The romance novellas contained inside of A Season to Celebrate are like a sampler pack for the four authors who are featured. All stories left me in a great mood and full of holiday spirit.
Christmas Homecoming by Fern Michaels is the first of the four novellas and is a cute story of an injured veteran named Kevin who returns home to heal (in a few ways) after his discharge. Kate, an up and coming surgeon and dedicated single mom, is new to town. Of course, their paths cross and the sparks fly. Add in a few minor speedbumps for the couple and Christmas Homecoming is a wrap.
The second novella in the anthology is An Unexpected Gift by Kate Pearce. I’m not familiar with the Morgan Ranch series or any of Ms. Pearce’s other works, so An Unexpected Gift served as my introduction to her work and her characters. The story focuses on a slightly older couple (a nice change of pace) named Billy and Bella, as they find each other. It’s a really sweet story and I plan on giving Ms. Pearce’s other work a try.
The third story, Christmas in Blue Hollow Falls, was from another I’m unfamiliar with, Donna Kauffman, but it was another winner! Blue Hollow Falls stole my heart and I just clicked with the characters. I love a Christmas wedding and while it seems to be a popular theme, I think it’s a great plot point to bring the couple together. In this case, the couple consists of Moira, a lawyer with some very big career plans, who happens to be in town just for the wedding and the local Hunter, who falls hard. Add in a little Christmas magic and you’ve got my favorite story of the four. I can’t wait to return to this charming town and the world Ms. Kauffman’s created.
The final story, Holiday Homerun by Priscilla Oliveras, was a cute story of an event planner who is paired with a relatively famous ex-athlete to throw a charity event. The pairing is unlikely, and I enjoyed their journey. This novella also focuses on a more mature couple and isn’t as predictable as other romance stories. I wouldn’t mind picking up something else by Ms. Oliveras in the near future.
Overall – Four cute stories that will put you in the mood for the holidays, but nothing so groundbreaking that it is a MUST read right this moment. I did get a few new authors I’m excited to check out and I’m incredibly grateful for that.
I received a free copy of this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This was a great book; sort of like a sampling of 4 authors all at once. It's a Christmas book that will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit. It's a light, easy read; no drama, no mystery, very predictable, but that's what makes a good Christmas book! There is no mystery. It's not only about the holiday itself; but the overall winter season. It's was a cute, easy read that leaves you feeling good. I enjoyed all of the authors, I'm a huge fan of Fern Michaels and overall I was not disappointed.
Four great books! I loved every one of them! They are very well written and such great romances. Lots of laughs and really puts you in the Christmas spirit. Loved them.
I was looking for a light holiday read and this book hit the mark. Sometimes it is nice over the holidays to read these shorter stories in case you are too busy to delve into a big book. The stories in this book were exactly what I was looking for. All of them ended happily and they had enough plot to hold my interest. Many times these shorter stories are too small to develop a good plot line, but all of these stories were good.
A Christmas anthology from Fern Michaels and Donna Kauffman. A nice holiday read. ARC from Net Galley.
Wonderful Christmas stories by 4wonderful writes. They all have a gift for storytelling. Thank you for allowing me to read them.
I really enjoyed the two stories by Kate Pierce and Priscilla Olivares. Kate Pierce one goes with the Morgan family and is about the father Billy. That story is really good. Olivares book is about a cousin of the three sister’s and is before her book about Lila. This works out good to go along with the season and the story-line. Donna Kaufman I have never read before but I really enjoyed the story about the brother’s younger sister and attorney Moira and how she comes about finding someone for her, or actually he finds her. You need to read that story and see how he comes to her rescue. This turns out to be a very good story. I liked the chief Hudson his character was very like able and made the story. The only story that left me a little lacking was the one written by Fern Michaels and maybe there is a book with an entire story of the two characters but when the story ended in this book it just felt off compared to the other stories. Overall not bad though.
This book contains four different holiday stories. They are all well written stories with happy endings. I am a fan of all four of the authors in this book and really enjoyed it. It helped to put me in the holiday spirit.
From Party Planners to Military men, this book covers it all with a festive flare from some great authors. Christmas love prevails in these tender stories and I encourage anyone who loves the season to pick this up.
These are four holiday-themed stories that will put any reader in the holiday mood. The stories are all interesting, from the ex-military pararescueman who’s returned home to figure out what to with his life, to the widower who helps the woman who appreciates him plan her son’s wedding, to attorney attending her brother’s wedding who manages to encounter all sorts of unexpected problems/situations with a fast-moving guy and an Aussie chef, to the event planner who really is not so keen on taking over the family catering business. The stories are all short and sweet romances, with solid holiday themes thrown in for good measure. The book was okay, just not great for me. I think the stories do bring out the romance and holiday spirit. They just did not excite me all that much. Still, if you want some good holiday reading, this can be the one for you. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.
