The second book from the kinky spurs series is best friend sister story and in this Harper and Chase. find their HEA. I was not so impressed with this one, the first was way better. The story did not convince me. All of the sudden after coming from college she has a major crush on Chase it doesn't seem that she had a crush before. For me was also a bit funny that Chase also had a kinky chest box but it would be good that we read a sentence about his intimate life. For me, there was also in the story too much of sex. The story ok, nothing very remarkable like the first one so I have hope expectation on the last brother and his story with Megan.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
Stacey and Chase, hot for each other and hot all around. An obstacle is her brother and his best friend. Overall, I wanted to like this one, and some parts were good, but perhaps I would have enjoyed it more if I was 30 years younger? Not sure why, but started to skim after awhile, just to pick up the main idea of the story. Wanted to see the ending, but didn't want to invest too fully into the story itself. If you are in your twenties, I would recommend this book.
I love Stacey and her words. She never ever disappoints.
This book was everything and more. I love me a Cowboy ♡
Great characters and brill story
The blurb for Sweet Loving Cowboy sounded good, so I was excited to start it. After the first 3 chapters I found myself skimming, a lot. I am not a skimmer while reading, but the story was just boring. I ended up skimming over 3/4 of the book. There was nothing about Harper or Chase that made me care about them apart, let alone together.
another spicy story by Ms. Kennedy - Sweet Loving Cowboy blends a good plot with lots of heat - enjoyed
This is a wonderful story. Again Stacey writes a great book. I can't wait for the next one. You don't want this story to end.
Harper McKinney is working the bar at Kinky Spurs, she thought by now that she would be off somewhere using her culinary degree, not still in Texas. Chase Blackshaw and his brothers are still working at saving their families ranch after their father died. Now starting out on his own with his construction business is looking at helping the ranch. He is also wanting a chance with Harper but knows she wants to leave to Vegas but he still wants to see if she is into him as he is into her. What she does not know is that Chase promised her brother to back off. Still he goes for it and she agrees, but neither expects what happens to both of them to happen. Now will punches be thrown, will she stay or go, will he commit to a women finally? These and many more answers will be given along with a wedding from her brother from the last book, what is going on at their ranch and some hot bedroom and not in the bedroom scenes. A book that has something for everyone. Good characters along with a good story. Can’t wait for the next book.
Two friends looking for more but always assuming that they cannot have it. Harper and Chase give in to their feelings for one last chance and a lot of memories to keep them warm at night. As the two work through their feelings Chase and Harper must decide if they are going to give up on old dreams and make new ones or give up on what they have found together.
Chase and Harper make a great couple and it was nice to see the two find their way. As their time ticks away the two learn alot about each other and themselves as well. Neither one wants to stand in the others way and the two work hard to find a way to help each other. Their story moves along nicely and is a hot and sexy read. It was nice to see that the supporting characters had as much say as the main characters. The author does a nice job of bringing this world and its characters to life and keeping this series fresh.
4 stars.🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sexy, hot and oh so sweet.
Sweet-Loving Cowboy is book two in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy and these Blackshaw cowboy brothers certainly know their way to a woman's heart.
The sexual chemistry between Harper and Chase was sizzling and the storyline was really good as well. Throw in an abandoned special needs puppy that Harper rescues and Chase finds himself taking care of and you literally have me melting (always a sucker for animals in need) ...…..
Actually, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for the first book in this series. I loved it so much and have been over-eagerly awaiting for an opportunity to read this second book. I am glad to announce that it didn't disappoint at all.
ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Harper has big dreams to have a restaurant in Las Vegas and she is close to that dream. As soon as seven days but isn't sure she wants to go right now. Shes always had her eyes on her brothers best friend chance and with the limited time growing nearer they decided to give into that attraction they've had so long before she leaves.
Whew! This book is really steamy and gets down right dirty. If that alone appeals to you then your gonna want to pick up this book. That wasn't something I was interested in the storyline is what really appealed to me. I will say that the storyline was well written and I really loved the characters. I loved getting to know them and see not only that connection but more about their daily lives when they weren't in bed together. I loved seeing that conflict that Harper was dealing with and seeing Chase face problems that kept getting in his way when it came to running his fathers company and trying to figure out if there really was someone messing with the possible success of his company. Overall this was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.
