I thought this is an enjoyable book. The dogs are so cute, the charity a great cause, and a happyish ending. A great Christmas story. #SantaPuppy #Netgalley

A wonderful Christmas Novella. This short story will get you in the holiday spirit and looking for ways to bring the true meaning of Christmas to others.

When a homeless veteran passes away from natural causes, Jill Gardner finds a key on his dog's collar as she and the gang prepare for a pet adoption event at her store. Being a sleuth, Jill wants to track down the man's family and find his dog a home. As the story unfolds and Jill gets the full picture, the true spirit of the season embraces the town of South Cove and the mystery is solved.

I love the rescue and adoption angle of the story and found myself a little misty eyed at the end. A great quick read. A big fan of Lynn Cahoon's and could just hug her for this Christmas gift.

Jill Gardner, owner of Coffee, Books and More, has volunteered to host a Christmas adopt-a-pet event. One of the dogs that touch her heart is a little terrier named Baby whose owner was homeless and died of a heart attack. As Jill looks into the homeless man’s past, she discovers a sad love story that needs a Christmas miracle.
I loved this little mystery. It had a theme that touched my heart. Pets become a part of the family, and help us make our lives whole. They can help us heal through the tumultuous times in our lives. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is a book written after nine but before ten. First.... awwwwwwwwwwww some mysteries are so sad. This one had me tearing up with Jill. Sad and happy ending. This can be read as a stand alone if you never read any of the Tourist Trap series.

With a slight chill in the air, of course I am ready for holiday books.

Even though this book started a bit uneven with too many short choppy sentences, the novella or was it a short story, eventually slowed to a good pace and got to the point without too much added fluff. Granted, it took me longer than it should to draw the characters together, but once there, the tears flowed.

Jill Gardener has a fondness for both man and beast so when the two come together with the death of a homeless man and the dog he has left behind, Jill and the ghost of Christmas future, go into overdrive to find a new home for an abandoned pup and to find the woman whom dead man, Thomas Raleigh, had been looking for since he returned from the war.

This story will leave a soft spot in your heart and a couple of tears on your cheek. You do not need to know the full background of this series to enjoy the book, so do not worry about jumping in here with your first foray into the Christmas season and South Cove.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review Santa Puppy. A very quick read that is sweet. A very simple mystery that did not keep me at the edge of my seat to solve, but enjoyable nevertheless. I would definitely read anther book by Lynn Calhoun.

A perfect Christmastime novella that is packed with good feeling. Mostly Jill and Greg are trying to find Lizzie and or the family entitled to a homeless vet’s belongings.
It begins with a charity trip to a no-kill shelter to get the animals ready for an adoption party being held at Coffee, Books, and More. Jill stumbles upon a beautiful dog which belonged to the deceased vet. Everyone wants to find a home for the animals and especially this dog.
Read what happens. Happy ending and recipes included.
I enjoyed this tremendously. Puts a bounce in your step and restores your faith in human beings.
This author never disappoints me. I finished it in one sitting.
This is a standalone story.

Cute story with a nice ending. I liked the idea of a book store with coffee and more. What a great way to keep book stores alive. The animal angle was interesting. I liked the story.

Santa Puppy is a short and sweet addition to the Tourist Trap series. It is Christmas in South Cove and to help others, Coffee, Books, and More is hosting a party for the local animal shelter. Senior dogs and cats are going to be at the shop for customers to go and visit with and hopefully, adopt. The Saturday prior to the event, Jill, Greg, Aunt Jackie, Harrold, Amy and Justin go to the shelter and wash thirty dogs to get them prepped for the event. One of the dogs is a terrier whose owner, Thomas, was recently found dead of natural causes. While Jill is bathing Baby, his collar falls apart revealing a small key to a safe deposit box. Greg takes the key and discovers a journal, letter and fifty eight thousand dollars saved to purchase a dream home for him and his high school sweetheart Lizzie. The two went to Bakerstown High but he joined the Army after graduation. While he was away, her parents moved away to Oregon to separate the two. He never found her again but he never forgot her. Jill has Greg's blessings (this time) to find out as much as she can about his story. While Thomas' story was sad, all ends well and in a surprising way. As all books in the series, expect some yummy desserts, this time in the form of a cookie exchange, including a recipe. Jill gets a real tree this year and so does Greg for the station and conference room where the exchange is held. This is a fun Christmas story with the theme of helping others.
I received a complimentary ARC from Lyrical Press and Kensington Books through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions stated are mine only.

Santa Puppy by Lynn Cahoon is a sweet little Christmas time mystery set in Ms. Cahoon's Tourist Trap world.

Jill and her family and friends are putting on an adoption party for a local animal shelter to help place senior dogs and cats. There's one sweet little dog who captures Jill's heart as his master recently passed away from a heart attack and he has no living family. Jill does find a clue and then Greg provides a few more clues which spurs Jill on to find out what she can about the man. This is a novella that kept me turning the pages and I breathed a happy sigh and a few tears at the end.

This is one of my favorite series to read and this novella from the series just confirms that. It is a bit strange that the recent novella's are actually out of order as this story obviously takes place before several major changes in character relationships and events that lead to characters leaving the series in books that I have already read. However, that being said, I absolutely loved this book. The storyline was fun and intriguing. The animals in the story were lovable and a major focus of the story. Add a great Christmas theme (I seriously love a good Christmas story) to the well developed characters and you have a wonderful entertaining read. I can't wait to get back on track with this series as I am anxiously awaiting the next full length book in the series. These novella's are just wetting my appetite!

This is book 9.75 of the Tourist Trap series. This actually falls earlier in the series, after book 3. This is set in December and Jill and friends are getting ready for Christmas. Jill owns Coffee, Books & More and they are hosting a pet adoption event. A cute little dog is found on the beach with his deceased owner. Jill wants to find out about the man and find the dog a new home. It is an intriguing novella and a cute, quick read. Very enjoyable! The Tourist Trap series is one of my favorites!

Santa Puppy is just the right holiday story I like.
When a homeless man is found in the beach, dead of a heart attack, Jill Gardner wonders who he is.
Santa Puppy touches on the kindness of people, heart ache and of course, Christmas.
This is a delightful, fast paced story that is read in under two hours.
I volunteered to read and review an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.
