I wasn’t able to finish this book. Because of this, it is my policy not to review the book on my site or on Goodreads/Amazon. I also didn’t mark it DNF.

Come Find Me by Megan Miranda is a great YA mystery! The author's treatment of grief was very sensitive, and done in a way that conveys the message that grief comes in all shapes and sizes and is very personal. I was hoping for more of a sci-fi kind of story, but this ended up being very satisfying and I was intrigued early on.

Kennedy has lost her family in a shooting so she’s currently living with her uncle. Nolan’s brother, Liam, has been missing for two years and there doesn’t seem to be any clues to help find him. Kennedy and Nolan meet unexpectedly because of a weird radio signal that shows up while Kennedy is looking at her brother Elliott’s satellite equipment and while Nolan is reading an EMF monitor. The two of them work to figure out what has happened to their loved ones. Nolan is hoping to find Liam and Kennedy is hoping to find information that will clear Elliott’s supposed guilt of shooting their mother and her boyfriend Will. Nolan and Kennedy figure out connections that no one, not even police or detectives have been able to find. Eerie mystery that I couldn’t put down, 5 stars!

I tried reading this book but sadly I didn't make it very far while reading this book. I think that the different point of views made it a bit difficult to understand . I usually love this author's books and I hoped that this one would work out for me.

Two teenagers whose lives have been shattered meet each other and are willing to believe they are receiving signals that will finally make everything make sense.
I read this back in January and to be completely honest I dont remember much about it. When I finished reading it I had no motivation to write a review because I didnt find it that interesting. Was this a sci-fi novel? A murder mystery? Or a contemporary?
If you want to read a good YA thriller I recommend anything by Kara Thomas.

Grades 9 - 12: Megan Miranda has made a name for herself with her suspenseful, thriller plots. While her first book, "The Safest Lies," was a heart pounding twist and turn, her second book, "Fragments of the Lost" was a more slowly-paced thought-provoking mystery. "Come Find Me" is more similar in pacing to "Fragments of the Lost," but Miranda's use of a paranormal phenomenon adds a twist to this newest book. Kennedy is having a hard time of letting go. Her older brother is in jail based on her testimony relating to the night her mother and her mother's boyfriend were shot to death. She remembers little of the night, but continues to return to the house where the violence occurred, and where her older brother has set up recording devices to pick up messages from space. Nolan has experienced his own tragedy with an older brother who disappeared with the family dog, and with parents who have turned their grief into an all-consuming determination to help other families recover lost children. The night before his brother disappeared, Nolan had a vivid dream that has convinced him that his brother's ghost was trying to contact him. Since then, he has invested time and money into an EMF reader and has prowled the park where his brother disappeared--until he begins to get strange readings close to Kennedy's old house. It is the pair's attempt to unravel the mystery of the readings that brings them together to solve the paranormal and the real mysteries. Miranda manages to weave a suspense-filled drama with clues placed strategically throughout the plot. As with her other mysteries, this one is thoroughly plausible and completely unexpected. Verdict: This is a good first-pick for libraries where suspense thrillers are popular.
Curricular Use: This book fits well with the Washington State Health and PE Standards, specifically the Expressing Emotions strand (H1.So4.HS - Summarize strategies for coping with difficult emotions, including defense mechanisms).

Even as a YA, this novel sucked me in immediately. I don't know exactly what was so intriguing for me right away but I was zoned in right away. Had I had more time the first day I was reading it, I can guaruntee I would have finished it in a sitting but life of course is always an obstacle. This was my second Miranda book and I don't know what took me so long. I really enjoyed All the Missing Girls which I read before blogging and I had no reason not to pick up another one of her titles for so long.

As much as I loved the beginning of the book, it ended up falling so short for me. Everything unique about it that first had me zoned in died out. There was little explanation and a very underwhelming "solution" to what our characters were researching. The buildup came to a halt and the extraterrestrial possibilities that had made this book intriguing and unique didn't pan out. It felt like the ending was rushed and if Miranda had a hard time coming up with a satisfying solution to what was brought on at first. The romance involved felt unnecessary and an afterthought as well.
I still think the book could be enjoyed and is suitable for a young adult audiance. I'm not ready to shrug Miranda's writings off just yet but I desired so much more in what felt like a very promising start to a novel.

Come Find Me gives out a Stranger Things vibe which I am really enjoying the entire reading. The story follows with two teens that connect with each other through a strange signal. Both of them have been suffered from a tragedy in their life.

