OMG.

Why. WHY. WHY do you use so many words to say one thing? Why? This is like that episode of Friends where Joey uses a thesaurus to write a letter to the adoption agency.

This is the story of a girl whose best friend goes missing when they are 17. 10 years later, 10 memorial services later, her friend's little sister, who is now 17, is found dead in the same spot where her sister went missing.

Said girl investigates. Danger happens. The secret of what happened to Nora comes out, and we find out who dunnit.

Riveting stuff, right?

This book is actually incredibly long for its genre, and I guarantee you I could easily remove minimally 100 pages without losing any of the plot. Because OH MY GOD.

"Casual cruelty had never been a part of my relationship with Nate, had never formed an integral part of our language. If our silences had no give to them anymore, then neither did our words. They were brittle, ready to break at the slightest of touches."

"When he rang Elle's phone it went straight to voicemail and a bubble of panic began to build somewhere near his duodenum, and Noah looked on, his wide brown eyes taking everything in."

I need a quiet corner after this book.

Thank you to Killer Reads & Netgalley for this ARC. Wow do I have thriller fatigue. This got such raving reviews I thought this would be another one I couldn't put down, but I was just bored and confused. Too many characters, too cheesy of a plot line, it just didn't seem plausible, and was a stale story line that I've read all too often. If I am picking up a book, I want to get lost. I want to travel somewhere else (not the state I reside in - Hello, Wisconsin!), live someone else's life, even if it is turbulent and stressful. I couldn't even get excited about picking this one up, so I am sorry, but this was just not for me.

FORGET ME NOT by AM Taylor is a gripping suspense story. Well worth the read. It will grab you from the first chapter and keep you guessing until the end.

I really am undecided about this book. Found it a bit slow & repetitive & took me a while to get through it. Also found it a bit hard to follow at the start with so many characters & then calling character different things like Noelle/Elle & skipping back between past & present.

Forget Me Not is difficult to follow as the author goes into the past and present. She does make sure readers know when the past is happening but it happens into between chapters instead of making the past an entire chapters.
Forget Me Not has way to many characters to keep track of and the author could us a cast of Characters list at the beginning of the book so readers could keep everyone straight.
The story moves along at a snails pace. Just when action happens it seems to slow down soon after leaving readers to skip pages to find the true story. The ending was very predicable and felt rush as if the author has to keep the story to a certain word count. Which makes this story in need of either better pacing or editing that can remove areas of the story that are less important to keep the ending important instead of rushed.

I started this book a couple of times but I just couldn't get into it I'm afraid. I really wanted to as I hate giving up on a book but it just wasn't for me.

4-5 stars. A taunt, chilling, twisty, thrill ride, that grabs you from page one and doesn't let go until you finish. This is one of those books that I love getting to read, because it's so intense from the beginning and you know there's more to come. The author is great about getting the characters to convey a thrilling chill. Will be highly recommending.

Just finished this read! Overall I think it was good - a little slow to build but I was engaged in the mystery and link between the sister's murders. I find myself frustrated with the narrator and her inability to leave the situation to professionals, but if it were my best friend I would probably do the same :) Mads is tougher than she gives herself credit for.

The only thing I wish is that we got to know Nora and Noelle a little better. While I was invested, I wanted to know more about the characters to help me care as much as Mads does.

Would recommend to a friend!

Forget Me Not by AM Taylor was a great story but not a great as I was hoping. The story dragged in parts and there were so many characters. At times it got confusing but all in all I enjoyed it.

Nora disappeared 10 years ago. She has never been found. On the anniversary of her disappearance her little sister Elle is murdered and her body found in the same place Nora's abandoned car was 10 years earlier. Nora's best friend Maddie has never really recovered from losing her friend and is determined to find out what happened. The ending was a bit predictable and rushed but still it was a good read.

I’m on the fence about this one. It had twists and a very good conclusion but I didn’t love the narrator. She said early on that maybe if the disappearance of Nora occurred when she had been older or younger she may have coped with it much better. She was 17 and those sensitive teen years left her stranded in an emotional limbo. Unfortunately for me, I can grasp her inability to move on but it was hard to read about.

The writing is fine. It’s descriptive, maybe too much so. It took a while for the action to kick in instead stressing just how damaged a state Maddie, our narrator, is in. Once things started to move along she becomes a stronger, more enjoyable character. The conclusion is appropriate but I would have enjoyed an epilogue to see how the characters were dealing at the next anniversary of the disappearance, closure. The story is a good one once it gets moving.

Unfortunately, I figured out who the killer was rather quickly and because of that I didn't really find the book to be one that I couldn't put down. It was more like, well I will finish this because I have already invested time in reading it. I can say that I did enjoy the going back and forth between the past and present. Overall, the book did not hold my interest until the end and I found myself starting another book while only having read half of Forget Me Not. I was expecting more of a climatic ending than what I got. The ending ties in the two murders and then just ends. It is what it is and not all books will be five star reads.

