Because this is book five in a series and I had not read the previous four, I felt a little lost at the beginning as I didn't know the history between Detective Lottie and her colleagues, but I quickly caught on and realized one doesn't have to have read the others to appreciate this one. Young boys are disappearing and found murdered so Lottie must work fast to find the killer before more go missing. Lots of suspects; the coach, the bus driver, the dysfunctional families, the rich bachelor in town. Many twists and turns also; I could barely keep up with all of it. Overall, a very satisfying story!

Finished this book in a day - what a fantastic read. A young girl turns up at the police station covered in blood and says she thinks she’s killed someone. At the hospital it’s discovered that she’d recently given birth but there’s no sign of the baby = has she killed it? Before Di Lottie Parker can question her she’s left the hospital. Then a young boy’s body is found near the football club. - he’s been strangled. Another young boy goes missing - he knew the first victim as they played football together. - then his body is also discovered. A great story with lots of twists and turns this book kept me gripped right from the start.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and Patricia Gibney for the ARC in return for an honest review.

It’s not often I give a book five stars but this one is so deserving in my opinion of them.

Book 5 in the DI Lottie Parker series and in this book Lottie and her team are dealing with the murders of two teenage boys. They are in a race against time to find the killer before they strike again.

This is an absolutely fantastic read. I just love when a book sucks me right in from the first page and this one certainly did that. Superb.

Lottie Parker has become one of my favourite detectives. She is far from perfect, lurching from one domestic crisis after another whilst attempting to keep the citizens of Ragmullen safe. I think the thing I like most about her is she never stops trying to do the right thing - even when you can see that she's probably not!

A young woman comes into the Garda stations, covered in blood muttering, "I think I've killed him".When a baby's body is found in the river (by Lottie's son & his friend) that seems to solve the mystery until more bodies of young boys turn up.

What is going on at the local football club? Why are some people so reluctant to talk and where has the young woman disappeared to? Where does she fit in?

This was a good fast paced story that I read very quickly, wanting to know the answers. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher- can't wait for the next one!

One hot summer evening, eleven-year-old Mikey Driscoll is on the way home from playing with friends. Two days later, his broken body is discovered on a bed of wild flowers by some local teenagers.

The case is assigned to Detective Lottie Parker and this time it’s personal. A close friend of her son Sean, Mikey was from the run-down Munbally estate on the other side of town. Sean tells his mother that Mikey was behaving normally before he died but Lottie can’t help but feel that her son is keeping something from her …

Then days later, another boy is found dead, surrounded by wild flowers next to a beautiful lake.

My Thoughts:
I will put the warning out there that there is abuse and children are murdered. So for those that can't read something like that then this book is not for you.
So many families are affected by this and sports coaches. On top of that there is a man from NYPD looking for Lottie. She wants nothing to do with him. This is book #5 of this series and I did not read the other 4. I did not feel that had to either. I really liked Lottie and her family. I was scared for her son Sean who was trying to figure out what was going on.

This book is everything a psychological thriller/mystery should be! The author created characters that are well developed and a plot that moves along quickly! I found myself completely immersed in this one! Highly recommend!

Hi, guys.

Yesterday was my stop for Patricia Gibney’s latest gripping thriller, Tell Nobody. I had some issues with the logging into my blog after some repairs of my laptop, so I couldn’t post it yesterday. I apologize, and I am posting my review today. I hope my five stars will be enough for an apology.

So, let me tell you something about the book. This is the fifth one in the series, but it can perfectly stand alone. I’ve read the second one and absolutely loved it. The main character is Detective Inspector Lottie Parker, a character that I loved from the very first page. She has a lot of weight on her shoulders to carry, both in professional and personal life. Personally, she is a grandmother now and a mysterious half-brother appears out of the blue. Professionally, she faces the hardest case ever. Her son, a teenager, goes fishing with a friend and they find a dead body of a newborn baby. At the front door of the police station, a young woman who has just given birth, collapses, and her last words are: “I killed him”! Then, a body of a dead boy has been found. A boy who was sexually abused.

Are all those cases connected? Who did the young woman kill? The baby or the boy? Is the baby hers? Who molested the boy? Why would someone kill him? The boy is same age as her son, they knew each other. Is her son in danger?

Gripping, addictive, this book made the hair on my neck stand! That is the closest description I can give. A story full of many turn-overs and many false leads until the last page. A very unpredictable plot. I loved it! D.I. Lottie Parker is one of my favorites, and Patricia Gibney’s writing style I absolutely love! I totally recommend this terrific read! Full five stars from me!

Lottie Parker can’t wait to move out from her mother’s where hon lives with her three children and her grandson. When a boy goes missing and later is found dead she has to put thoughts about her living situation to side. Then another child goes missing and Lottie finds out that her son Sean knew both of them. More and more details about the home life of the boys comes out and the police soon understands that they have to find not only a murderer but also a child molester.
Like all Lottie Parker book, this one makes me want to read more about her and her team. I highly recommend the whole series.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture!