I love both of the characters and we can see the development of their characters especially right after they found each other and things that happened in their lives makes both them get closer day by day and that strange signal brought them together at the very first place. The story plot makes you curious and together with the characters, we are searching for an answer.

The story starts off really slow and eventually when I start picking up the pace and immersed with the story, my curiosity becomes double. Overall, it is such an amazing mystery, thriller books.

Miranda jumps right in with both feet: sensational murder, a missing teen, and the suggestion of ghosts and/or aliens. She takes us on a long, meandering journey of discovery with very few conclusions. Just a few facts, really. And that's not a censure. For another author this would be, at most, a short story. In Miranda's masterful hands we get a compelling journey of self discovery. The self destruction and invisibility that come along with being the sibling of a missing person or a murder suspect. These are teens looking to fill holes in their personal lives and get answers for their families. One searches in science, the other in the supernatural. And these explorations are not surface. They throw themselves in whole-heartedly and their explorations are given complex explanation. The resolution of the two mysteries is a little thin, more explanation given to the science of the signal than the mysteries, but that results in a denouement that feels real to life.

I've read the adult-targeted books by Megan Miranda, and really enjoyed them, so although this is more of a YA novel, I wanted to give it a try. I'm definitely glad I did. It had supernatural elements, romantic elements, mystery... It had a little bit of everything. I definitely enjoyed reading it l, and feel it will be an easy sale/recommendation. A very strong 4&1/2 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House Children’s for the advance Kindle copy of this 1.29.19 release. All opinions are my own.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 for Megan Miranda’s newest YA release. I have enjoyed some of her adult thrillers and was super psyched to see something that could potentially go in my school library. It is told in the alternating voices of Kennedy and Nolan, two teens who are each looking for something in the universe. Kennedy seeks to make sense out of a satellite her brother set up; Nolan searches for answers regarding his brother, who vanished years ago. It starts with a paranormal feel, but the ending definitely goes in a very different direction than I expected. It’s a bit bloody, and while it isn’t a book I would suggest to my younger readers, I think it’s something that will interest my eighth graders, and it definitely has a place in my collection.

I really enjoyed this one! It was like a mix of "Frequency" and "Stranger Things". I can't say too much, as this is the kind of novel you want to read not knowing much except what they tell you in the back cover, so you can lose yourself in the mystery and wonder, "Is this a supernatural story, or...?" The characters and parallel stories are fun and engaging, and while it ties together a little too neatly, I still suspended the disbelief enough to enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this one!

Posted to Goodreads: Kennedy Jones is the girl who survived the tragedy that struck her family. Nolan Chandler is the boy who's brother went missing almost two years ago. Their two stories are connected but neither Kennedy or Nolan know how. The two team up to find the missing pieces of the mysteries that surround the worst events in both of their lives and possibly find the truth.

I have been a fan of Megan Miranda's since I read "Fracture" way back in 2012. I love how she can build a mystery that feels like it has paranormal elements but is also based in reality. I was excited to read "Come Find Me" and there are parts that I really thought were well done. Kennedy and Nolan and their grief felt very realistic and the evolution their relationship felt organic. However, the ending felt a little convoluted. Miranda makes Kennedy and Nolan's mysteries come together in a way that felt a little too convenient for my taste. This was an enjoyable read and I will keep reading Miranda's books but I was a little disappointed with this one.

Two teens who have suffered a serious loss are brought together by an unexplained phenomena. Maybe if they work together, they can find the answers that will bring their families peace. It is through their shared loss that they find potential friendship and romance in each other.

Kennedy lost everything after her family was involved in a deadly tragedy. She is currently living alone with her uncle and he is preparing to sell her family’s home. Kennedy doesn’t want to lose her home or its connection to her family. Also, she has continued to check her brother’s super computer in the shed for any contact from outer space. After a typical check on the readouts, Kennedy notices something strange. Seeking advice from scientists who might know more, she posts her findings on a discussion board.

Two years ago Nolan’s older brother vanished without a trace. His parents threw themselves into finding their son and helping other families look for their own lost children. Nolan thinks that there is a better way to find his brother, especially because he instinctively knew when his brother disappeared. Nolan uses ghost hunting equipment to search for leads back to his brother. When one of his machines gives off a weird reading, he checks the internet and finds a post on a discussion board that is describing the same thing. Kennedy and Nolan are brought together and it is through their shared connection that they hope to find answers.

