I wanted to like this book as it sounded good but I couldn't get into it. I would have not reviewed but NetGalley insists on a review to keep your profile rating up even when you say you are declining to read it.

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

My favourite of the Nathan stone books so far. Really hope we get another instalment to complete the story. Enjoyed the way that we got to see his caring side again

Loved this book and the character, Nathan stone. I am totally hooked and cannot wait to read more!

From the first moment they met Beatrice has no clue what is going on and the fact that she looks like Nathan's sister is the only reason why Stone is going with her even though he knows it's got to be a trap.

Follow their adventure in this book, which is amazing.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Nathan Stone is leading a quieter life now. Ex black ops he is trying not to be found. One night he is having a quiet drink in a Miami bar when a very attractive woman tries to pick him up. At first he does not realise that she has been employed by the Commission, a secret group who want Stone dead. He escapes to the Everglades taking the actress with him she is terrified and making running difficult for Stone. He is well trained and has plans laid, but will the killers from the commission get to them and will she make life too difficult for Stone to keep her safe.

Thanks to NetGalley and publishers for an early copy of the next Nathan Stone installment. As always a great read - you will not be disappointed. The characters most recognisable as they travel from book to book. The smouldering yet dependable and honourable lead character - most girls dream-guy. Am eagerly waiting for the next publication.

I've read several books by J.B. Turner and have enjoyed them all. This one was no exception. Fast paced and easy to read. Highly recommend this book.

Fast paced thriller featuring Nathan Stone. Lots of thrills and spills along the way and more to come I'm sure.

Nathan Stone, black ops agent par excellence and a prodigy of the usual clandestine, self serving (but in the name of patriotism) organisation, The Commission. This organisation has more heads than a hydra and leaving no Stone unturned, with seemingly unlimited funding, draw ever closer to “neutralising” the constant thorn in their side (Stone), an agent who has gone rogue and worse, is discovering a conscience. In this, the third book of the series you might think Requiem was a once and for all conclusion….. well perhaps. Their definition of rogue is Nathan Stones definition of revenge and his consistency in doing just that thins down the Commission management at quite a rate along with ridding the world of an untold number of mercenaries. Hard to see anyone involved living happy ever after……… other than perhaps Beatrice!

Wonderful book, it is the first time I read from this author. Well written and can't put it until the end. I definitely will recommend to others. Thank you for the free sample.

I'd read two of the authors books previously and enjoyed them thoroughly so was eager to get stuck into this one and it doesn't take long to grab you in at all. A great cat and mouse chase type thriller with good character development and a simple yet intriguing storyline and premise. I would recommend this book to types who like CIA/FBI type thrillers and the chase through the everglades is easy for your mind to imagine and picture. This was a great read!!

Since I enjoyed J.B. Turner's Jon Reznick series, I jumped at the chance to get an Advance Reader's Copy of Requiem. It didn't measure up to my expectations. The pace was frenetic, the plot twisty, but the characters were quite flat.

Nathan Stone and an actress flee across the Everglades and the Florida Keys from the nefarious secret group known as the Commission. The actress, Beatrice, has been unwittingly drawn into a Commission plot against Stone, which has marked her for death alongside him. I might have been interested in their fate if Beatrice had been believable, but none of her actions rang true.

Nor did the dialogue. First, it was repetitive; and second, there was so much of it! The two characters Nathan and Beatrice carried most of the action in the story, and most of their interaction was conversational. I lost count of the umber of times they repeated the Very. Same. Argument. Island after Island.

I'm a conspiracy-fiction junkie, but this one left me cold.

Fabulous, everything J.B. Turner writes I devour, I cannot wait for more stories in all of his series. Never disappointing!!

Book Review: Requiem (American Ghost #3) by J.B. Turner

Nathan Stone - ex-CIA covert operative, KIA; secretly revived, a ghost, No. 1 one stone-cold assassin of a deep-state U.S. organization to kill enemies of the establishment; turned rogue, turned against his masters, did major damage and now is being hunted.

Smartly takes a quiet spell, low-keyed, low profile, somewhere in Miami.

Finds an opportunity for human interaction with a beautiful woman though normally a man with few words. Like a human being for once, instead of a stone-cold killer.

Serene, almost romantic!

Except - they're in the Everglades, the marshes, the gators, the snakes, the isolation, the darkness, fighting for survival. In the River of Grass. In the Florida Keys. Because somehow, he's been found, chased and hunted!

He fights back!

Non-stop action, fast-paced, unputdownable, entertaining quick read. The author is earning top-ratings in this genre!

Review based on an advance reading copy provided by NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer and Amazon Publishing U.K.

A great read that I got through in two days. I just couldn't put it down. In the third book in the series, Nathan Stone is being pursued after dismantling the Commission. It has been rebuilt and is now out for his death. An attempted honey pot puts him in danger only for him to be forced to take the woman with him as he avoid death by a hit squad. He works to stay safe and keeps his hostage safe as well. The action moves and although implausible to some extent, one can see how he is able to elude death over and over. I can't wait for the next book in this series. Thank you JB Turner, Netgalley, Amazon Publishing UK, and Thomas and Mercer for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Excellent story. Third in the Nathan Stone series and all three books so far have been thoroughly enjoyable. There was a softening almost human side to Nathan in this book. I'd still want him on my side though...
Thanks to Netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK for the copy.

3.The Requiem. J. B Turner
The Comission had hired her, she looked like his sister, a down and out actress. And now four men in SUV was following them. He turned the tables, and had the cops after them. Now they were on the run,she doesn’t get it, if they get her, she’s dead, she keeps asking questions. Finally tells her, he kills people, that was not what she wanted to hear. Can she trusts him, he gave his word, they are running, where, The Everglades. Raw untamed, were all the fancy devices might not work. He thought he took them all out, now who is calling the shots. A plot that flows, easy to read, and one feel the tension, the fear. Having read the first two, this was just as great a plot. A great series, and
having time with Stone. Given ARC by Net Galley and Amazon Publisher UK for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Thankyou to NetGalley, Amazon Publishing UK and the author, J B Turner, for the opportunity to read an advanced readers copy of Requiem in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
This is the third offering in the American Ghost series. I enjoyed reading this book as it was fast paced and kept me up until I finished it. And, I liked the unpredictability of the storyline to be well thought out and written.
Definitely a must read for fans of the genre.