I am not a person who gives five star reviews unless a book makes a big emotional impact on me, and this one certainly did that!

Lottie Parker is living with her mother, along with her teenagers and her grandbaby. It is tight quarters and she can't wait until she gets her own space again. In the meantime, she has a troubling case to contend with, the disappearance and murder of young Mikey. And then another boy goes missing, and he moves in the same circles as Mikey. What is going on with these boys and who is the person who links them, in a deadly way?

How this story unfolds is incredible. The novel is tightly written and there are many tense and gripping moments when I thought my heart would stop. I had to keep reading though to find out what was going to happen.

I love every single book in the Lottie Parker series, including this one, and I can't wait to read the next one.

With thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture.

I have been closely following detective Lottie Parker and her team ever since the first book came out, and each new book that comes out gives me that feeling of Christmas having come early. The series has been constantly excellent so far, delivering another complex, shocking and well developed story to feed our hungry detective thriller minds. This is why it comes as a total surprise to me I wasn’t able to enjoy Tell Nobody as much as the previous four books. Don’t get me wrong, book number five is still a solid detective thriller, with the same complexity and well crafted plot I have become used to, but for me some of the spark was missing this time. I can’t put my finger exactly on the why, but I think part of it has to do with the fact that the behavior of the main characters really annoyed me this time with the constant negative attitudes, swearing and other unpleasant traits. This made me feel not as connected to the story, as I was distracted by my feelings of frustrations towards them. As for the investigations in Tell Nobody: trigger warnings are in place for abuse and child abuse, violence and possible graphic scenes. As always, there are a lot of different characters in play and a lot of twists and turns to distract you from the truth. I guessed part of the final reveals, but there were also a few things I definitely didn’t see coming. Disturbing, twisted and unsettling… Make sure you brace yourself before you start this one. The ending will be a shocker!

While Tell Nobody without doubt still is a solid detective thriller, I don’t think it hit the mark completely for me this time. A lot had to do with the fact that somehow the main characters and their negative attitude started to frustrate me, and maybe also with the fact that I saw part of the final reveal coming quite early on. That said, the writing was as solid as always as well as the construction of the plot and plot twists. There are some difficult themes involved including child abuse and this story definitely isn’t for the weak hearted.

Today I am over the moon to be celebrating publication day with my review for the blog tour of Tell Nobody. My review is written with thanks to Kim at Bookouture for inviting me on the tour and for my copy of the book via Netgalley.
When a young boy disappears on his way home from a football match and his body is found the following day, Detective Inspector (DI) Lottie Parker and her team are called into investigate. For Lottie, it's personal, as the boy is a friend of her son, Sean. She is desperate to find leads, but is reaching dead ends as the killer sets their sights on other boys. Can she find the perpetrator before the next victim is found?
Lottie Parker was nominated in the Dead Good Reader Awards for the "Award For The Character Most Put Through The Ringer" and reading Tell Nobody, it's easy to see why. Living with her mother after the events of the previous book, No Safe Place, Lottie continues to struggle to tame her own demons and balance her personal and professional commitments. However, without these flaws, there would be no book, and despite them, she is feisty and passionate and stops at nothing to find the killer. Her will they - won't they relationship with Detective Sergeant (DS) Boyd also keeps me hooked with each new novel. I am a big fan of Lottie Parker and each instalment in the series makes me love her more and more.
Tell Nobody is set in the Irish town of Ragmullin. Although Ragmullin is fictional, I found it easy to picture it as a real life town with Gibney's descriptions of the layout and local facilities. Being a close knit village, many of the residents have connections to each other, and this means that there is potential for disagreements, relationships and secrets. There is lots about the village for Gibney to explore, and she does this really well, creating leads for Lottie (and the reader) to follow to keep them on their toes and engaged in the novel.
I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Patricia Gibney and she is so lovely that you wonder how such horrific things as killing babies and sexually abusing children can cross her mind, but the cases that Lottie investigate are so awful that as readers we take them to our hearts and pray that the killer is brought to justice. Tell Nobody is brilliantly plotted and full of twists and tension and I enjoyed every breathtaking second. Now, when is the next one released?
Tell Nobody is available from Amazon.

Tell Nobody by Patricia Gibney
DI Lottie Parker #5

A preteen boy goes missing and is found dead
A newborn is found by youth fishing
More death to follow
DI Lottie Parker is lead investigator

Lottie is still a bit of a mess when we meet up with her in book five. She is faced with a complex case that has many potential murderers but what is the reason behind the murder of so many young people? As she searches she finds threads to pull and to follow with some very disturbing findings before the end of the book. Along with the murder mystery Lottie is still sorting out grief over the loss of her husband, living with her mother after the loss of her home to fire, considering adding a man into her life and contending with the boss from someplace that he should definitely return to…no bad language allowed in reviews ;)

I am eager to find out what will happen next in Dottie’s life and thoroughly enjoyed this story although it took a bit of time to get into it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC - This is my honest review.

