A god, a warrior, a spiritualist, a healer, a scholar, a magician, a caregiver, a ruler, and a handful of guardians. This was my world. These were my people.”

I have pondered and pondered on how to write a review for the end of a series I hold so dear. How do I sum up everything I feel for characters that are as real to me as the air I breathe, the sun on my face, or the book in my hand? So many hours I have spent laughing and crying with Charley and “her people”. And Reyes…sigh…how do I let go of my number one book boyfriend? After careful consideration of all my inner monologues, I’ve come to a conclusion…I can’t. There is no way to write a review for this story without spoiling it for others.

So instead of giving the typical blurb, my thoughts, etc. for a review, I’m going to say two words: “Thank you.” Thank you Darynda Jones for so masterfully weaving a story that has captivated this reader more than words can say. Thank you for ending the series in a way that made me run through the gauntlet of all the feels. Thank you for showing us through your characters that it’s ok to be flawed, to be imperfect, and to be loved just as we are. Thank you.

Now dear reader, if you are new to the Charley Davidson series, you have an opportunity most of us devoted fans did not…you can BINGE read and be ready for the conclusion of one of the best urban fantasy romances you will ever encounter!

Review:
I want to start my review by saying thank you for granting me this arc. It was really unexpected and I know my friend hated me just a little when I told her I got it.
I'm not sure what to say about this book. Overall it fell a bit flat? I expected more, especially when the story was build up to be so epic, don't get me wrong I still liked it, but I don't know, I expected more I guess. I felt like the focus was more on the upcoming battle beep has to fight and her story. This book was really setting up for a possible spin off.
Overall it has a good and an ending that fitted reyes and charley.

What is this book:
This book starts off where the last one ended. Charley was kicked of the face of the earth. Quite literally.
If that wasn't enough, there's still a war coming, a war beep will have to fight with her army. And lets not forget the hell dimension that got out, is raging on the town. People are getting sick, going crazy. Like the apocalypse is near. And there is limited time to stop it.
Will Charley and co pull it off, will they be able to save the world or will all be lost

What is did I like about this book:
I liked Charley and Cookies banter. I really liked seeing Charley and Reyes spend some time together. Charley can be as immature as ever but she has a good heart and tries to do the best she can for the people she loves.

Like i mentioned above there where a few things I didn't like. There was something missing in this book. It felt flat, like it was more a set up for more than an actual conclusion.
I wasn't a big fan of the reveals that kept adding, it got a bit much and hard to keep track off. It might have been different if I did a reread before starting this one, but I just couldn't wait.
Don't get me wrong, I still liked this book, it just wasn't what I personally expected and I felt a bit disconnected to the story I suppose. I don't know how to explain it properly because I feel bad. I really wanted to love this book and I hate that I can't explain properly why I didn't. Especially when Netgally was kind enough to grant me this arc and Darynda is an awesome person.

I don't know how to say goodbye to Charley and Reyes and gang. Knowing this is the last book in the series just breaks my heart. It is so unusual for an author to show such a quirky unique sense of humor, such an unusual group of characters or such a knack for drawing you in until you feel as is you are a part of their group. To say goodbye is like leaving friends never to see them again, knowing you will never have a group of friends like them again.

Charley and Reyes truly have their work cut out for them this time, and well they should if it's the last mess Charley gets them into! The whole world ties together in this final volume. The beginning to the end brings you to a cohesive, conclusive finale, allowing you to say a final goodbye without wondering what the heck happened. For once, we know exactly what happened. We may not like that it ends, but we do at least understand how they got where they ended up.

I'm hoping against hope that Darynda will continue with some peripheral characters, at least, so we don't lose track of everyone in the Charley Davidson universe. There are always people who's lives continue that we would love to follow. Hopefully Darynda won't give up on them all completely. Hopefully I'll be able to reunite with some old friends from this universe and be allowed to follow their lives with the same sense of fun and excitement that was such a part of the lives of Charley and Reyes.

Thank you, Darynda Jones, for bringing me this world, for allowing me to live in it for these many years, and for your absolutely unique sense of humor that has given me more laughs than I can count. I aspire to be as much a smartalec as Charley. She is my hero of the goofy smartmouth!

So so Very Well Done, Darynda, so very very well done. The Charley Davidson series will be sorely missed!

I received this book as an ARC, and I am reviewing this honestly, in my own words and of my own volition.

I didn’t know how Darynda Jones would end the series, especially with the way the last book ended. But she pulled it off and I loved all the unexpected twists and turns.

Charley has been allowed to return to Earth, after only 100 years in exile (she expected it to be permanent). Now she has a host of problems to solve, questions to find answers to, and lots of cups of coffee to make up for those 100 years spent in another plane (one without coffee). Plus all of my favorite characters make an appearance, a wonderful send off.

Over the years I’ve become so fond of Charlie – her snark, the way she names everything in her life (body parts and possessions), and her good heart. She never hesitates to put herself in danger to save others. Reyes is amazing; his love for Charlie, the way he protects her, his surprisingly nice side, plus he is an amazing cook.

So we've come to the final installment of the Charley Davidson series. I fell in love with the whole gang from the very first book. Charley Davidson, private investigator and grim reaper, along with her army of helpers have solved mystery after mystery with some hilarious antics and some hot steamy romance thrown in. There were some jaw dropping moments and some OMG moments that you do not expect sprinkled throughout the entire series.
Summoned to the Thirteenth Grave kept up with the momentum of the series. It is a wonderful end to a fantastic series. I highly recommend it! I tried to slow down and enjoy the book but I had to know what happened next every minute which resulted in a very long day and night of reading. But no regrets! Darynda Jones gave the final book everything her loyal fans needed in the ending.