This book was exceptionally romantic, in spite of a dominating alpha hero. Chase puts Harper first in everything so when the time comes for Harper to make her own decisions about the future, he blames himself for taking her off track instead of following the dream that she's had since she was a child. All in all this book was quite enjoyable and the steamy scenes are frequent and plentiful though in all honesty I did skip through some since I was more focused on the story.
I thought this would be a quick read, but the story went on and on. Not necessarily in a bad way, but not necessarily good if I felt it to be long and took over a week to read. It became clear that the author wanted to add more and more layers to what could've been a simple story of "gal and brother's best friend getting together for 8 days before she leaves town with both hearts intact"... and then Stacey Kennedy added more complications.
So why the 2 stars? I'm not sure everything worked for me in the story. Namely, the "kinky" sex scenes did not ring logistically positive. For instance, he handcuffs her and then reaches behind her to unsnap her bra to take it off. Is anyone else thinking a traditional bra is not going to be taken off? I just felt like the author was putting in the "kink" because she felt she had to and not because she either wanted to or that it blended well into the story line. Basically, I felt manipulated and sold false goods. By the way, I would've been perfectly happy without the kink. I'm really looking for a story that moves me emotionally. Sadly, this one didn't.
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
With this return to Kinky Spurs we get Harper and Chase’s story. Harper is off limits to Chase because she is his best friend’s sister. Even though Chase and Brody have been friends since they were kids, Harper is few years younger and never really got close to Chase. That all changes when she returns home from culinary school. As they start spending time together, their relationship grows, as does their attraction to each other. On the verge of Harper leaving town to follow a life long dream in Vegas, they finally give in and throw caution to the wind during her last week in town. In this installment I did feel more of a connection between the characters and loved the fact that while focusing on the development of their relationship, the author also has them struggling with their own separate hurdles. I would have liked a bit more out of the epilogue and hope to get a bit more of them in the next book. I am really looking forward to Megan and Nash’s book. Just from the snippets we’ve gotten I think these two are going to be explosive and I am looking forward to getting inside Nash’s head.
(3.5-3.75 stars)
I liked the chemistry between the leads. I liked how the heroine came to the realization about Vegas. It didnt feel contrived to have her stay just for him. The relationship among the family and friends was adorable too
Really enjoyable read from Stacey Kennedy! The second in her Kinky Spurs series, this story focused less on the bar and more on the characters. Chase may be sweet in heart, but he’s definitely got the dirty talking down. Between that, his connection with Harper and the sweet pup they rescue; Sweet Loving Cowboy was a winner for me! Brother’s best friend with lots of family interaction, both between the Blackshaw brothers and with Harper’s brother Brody. This was a solid story for me and I really loved the happy ending. Eager to see where younger brother Nash and Megan’s story will take the series.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
Hold your horses ya'll!! It was only suppose to last for one week. Nothing in Harper's plans included a hot fling with a drop dead sexy cowboy. Because the heat between Harper and Chase will not be denied.
Harper McKinney left River Rock seeking to achieve her culinary dream. Now, years later she is back in River Rock working at Kinky Spurs until she leaves for Las Vegas for her dream internship with a well know chef. Chase Blackshaw notices Harper is all grown up. As the little sister of his bestfriend, she is off-limits.
If you like cowboy romances, you won't go wrong with a Kinky Spurs book. Sweet Loving Cowboy has it all - friends, family, romance....and an adorable dog. It's spicy with tons of heat yet sweet at the same time. Its a romance about discovering where you truly belong.
I really liked this read. Harper and Chase are great characters with steamy chemistry. The story is fast-paced with plenty of drama and emotion. An entertaining read.
This was a sweet story. It didn't have a major heat that I thought it lacked. I wished that the author had developed a bit more the first few scenes of the book which revealed the kinky side of the hero. But, I do love stories that happen in small towns and with characters that we know from other books, so it was good to see Shep again and I can wait for Nash's story. Chase was a good sweet boy that in the end got the good loving girl. It was just like that, a sweet story with no huge drama.
I can't resist a Blackshaw man
The Kinky Spurs series second book Sweet Talking Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy hit all the right notes. Harper and Chase are both strong likable characters. I enjoyed the plot pace and how the sexual tension built between the main characters. If you like your alpha heroes sexy with a little bit of sweet you're gonna love this read. While part of a series it does read well as a stand alone story.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.
