This was actually a novella. Cute romance but there was no conflict which is what makes a romance with a happy ever after so satisfying.

I really liked this story, especially the forbidden romance angle with Meredith secretly loving her brother's friend. The only problem I had with this book is that I wish the story was a little longer.

I’ve been a lover of Cherrie Lynn’s work for years, so I read Shameless when it was originally published in an anthology but now that it is out in the wild on its own, I felt the need to review it. Here’s the thing, there are incidents in this story that will pi$$ some people off or cause them to make judgments on the hero and heroine, but in reality that’s not anyone’s business but theirs. I liked this story of a woman finally deciding to go after her brother’s best friend after realizing that if she didn’t he might wind up with someone else. Was the timing perhaps a bit off? Sure, but I admired her for not letting that get in her way. There was no doubt these two were hot for one another and they made sure to act on it. I genuinely liked both of these characters, but I wanted more. I wanted to know more about their lives both now and when they were younger, I wanted to see them date, and see past the want and lust the fueled them in this story but even wanting all of that I still very much enjoyed reading this hot and sexy story. So while this might not be what I normally expect from this author, Shameless was still worth the read and highly enjoyable.

Not an overly long story, but still manages to provide plenty of entertainment and enjoyment. I enjoy the sibling's best friend/secret crush stories and we get that with Meredith and Cameron.. Even though it's a short story, it still manages to work because there's a long history of friendship between Cam and Meri. There's also a lot of heat and chemistry between them, and some hot sexy times. The only things I would have preferred with this story is that (1) it was a longer book, and (2) the amount of time between the balcony rendezvous and their first date weren't so close time-wise.

A novella right up my alley! I loved it and I loved the characters. It is my first story by this author and I cannot wait to try a full length book by her!

We have the sister falling for her brother’s best friend. We have the said best friend trying to keep both the brother and the sister close, suppressing his desires. Nothing new, but, if done well, it does not bother me at all. It’s a short and beautiful story that made my evening!

I loved how Meri and Cam tried for so long to keep appearances, but most of all I liked his attitude towards her and her brother. Like they say, bros before… the bros’sisters (or something along the lines). There are moments that would bring a smile to your lips and there are moments that will make you swarm with warmth. Best of all, we have a woman who knows what she wants and decides to act on it. It takes some courage to do it, especially knowing the risks. Having both POVs is really helpful as we are able to understand the struggles each character goes through and the battle that goes deep in their hearts.

Now, there is one reason and one only for which I am not fiving the full 5 stars rating and that is because some scenes felt a little too much and a little out of the character’s personality. For example (sorry for being vague, just trying to avoid spoilers), when Meri and Cam find the time to sit together, she does something that seems too bold, too forward. And there is a scene when Cam is apologizing too much and I will stop here. That’s all. These are things that can be overlooked, I may be too picky because I wanted a full story with these two beautiful people.

All in all, this is a novella that will make your evenings warmer and warmer and will give you sweet and (not so) innocent thoughts. I do hope you’ll give it a try and come back with your impressions.

Meredith never thought the man she was fantasizing about was the very one she heard on his balcony. She had been in love with Cameron since she was a child. Ready to take a leap of faith she lets him know he she feels. Imagine her surprise when he felt the same way. Great short novella.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a very sweet friends to lovers book. Although Meredith and Cameron are friends, Cameron is Meredith's older brothers best friend. But they have been apart of each others lives for many, many years, both fighting attraction to the other until a catalyst brings the pair together whilst on vacation.

Meredith make the first move, however it is Cameron making sure that ta relations hip is what she really wants as he has always struggled to keep his hands to himself.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

I read this when it was first released, and read it again for this blog tour. Shameless is a hot "best friend's little sister" tale. At the beach with her friends, Meri hears someone having sex, only to find out later it's her brother's friend, and Cameron is all too ready to finally let Meri in. There's plenty of heat, if you know what I mean.

This is a quick, sweet, sexy friends-to-lovers story. I was not disappointed!

An ARC was provided for review.

This is a really sweet brother's best friend romance novella.

Meredith is in love with her brother's best friend Cameron, but is afraid to tell him and ruin their friendship. While on a trip with friends, she 'hears' Cameron with another woman. Instead of being embarrassed, she becomes more determined to change their friendship status into something more.

I really liked this story, especially the forbidden romance angle with Meredith secretly loving her brother's friend. The only problem I had with this book is that I wish the story was a little longer.

This is a novella for those of you who want an espresso shot of the brother’s best friend trope. Meredith gets a kick up the backside while on holiday with her brother and friends, including Cam, her brother’s best friend since childhood. After crushing on Cam for a long time, she makes her move, but will Cam be receptive?

