An exciting new installment in the Lavender Tides series! This latest book ties up a few loose ends, and fills in the story of Shauna's missing siblings begun in book one. Plenty of action, some suspenseful moments and romance made this a fast paced read for me. It would be best to read the series in order, but I could follow the story with the little bits of recap inserted throughout.
‘For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.’
Bailey has a lot of turmoil in her life, and runs from one dangerous situation into another, but her faith keeps her strong. She cares for the older woman neighbor with a lot of compassion, and uses her nursing skills to help other hurting people. The reminder to "fear not" and trust God, especially in a dark hour, was inspiring. "Whatever happens, God has us.” A heavy topic in this story involves sex trafficking, and the abduction of teens. It is dealt with carefully, but enough detail to be heartbreaking, and a serious warning for parents and young women especially.
An exciting series, sure to satisfy older teens and adult readers who enjoy romantic suspense with inspirational threads. Recommend! 4.5 stars
Colleen Coble is a highly acclaimed romantic suspense author. With Secrets at Cedar Cabin, Coble dives back into the world of the missing siblings. This time, I received the story of Bailey, the baby of the family. I learn just at the same time as Bailey does about what happened to her at the beginning of the story. This story touched and dived into the world of human trafficking. This is a horrible topic, but a harsh, disgusting reality in our world today. The story does move pretty fast. It does have moments of rush and calm to it. In my personal opinion, I believe there is more calm than the rush of a typical suspense novel. The story was well-written and kept my attention because I wanted to see how the story ended, but I wish for more suspense. Overall, Secrets at Cedar Cabin does explain the final clues to the missing siblings, and the human trafficking was interesting, but the story didn't flow like a suspense novel with non-stop action. I believe fans of Coble's previous writings, Lynette Eason, and DiAnn Mills would enjoy this novel.
I received a complimentary copy of Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble from Thomas Nelson Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
SECRETS AT CEDAR CABIN by COLLEEN COBLE is a Christian romantic suspense thriller. It is the third novel in the Lavender Tides series. This book keeps you hanging till the end but does tie up all of the different story line from all 3 books.
This book is a sequel to The View from Rainshadow Bay. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning until you turn the last page. I could not put this book down. I almost said no to going to church yesterday because I wanted to finish the book. But I didn't. I went to church. The first thing I did when I came home was to pick up my e reader and finish it. The story is about Bailey who unfortunately was taken when she was a baby by a paramedic during an earthquake. She delivered Bailey and Bailey's birth mother died from injuries sustained from the earthquake. They moved around a lot when she was growing up, but it finally caught up to her "mother" and she was murdered. She left Bailey a note and some money and told her to get out of town before they could get to her. Bailey's e-husband had given her a cabin in Lavender Tides, Washington, so that is where she went. It just gets worse from here, human trafficking, selling guns, and all sorts of illegal activity. I don't want to give the best parts of the book away, because I know once you get started reading this book you are not going to want to put it down. Colleen went above and beyond on this book. I would give her a 15 if I could, it was that good. Great job Colleen!!!
Another really good book by this author.
It was a fast paced mystery with some romance . Having not read the first two in this series I was a little confused in the very beginning but I quickly got on track. She tied everything up at the end. Enjoyed the story!
SECRETS AT CEDAR CABIN by COLLEEN COBLE is a fast paced Christian romantic suspense thriller which will keep you up all night if you start reading it too late in the day! It is a nail biter and the author keeps us guessing right until the end.
It is the third novel in the Lavender Tides series, and we find Bailey Fleming fleeing for her life to the cabin her ex husband, Kyle, has give her, after her mother, Olivia, was shot, execution style.
Bailey, who has been moved around a lot by Olivia, has felt lonely all her life until she meets the friendly people she is surrounded with in Lavender Tides.
We come across Grayson, Shauna, Mac and Ellie, to name a few of the characters we came to know and love in the first two books in the series.
Bailey soon finds out that things are definitely not as they seem in Lavender Tides. She wonders if she has made a mistake coming back to her mother's home town.
Will the charming F.B.I. agent, Lance Phoenix, be able to keep her safe from the men who want her dead? Will anyone be able to help them uncover her mother's secrets before it is too late - the secrets that seem to be tied to a drug and sex trafficking ring?
I can highly recommend the novel as an exciting and enjoyable read.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
Colleen Coble continues her Lavender Tides series in Secrets at Cedar Cabin. Grayson and Shauna continue to search for their sister, Bailey, who had been kidnapped as a baby. Bailey is living in the Upper peninsula of Michigan when her mother is killed and she is forced to run to Washington state. The story gets quite complex involving a trafficking ring and the FBI.
I loved getting reacquainted with the characters from her previous Lavender Tides books.
Colleen Coble always brings the suspense and secrets and this story is no different. It is filled with secrets, betrayal, greed, murder and romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Loved this newest release from Coble! As always, she merges suspense with romance in a can't put down scenario. Was also happy to tie up loose ends with characters from the first two books in the series.
I received an advanced reader copy of this novel from NetGalley--all opinions are my own.
A spine-tingling romantic suspense from masterful Colleen Coble. Takes the reader through plenty of plot twists and turns.
Colleen Coble continues the story of Lavender Tides in Secrets at Cedar Cabin. The family continues their search for their sister, Bailey who was kidnapped shortly after her birth by the paramedic who helped during the earthquake. Her story begins in Michigan with problems developing after her mother becomes involved with a trafficking ring. It continues with her travels to Cedar Cabin trying to escape the perils of the human traffickers.
It is a good mystery with Ms. Coble's usual tie-ins with family. I enjoy her writing style, yes there is a religious style in all of her books however it does not take over the plot. This series is excellent. The characters become familiar with each book. The cozy mysteries are pleasant reads. I highly recommend Secrets at Cedar Cabin.
Fantastic end to a series. Colleen Coble ties up all the unfinished stories from previous books in the series while keeping you on the edge of your seat every page of this book! Many unexpected twists and turns in this suspense-filled romantic novel. Could be read as a stand-alone book, but MUCH more enjoyable if you have read the previous books in this series. Great book!