Can lighting strike twice? On the eve of Nora Altman’s 10th anniversary of her disappearance, family and friends gather in a vigil as has become customary. However, on the day of her anniversary, her younger sister Noelle (Elle for short) is found murdered in the same spot where Nora disappeared from 10 years previous. Maddie, Nora’s best friend has never gotten over her friend disappearing and has had a major impact on her life being the root cause of depression etc. Maddie is reeling, can this be happening again, are the two related, surely they have to be? Maddie seeks the truth now more than ever, what happened to Nora and what happened to Elle?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book having read it in the day, I was totally gripped, I felt like Maddie, I had to know, the more she dug the more she found out and some things she didn’t know about which gave her some peace in a way as she felt Nora was still around in presence as she was finding out new things about her. To be honest, I hadn‘t worked out who it was or why as there were plenty of red herrings with motives to boot.

If you love a good mystery psychological thriller, then I would highly recommend this.

Well, I don’t know quite where to start on my review of Forget Me Not. I started reading with high expectations but I could not get into the story being told. There were too many characters and they were not identified clearly. I could not determine who was speaking which made it hard. I had to spend too much time trying to determine which character was. which. The storyline was okay, two murders of two sisters had taken place and the best friend could not quit trying to figure out who was responsible. She does a lot of sleuthing on her own and all her friends tell her to to move on with her life. She just cannot do that. As the reader, I had a hard time with the style of writing and honestly skipped over some of the narrative. It wasn’t until about 70% into the book, that I became involved in finishing the book. I had guessed the killer before the end of the book, but it did not detract from the ending. It was an okay book for me, but I had wished for more. I was given an advance copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest review. The views are all mine.

A quick mystery, but not as engaging as I would have wished. It was interesting enough - it tied together the murder of Nora, Maddie's best friend, ten years ago -- and Elle, Nora's sister in 2018. A nice easy psychological thriller that didn't make me anxious, or worried about staying up too late, but was easily and quickly resolved at the end of the book. Nicely written, nothing too out of the ordinary, but also not bad. I would recommend it if you want something mildly formulaic but still a bit of a mystery about it. I enjoyed it, but the characters were somewhat 2 dimensional and predictable.
A nice easy fall/Halloween read.
Not a bad lot all in all. Would read again.

A story that kept me guessing until the end. I'm usually a person who can figure it out, at some point but this had me changing my mind a few times. There were a lot of twists and turns.

I did, at times, want to shake one of the main characters, Madeline "Mads" Fielder but it makes you understand that not everyone can deal with grief in the same way. However, with her determination, Mads is able to figure out everything. She does have several set-backs while trying to figure it all out.

I will definitely be looking for this title to add to my bookshelf, when it officially comes out. and definitely a book I will be recommending to my "thriller" friends! A solid 5 star read, for me.

Seventeen-year-old Nora vanished, only leaving behind an abandoned car. In the small town, rumors ran wild, reporters tore apart families but in the end, there were no leads. Maddie was Nora’s best friend and never truly healed from losing her best friend. She is desperate for some closure. However, the opposite happens. The morning after the memorial, Nora’s sister Noelle is found dead at the exact same spot where Nora went missing. Now Maddie needs answers and has difficulty trusting anyone.

This mystery gets better and better as the pages turn. The reader never knows what to expect or who to trust. Everyone is a suspect. This makes for a great thriller. There are a few points where I believe there is a unnecessary information and serves no purpose to the plot. However, in regards to the main storyline, it kept me hooked from beginning to end!

Maddie’s character is written perfectly. She lost her best friend and at 17 that is like losing half of oneself. She feels empty and is never able to move on. She blames herself and the book really dives into how grief affects someone. She struggles with guilt and trusting everyone around her. I feel like everything Maddie experiences are how many people would feel if there were ever in this situation.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars! I really can’t wait to see more from this author and I would love to see this book made into a movie! I definitely recommend this read if you enjoy mystery or thrillers! You will never guess the ending!

It was,a good read. I'm giving it three stars even though I like the mystery of storyline some parts just gave me headache maybe because it's told in the first person and I like that in certain books this wasn't one of them even if I like the character of Maddie. Will I recommend this book yes because of the mystery of what happen to Nora ten years ago and then present day with her sister Noelle murder.

I recommend this novel to fans of mystery fiction. The plot was well-written. I mainly picked it because of the cover.

Wow! Forget Me Not is a great story of intrigue, suspense and guessing.
Maddie's best friend Nora went missing and was never found. Ten years later Maddie is still struggling with not knowing what happened to Nora.
On the anniversary of Nora's disappearance her family holds a vigil in her honor. Maddie comes home for the vigil as always. She see's Nora's brother Nate but the friendship they once had has not been repaired. Noelle is Nora's younger sister and tries to keep in constant contact with Maddie although Maddie finds it hard because she reminds her of Nora.
Before Maddie can get out of town she learns that Noelle has been murdered and found in almost the exact location Nora was last seen.
Now Maddie is determined to stay in town and find out what happened to Noelle as well as Nora.