Because it was so short, I didn’t get too invested in the story. Novellas can be a struggle because there’s not a lot of time to introduce the reader to new characters and develop their relationship. Luckily, for this one, while it did feel a bit rushed at times, I was glad that there was a long history between the two main characters, and that they’d had romantic feelings for each other for a lot of that time.

I personally had an issue that others might not. First of all, I was a bit icked out about Meredith wanting to get it on with Cam mere hours after she’s heard him with another woman. Especially when he doesn’t remember this woman’s name. To me, that’s pretty disrespectful, and it didn’t endear me to Cam at all. But then, for some context, I am personally someone who wants an emotional connection with someone before I progress to a physical connection; so when I read, while I do read books about reformed players, I prefer everything to happen before the book, and definitely not “on-screen”. I do appreciate that it was needed for this book, but the morning after scene was probably what tipped it over for me, especially with how quickly Meredith rushed into action.

That being said, the sexy scenes themselves were pretty sexy. I mean, hell yes for doing it on a balcony!

So yeah, if you’re looking for a quick win for your Goodreads challenge, here’s one for you.

Quick and fun little read! I don’t read a lot of novellas but this one had me drawn in right away! Meri hears two people going at it while on vacation only to learn it was her brothers best friend.

I liked how the story flowed and got right to the heart of it, great little quick read!

It's a vacation Meredith Taylor will never forget. A sunny beach, good friends and good times. But when she overhears a couple having a passionate interlude on the balcony above her one night, she can't get the man's sultry voice out of her mind. Especially when she figures out exactly who that man is...

Cameron Moore always had an eye on his best friend's little sister but considered her strictly off limits, choosing to satisfy his lust elsewhere. Now Meri seems to want to annihilate every wall Cam's put up against her. The beach is hot, the drinks are cold, Meredith is irresistible, and something has to give. Will it only be the walls between them, or their hearts as well?

This is a really short read and felt more like a snipet out of a longer book. I liked the characters but it just left me wanting more.

This was a good, quick read! The writing flowed well, I thought that Cameron and Meredith had great chemistry. There isn't a whole lot of story, but I liked what there was. Meredith finally decides to pursue Cameron, and it goes quickly from there. I liked them together, but it would have been nice to have an epilogue. This was a first for me from this author, but I would definitely read her again!
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

This was a short and sizzling read of approximately 60'ish pages. The whole little sister/older brother’s best friend theme gets me each time and this one was no exception. Ms. Lynn did a bang up job with Shameless. My only issue was how Cameron and Meredith got together the night after Cameron had a one-night stand with another woman. I was equally grossed out and irritated to high-hell over the fact that Meredith really just let that all slide.

An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

This story originally appeared in the SOME LIKE IT HOT anthology and is a VERY short story. I think it might have been a little over 50 pages. BUT- those 50 pages packs a punch. It was steamy and sexy, just what I would expect from Cherrie Lynn.
I do wish that there was a little more to the characters so that I felt more connected with the characters.

a fast short read that's over too soon. Not too bad writing but would've liked a longer story. Kind of hot but cools off

Shameless was a quick but steamy read with one of my favorite tropes - brother's best friend. Unbeknownst to both of them, Cameron and Meredith have had feelings for the other for a long time, but they let their fears stand in their way of admitting it until at last they have no choice but to give in.

We start off with an intense scene of passion but it doesn't turn out quite how you'd expect and the story only picks up from there. On their vacation - Meredith decides the time is now and she's going to risk everything by opening herself up to Cameron fully. With more than their hearts on the line, can these two make it work?

Shameless will suck you into the story, have you rooting for a win, and leave you lost in the quick romance between these two characters.

Shameless is a fun, steamy novella that will draw you in with its "friends to lovers" trope. Meredith hears a couple having sex on the balcony above her one night while on vacation. Once she realizes the man on the balcony is her hot friend Cameron, she realizes just how strong her feelings for him are. What comes next will keep your eyes glued to the page.

*sigh* I have no idea what I just read and I don't know what to say about it.... no, wait, I do .... What I just read is not the Cherrie Lynn that blew me away with her Ross Siblings series AND her Larson Brothers series. So of course I did a little digging and it didn't help. I was hoping maybe this was a re-issue of a really early in her career publication but from what I can dig, no.

You guys ... what the what?! I know this is a short so I didn't expect a lot of exploration into their relationship etc etc etc BUT if you're going to write JUST a short, you'd better not add scenes in your plot that NEED exploration ....

SO I'm not a fan .........
