I love me a good romcom and this is no exception. This book was literally a treat to read and I will recommend to any and all who will accept it!
This is the first book I've read from this author and it was such an enjoyable read. I devoured this book in one sitting. This high school romance story is filled with sweet moments, friendships, heartbreaks, laughs, tears, drama, mistakes, misunderstandings, apologies and forgiveness. The characters were wonderful and the storyline is one that romance readers will enjoy. Lark ends every relationship before she truly lets herself get in too deep but Ardy changes everything. What starts out as a game turns out to be and mean so much more. Lark and Ardy's chemistry was undeniable and I loved them together, their weirdness and all. Lark finds herself falling deeper and deeper but once her secret is revealed it just might be too late to fix the damage it caused. The ending was sweet but I definitely wished there was an epilogue because the ending felt rushed. However, this is one story that I know I will read again.
Lark has a tendency to date boys and then find excuses to get them to break up with her to avoid confrontation. When Lark's friends notice this pattern in her behavior they challenge her to date a boy then have her be the one to end the relationship. The game soon begins when Lark dates Arden, but as she soon finds out that what starts out as a game soon becomes all too real.
This is being compared to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, that's what drew my interest. The basic concept of the plot does have some similarities. There is some drama and there were times tat the whole game was irritating with all the lies and sneaking around. The relationship between Lark and Arden had some cute moments, but I was never totally invested in the relationship and didn't care overall how it played out. This was a quick read that had some enjoyable moments. The end felt a bit rushed to me, but overall an okay read.

Hearts Made For Breaking is seriously adorable. I'm a big fan of romcoms, so this was a perfect read for me. The characters are likeable and engaging. The story is lively and charming. It's nothing new, yet it's a refreshing read. Light, easy and fun! Everything about this story is perfect for the romcom genre. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars
This is basically a modern day John Hughes movie in book form. Filled with slightly pretentious, inordinately angsty teens, who nevertheless have a je ne sais quoi that makes you want to root for them, and suffer through the embarrassing big gesture at the end to get to the happy ending. (Am I the only one who blushes when characters embarrass themselves?) Slightly racier than I was expecting, but still PG-13.
Lark likes to go to IKEA everything she has a "fake breakup" . Lark wakes up from Ikea bed to Ardy staring at her.Lark gets involved with lots of guys but never taken ones Ardy seems taken.Larks boyfriend Dax wasn't really dating her.Lark was going out with Glenn two years ago when they broke up.I liked Lark and liked the fact she wanted an architecture degree. The goal is to have a caring relationship with a guy not usually her type and her be the one to break it off.I can understand having short relationships I've been there
An ARC was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a cute romance story! But at the same time, it is more than that. Jen Klein truly brings the story to real life on the pages. It's deeply emotional and you can almost feel the aura of the story while reading it.
The characters are also amazingly written. They have flaws but it makes the characters who they are. Jen Klein manages to make the characters very multifaceted and imperfect but still makes you root for them.
The story has so many layers to it. Lark and Ardy each have their own backstories and they're both perfectly characterized as individuals but they also seemed to be made for each other.
This book was refreshingly sweet and a very cute story.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 Stars. This was a really sweet, honest and refreshing YA novel. I really enjoyed the story of Lark and Ardy - there was just enough drama and tension with a die of romance to their relationship. Thank you to Netgalley and Random House for the ARC.

I adored this book. While I think the "dramatic" part of the story wasn't all that dramatic, the lies and the game, the whole story was cute. It was refreshing read, something that I've been wanting to see for a while, I've requested and read a lot of books lately, but this is the first one I've read in a while that I couldn't put down and didn't want to, I really enjoyed reading it.
What can I say another great young adult romance by Jen Klein. Hearts Made for breaking is an great read with adorable characters. I just loved this one!!!
