If The Devil Had A Dog by TK Lukas.
Sidney McQueen flees to the small, west Texas town of Alpine to escape the most dangerous man she's ever known - her estranged husband - a powerful attorney with ties to Mexican drug cartels. When circumstances throw her into the path of Markus Yeager, he is immediately suspicious. And, when Sidney reveals she is in possession of something her soon-to-be ex is hell-bent to retrieve, Markus becomes embroiled in a world he thought he had left far behind. A former Marine turned CIA operative, Markus has a top-secret past with the physical and emotional scars to prove it. He is drawn into Sidney's life-or-death situation, where weapons, drugs, and money are the only gods - a world where dangerous traffickers stop at nothing to get what they want. As their mutual need draws them closer, Markus and Sidney discover a deadly predator whose web of treachery leads to terrifying violence. In a frantic race against time, can they stay one step ahead, expose a dangerous cartel, and bring a murderer to justice?
Brilliant read. Loved the cover. 5*.
This book was only available through Amazon direct download and I do not have an Amazon/Kindle account that allows download. I would have enjoyed reading this book but it was not an option. sorry
Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this arc.
A fast, easy and mindless read for me. A beach read, if you will. The plot was typical "damsel in distress" finds "knight in shining armor" (and his dog), lots of steamy sex and even more graphic violence among the brand name "dropping" (which I assume is thrown in to make the story more realistic). The characters were as developed as the plot demanded, nothing really new or fresh there either. An undemanding read with enough action to keep me awake on a cold and rainy afternoon.
2.5 stars
Gripping psychological thriller. Can you escape your controlling ex-husband or will he be able to find you wherever you go - and what lengths will he go to to find you. Highly recommended.

This was an extremely well written thriller. Mystery, suspense and strong characters. Trying to get away from a powerful, abusive and well connected husband puts Sidney close to Markus and his awesome wolf/hybrid Rex. Fast paced, and suspense filled I couldn't put this one down.
This was an enjoyable fast read that was very well written.