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was great pairing alien hunters with ghost hunters. I loved that it was never entirely clear what genre this book fell into. Is it sci-fi, is it a realistic mystery? Are aliens abducting teen guys, or is there a killer on the hunt? The plot moved quickly and I liked the main characters.

Come Find Me is about two teenagers, Kennedy and Nolan, brought together by loss and a signal that connects them,

Two years ago Nolan’s brother went missing without a trace. His parents become consumed by their grief as they drown themselves and their home in the search for not just their son but other families missing kids as well. Nolan seems like a good kid whose really, really lost. His parents are so focused on other people’s problems and 100% completely avoiding all their own with the exception of their missing older son. Since his brother went missing Nolan has become fixated on finding his brother in his own way, paranormal/ghost hunting means.

Kennedy herself has gone through something herself recently, losing her mom and mom’s boyfriend in a tragedy that takes a long time to be addressed and finds herself living with her uncle. At night, when her uncle is asleep she sneaks back to her home to retrieve data from her brother’s machines that he created to seek out answers from the universe. After one such night Kennedy pulls a signal that shouldn’t be possible, a signal that Nolan also has.

These two join together for different reasons, thinking the signal ties into their own personal tragedies and can find the answers they need. Along the way they find an understanding friend in the other that may be just what they need to keep moving forward.

The first half of the book is a little slow and bogged down with a lot of hints at Kennedy’s “that night” story. They dance around it for a bit and give you Nolan’s story straight up. After that though the second half moves fairly quickly and things are figured out and discovered.

I enjoyed both main characters. Nolan is a quiet, contemplative guy that has gotten used to playing second place to other people (his parents barely seem to remember they have a second son, tbh he makes me sad. The kid deserved better.) Kennedy is bossy and assertive, she knows what she wants and she’s not going to let people’s view on her family tragedy hold her back.

As a side character Kennedy’s guardian, the uncle, has his hands full, he wasn’t expecting to ever be guardian to his almost 17 year old niece, he’s pretty young himself and he is definitely trying his best. I really appreciated his character.

This books is a fun, enjoyable read, but it’s also a YA mystery, so teenagers make some pretty dumb decisions... looking at you Kennedy, but if you enjoy YA mystery definitely hit this book up.

A strange and intriguing novel about two missing brothers, but from different families. The novel follows the siblings left behind trying to move forward while looking for answers. I was a little frustrated with the first half of this novel, but stick with it. I promise it is worth it for the last half of the novel.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the E-Arc copy.

I am a huge fan of Megan Miranda books and I have to say Come Find Me was her best one yet. I got sucked into the lives of Kennedy and Nolan and couldn't wait to find out how this one ended. Great Twist I sure didn't see that one coming. GREAT READ FOR ALL!!!

I love Miranda’s writing talent since she fills her novels with suspense and down to earth characters. The idea of this story was a good one. A girl who lives with her uncle after her mother and mother’s boyfriend were murdered. A boy whose brother disappeared two years earlier. A signal that connects the girl and boy together as they start a mission to find answers for the things left unsaid.

I couldn’t get into the story. One of the reasons was because we’re not told any information until 40%+ that was purposely written that way to keep the reader engaged. The opposite happened with me and I was frustrated that both characters were tiptoeing around “that day” and “that night”. I also wasn’t fond of Kennedy. She was impulsive and uncaring when it came towards her uncle. Multiple times she sneaks out of the house to go exploring/finding answers with Nolan and she doesn’t tell her uncle where they are going. Her uncle freaks, lectures and grounds her, and guess what happens the next day? She does it again. The process repeated a few times and added to the frustration factor.

If Kennedy had told the truth to the police from the beginning, then she would’ve been in a different situation regarding her brother. But then we wouldn’t have a plot since the focus would be on Nolan and his missing brother sans Kennedy. Kennedy also lacked awareness which was another reason the obvious answers didn’t connect for her.

I wish this had been written to focus solely on Nolan instead of two mysteries that both teens were trying to solve. Nolan’s brother’s disappearance could have been explored more deeply instead of random memories leading Nolan to the answers and a subplot on Kennedy’s memories.

Still, I was glad I read this and will pick up Miranda’s next novel.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC.

First, I’d like to thank Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book reminded me of a book version of Stanger Things. I was always looking for the connection between Kennedy and Nolan’s stories. Was it paranormal, another dimension, fate? The author kept me guessing until the very end.

At times, the story got really slow and disjointed. The ending did a good job of tying in most of it together, but I still felt like I was wanting a little more from the ending and characters.

Overall, this was good read, and I look forward to its release date.