4 Stars

This is the fifth book in the series featuring DI Lottie Parker and her team. It can be read as a standalone but so much has happened to the characters in the first four books that you really do not want to miss out. Lottie is back continuig on with her disorganised life. She, her three children and grandson are living with her mother after being left homeless when their house was burned down in the last book. They are all finding it difficult living under one roof so Lottie throws herself into her work once again. A young girl turns up at the police station stating she killed someone. They subsequently discover that she has recently give birth, but where is the baby? Lottie’s son and his friend are fishing and discover a baby’s body, are these two connected? In the meantime the murdered bodies of two boys are discovered and they are both friends of Lottie’s son. The boys all played for the same football team so there are lots of suspects who could be the potential killer and who are keeping secrets. Lottie and her team race against time to find the killer as they are struggling to keep their new boss happy. This is a fast paced, complex thriller, with so many twists, turns and surprises and a final twist at the end, what more could you want. A very addictive read. I can’t wait for book number six in this series.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I have loved this series so far and didn’t think the author could continue bringing out stories quite so good, but she has done it again.

This one could be a hard read for some due to the fact it involves children, but it is brilliantly written, well executed, and had me constantly trying to figure everything out.

Not only do we have the murder side of this book, we also have an added extra of Leo Belfield. He starts to make a bit of a nuisance of himself as he attempts to quiz people about Lottie. What his precise agenda is, though, is anyone’s guess. Lottie’s son finds himself drawn into the thick of things. Could he be in danger and, if so, can Lottie get things worked out in time to help him?

A brilliant read. Huge thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for providing a copy.

Even though this was the 5th in the Detective Lottie Parker series, it was the first one I have read. Aside from a few references to previous events, it did not matter much that I was new to the series. This was a well-crafted crime thriller, with many threads weaving into one narrative. I loved the setting, and thought the author did a great job with detail. Told from different perspectives depending on the action, the narrative never got lost or jumbled. In fact, the differing voices gave credibility to the story, making it well-rounded. I found the law enforcement perspective especially interesting, because it was so similar to an American point of view; LE is universal! The author did a great job of dropping hints and revealing clues in a timely manner, so that there was always something driving the plot forward. I did feel like the first half was a little slower, as everything was being set up; but once I got halfway through, the pace really took off as more pieces started falling into place. I will definitely be going back for the first four books in the series, and will be looking for the next one! A solid 4.5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and the author for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Lottie and now that I read and fell in love with her in this book I have to start from the beginning and hear her story. I am so excited and ready to find out what other mysteries, tragedies, and suspenseful times will follow her. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to write about this series.

Patricia Gibney’s Detective Lottie Parker series is one of my favourites, so I was so excited to read the latest book in this series which is going from strength to strength. This book is also perhaps the most gripping, and perhaps the darkest, of all her novels.

In Tell Nobody the town of Ragmullin is gripped by fear once again, as a killer is loose on the streets, leaving very few clues for the police to follow, and the police know that they are running out of time before the killer will strike again. The cases are very harrowing in this book. And once more the case that Lottie is investigating drifts a little too close to home for her liking, as her son Sean is involved and becomes a key witness to the crimes that have taken place.

There are several intriguing strands to this novel. At the start, a young woman presents herself at the police station and makes a startling declaration that she killed someone, before collapsing. But who did she kill? A short while later a baby’s body, the baby just a few hours old, is discovered in a pond a short distance away.
The opening chapter immediately got me thinking as I wanted to know who it was the young woman had killed and if her statement has anything to do with the discovery that is later made. But events soon take an even more disturbing turn when the body of a young boy, left in plain sight for someone to easily discover, is found, and Lottie and her team soon fear that they are looking at the work of a potential serial killer. Lottie is under a lot of pressure from her boss in this book to get answers quickly.

There is certainly an edgier feel to the plot of this book, and there is a more ominous tone. Even Lottie and her team don’t appear to be getting on as well as they have in previous books. Boyd is very sharp and to the point, and Lynch begins to accuse Lottie of having an affair with her husband. This creates a very frosty atmosphere at the station, it did leave me wondering if they were going to solve the murders as they weren’t working as well as they previously have together.

Even though this is the fifth book in this series, Lottie is still a fascinating character who continues to intrigue me. We’re always learning more about her troubled past which we have only recently begun to see the full picture of. Patricia is always throwing obstacles in her path which threaten to unbalance her life even further. She is still under a lot of stress in her home life as well as at work; Patricia really doesn’t make things easy for her.

Tell Nobody is another fantastic addition to this series. It is in my opinion, Patricia Gibney’s best book to date. The final chapters of this book really do ratchet up the tension making for a brilliant and captivating finale. You will not be able to put this book down! If you’re not yet following this series, you really need to be.