I loved this book cover. This is an fun collection of novella-length Christmas stories. These stories are just the right length to read during the holiday season. The characters are interesting and the storylines are entertaining. My favorite was the story by Fern Michaels. I loved all the characters in that story, especially little Emma and the encouragement she gave her mom to go “daddy shopping”. Add in a Texas veteran and a Christmas tree farm, and you have a story that has lots of holiday spirit. A good book for the Christmas season.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and reviewing A Season to Celebrate. As in many anthologies, there are some very strong pieces and weak ones as well. A Christmas Homecoming and An Unexpected gift were very enjoyable and very quick reads. I really didn't want An Unexpected Gift to end. The exact opposite was true for Christmas in Blue Hollow Falls, I thought it would never end it kept droning on and on. Holiday Homecoming I couldn't even finish, I just found it to be excessively boring and it didn't hold my interest.
This review is for Kate Pearce's novella, An Unexpected Gift. While I have read all the other Morgan novels and LOVED them, this novella was not my favorite. Billy Morgan, the patriarch of the Morgan family, has a troubled past. Having been accused in the murder of his wife, disappearance of his daughter, then drowning his sorrows in the bottle, the recovering alcoholic deserves his HEA! I just pictured him as being more "alpha", than wimp. After rescuing Bella from an upset ex-employee, one would think he'd be "tough", but not so much. He and Bella's banter was so cheesy. If my parents spoke like that, I'd die laughing. It just didn't seem to "fit" with the rest of the Morgan series. I did appreciate their work ethic and care they showed to their family's. This just wasn't the novella for me. I do recommend the rest of the novels in the Morgan series! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Christmas Homecoming by Fern Michaels
Kevin Matthews was forced to leave the Air Force because of a service-related injury. He is home in Texas working at his family’s tree farm while trying to decide where he is going next with his life. Kate Stafford is the new doctor in town. This is a delightful “chance meeting” love story.
An Unexpected Gift by Kate Pearce
Billy Morgan is a widower. His children are grown and living their own lives. His life-long friend, Bella, is planning her son’s Christmas wedding. Billy is delighted to help. He loves feeling needed again. Could their friendship become something more?
Christmas in Blue Hollow Falls by Donna Kauffman
Attorney Moira Brogan is in town to attend her brother’s Christmas wedding. She is recovering from a breakup with the man that she thought she would be her partner for the rest of her life. After the wedding she is having a drink in a local bar, hoping to relax, when she is approached by a very obnoxious and forceful “gentleman” who won’t take no for an answer. Good looking Aussie chef, Hudson Walker, comes to her rescue. Moira has no intention of pursuing another relationship. She isn’t over the last one yet. Another sweet romance from Donna Kauffman.
Holiday Homerun by Patricia Oliveras
Julia Louisa Fernandez has plans to become a successful event planner in Chicago. Her close-knit family wants her to come home to Puerto Rico to take over the family catering business. Ben Thomas is a former professional baseball player who was forced out of the game by an injury. He is chosen to be the emcee for a large charity event being planned by Julia. I really enjoyed this story. In addition to the wonderful Christmas storyline, I enjoyed being able to test my memory of Spanish phrases learned many years ago when I studied Spanish for four years in high school. A delightful story!
I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. I definitely recommend this book for some delightful holiday reading.
I always look forward to reading Christmas books this time of year, really helps me get into the season. This was a fun one in the sense that it had 4 novella length stories in it so it's a great way to get a taste of each author's writing style. Of the 4 author's I had only read, Donna Kauffman before. I enjoyed all the stories and just look at that cover, so appealing!

Her mom wants her to come and work in the family business. She wants to stay in the states . Ben is definitely attracted because Julia is not a groupie and not after who he is. After a little time together Julia finally comes around. I enjoyed all the novellas in this book and found them to be very sweet.
A group of well known authors come together to write a funny, uplifting, emotion filled books of 4 novellas for A Season to Celebrate. These stories cover the gambit of 4 couples who unexpectedly find love during the Chritstmas holiday season.
Enjoy Fern Michaels' story of A Christmas Homecoming. A Chritstmas in Blue Hollow brings Donna Kauffman's Mira and Hudson together in an unusal way. He's catered her brothers wedding. She isn't in a celebratory mood. When he's sent to make sure she's alright, she's got a problem she's trying to handle. When all is said and done a trip to post bail is involved. They're attraction is strong and like nothing they've ever felt before. As they spend time together and get to know each other that attraction turns to love. Wirh a unique purchase and a final idea of what will work and a move to Blue Hollow all add up to a holiday wedding again.
Pricilla Oliveras' story with a Latin beat,Holiday Home Run. Is the story of Julia and Ben coming together to work for a charity event that if all works out will keep her in Chicago permanently. As they spend time together getting to know each other their feelings and passion grows. Their growing relationship is in jeopardy when he gives her a surprise of a family member. Will they come together or will his surprise tear them apart.
A Season to Celebrate will have you laughing, crying, and feeling festive this holiday season as four couples unexpectedly find the love of their lives. Only these authors can have you showing such a range of emotion. I'd love to read more holiday stories by these authors and check out the other books in the series of Oliveras, and Kauffman.
This review is for Kate Pearce's story, An Unexpected Gift.
I was so happy to read a story about a mature couple, and for Billy to get his HEA with Bella. I have been following the Morgan Ranch series since the beginning, and hoped that Billy would find his place in the family again.
A quick read, a touching, sweet, and sensual holiday romance. And that while scene with Billy, Bella, BB, and Chase was too funny.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy. I will update this review when I complete the other books in the set.