I received a free copy of SUMMONED TO THE THIRTEENTH GRAVE (Charley Davidson Book 13) by Darynda Jones in exchange for an honest review. At the end of the twelfth book, Charley went away for awhile. I’m not telling you where or how long she was gone. When she gets back, she finds out a hell dimension is taking over her hometown. Well, then, she’s got to do something about that. There’s a mystery to solve, too. Also, Beep’s still in danger. Charley, god and grim reaper, has a plan. After all, her plans usually only go mostly wrong.

This was the series finale; it wrapped up the Charley Davidson/Reyes Alexander Farrow storyline and set up a chance for the Beep/Osh plotline to develop. I love this totally goofy, and sometime poignant, set of stories.

This is the perfect book for the end of the series. Everything flows together perfectly, with maybe a hint that there may be a new series coming with Beep all grown up. Bittersweet. #SummonedToThirteenthGrave #NetGalley

Great read loved how the characters and storyline were well written and kept me reading late into the night. I can’t wait to read more from this author. I felt drawn into the story like I was there I love when an author can do that

So I was expecting the series finale to be epic, to be filled with a crazy battle to save the world... I have to say I was a little underwhelmed - yes there was tension, what with the hell dimension in Albuquerque, but at the same time it was the same tension from the previous books. Maybe I'm just being too picky because I love this series so much but it didn't leave me wow-ed.

Charley has been away for an age or one hundred seven years, two months, fourteen days, twelve hours, and thirty-three minutes (if you want Charley specific) but it was actually 10 days on Earth - and came back with a shed load more questions from coffee-inspired (because what else?) named Wraiths... Cue the chaos that follows Charley and her crew as they try to find out.

I enjoyed the book but as I said, found it a tad disappointing what with not finding out if Beep saved the world from Lucifer. Here's hoping we get a spin-off series (or at least one book) to find out if Beep and her army win!

I devoured this series not unlike Osh with a soul. I grew attached to the characters and fell madly in love with each of them. To see the series end, is a little heartbreaking. Darynda Jones ties it up beautifully. I laughed. I cried. I screamed in frustration then cried some more. But I laughed more than cried because Jones has a way of making her characters feel real. Following Charley and Reyes and their band of misfits to the end was an amazing ride. What a way to end a series!

What a trip the past 7 years has been. I couldn’t wait to start 13 and didn’t want to because I knew the ending was coming. *Cue sobbing*
Charley is back after serving a 100+ year exile sentence and nothing and everything is the same.

13 is full of twists and turns, you can both see and not see coming. All the gang is back in town and they are preparing to take on a battle that could destroy earth as we know it. Charley and Reyes spend a significant amount of time in and out of each other’s pants while attempting to find the solution to fix what was shattered.
You will laugh, your heart will break and fill with joy. There are deaths and crossings you will not be prepared for. There will be surprises that will leave you speechless. There will be a battle of epic proportions. There will me a master stare down where Charley flexes her mad negotiation skills to get what she wants. And there will be an ending that stabs you in the heart and fills you with joy.
This is the bittersweet ending for Charley and Reyes and, one can hope, an incredible transition for Beep.

All thoughts and opinions are my own and no way influenced by receiving this ARC in exchange for review by the publisher through netgalley.

Summoned to Thirteenth Grave by Darynda Jones was an amazing finish to this series. I laughed (as always), I cried and I cheered for Charley, Reyes and the whole gang.

Ms. Jones brought everyone together for this book. So many of the loose ends were tied up as Charley and Reyes faced their toughest challenge yet. Rocket and Blue's history is revealed, Strawberry Shortcake is back for another visit, and then we have the biker gang back for a short visit, too. Charley and Reyes have more than just a Hell dimension taking over the world but it's nothing that they can't handle together. I have loved every one of the books in this series and this one was the best one yet. I can't imagine a life without Charley Davidson in it now. As many have already said, it's a bittersweet experience that encompassed everything I expect from Ms. Jones' writing - engrossing mysteries, love, laughter, demons and coffee addiction. I only have one little question: Where is Osh?

Spoiler Free Review: Well, the end has come. The final book in any series is bittersweet and I’ve definitely got a healthy dose of bitter and an abundance of sweet after finishing Book 13.

I won’t spoil the ending or even tell you how it begins. But I will say that by the end, there are answers.

I loved that Darynda Jones stayed true to form with this book. It didn’t turn into a long epic fantasy novel, trying to shove 101 things into it. We are blessed with the same old loveably quippy Charley Davidson. There’s a mortal mystery to solve as well as mystical doom and gloom to combat. There’s old characters and new ones. There’s a slew of surprises leading up to a sharp and fast ending. And it all comes at you with that lingering uncertainty about Charley and Reyes’s fate.

It’s not all tied up in a nice little bow. There’s also some things being set-up for the spinoff series that’s been bandied about on the Internet and interviews. So don’t cry that it’s over everyone, there’s definitely more coming in what is sure to be a hilarious and magical Beep centered series. But what that series will bring and who will be in it remains to be seen.

Okay, now I’m going to go have a cup of coffee dedicated the wonderful Darynda Jones, and another 3 cups dedicated to Charley, who I’m convinced really exists (ha!).

*I received a free early eGalley of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the series finale. I didn't know what to expect, considering that the description states that she has been gone for 100 years. However, we learned very quickly that she still in the thick of things. And then they discuss how to keep the baby safe, and the solution to that was pretty unique. It was a good plot twist. Also, we get to learn more about Uncle Bob. So that was really interesting, and Gemma apparently has a suppressed memory.
