This was a really nice office romance that did not feature sexual harassment or feel predatory - pretty much a first for me, because usually, that's what you get. Blatant sexual harassment that you're supposed to find hot, angry and obsessed boss, blah blah blah. But May Flowers was like such a refreshing change, with Lochlan giving more of a protective than predatory vibe and the feelings actually being honest and mutual, rather than indecent and forced. I really liked all of the characters. The Collins clan sounded very warm, so I might want to find the other books in the series. Chloe was so adorable, I wish there'd been more about how things were going for May's mom and Jenny, though. They broke my heart.

While I have begun to tire of the "hot uber-rich boss" trend these days, this story was much more than I expected. I enjoy some steamy goodness in my romance novels, and this book definitely delivered on that promise and more.

When Lachlan Collins returns from vacation, he finds a new administrative assistant sitting in the place of his long-time assistant who had been "threatening" to retire for awhile. He hadn't believed she was serious, but not only had she followed through with her plans, she found him a replacement --- and a beautiful, young, and competent one at that! May Flowers (yes, that's her name!) needs this job to support her mother and two nieces as she is their only source of income and care. When she meets her new boss, he is anything but welcoming. Their chemistry is pretty instant, and while they both try to resist the pull, they eventually succumb. Lachlan is, of course, the confirmed bachelor type, but he realizes he needs more in his life than he thought when he falls hard for May.

This book is part of the Wilder Irish series, but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone (I hadn't read any of the other books in the series before reading this one). It's a juicy read with some mild BDSM/dominant themes, and it is intended for 18+ readers.

I loved Lochlan and May together, their chemistry was off the charts. Once Lochlan was hit by the Collins Curse, he wouldn't give up even though May was determined not to fall for him. Glad they found their HEA!

I thought this story started out strong, but I wish it would have fleshed out the characters more. I don't feel like the story was as sensual as the synopsis made me think it would be, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

May and Lochlan could have developed a great relationship and at times I really felt they did, but then days or weeks would skip and we had to just assume that their professional and personal life was developing. For someone as staunch against marriage and kids as Lochlan was, I wished we could have seen a more slow progression of him deciding that May, marriage, and children is what he really wanted. I did like how he was so willing to help her and her family even before they became romantically involved. And his family were gems (and the focal point of the other books in this series- which I've yet to read) who I definitely wouldn't mind getting to know better.

Overall it was an enjoyable read, but I would have liked another 30-40 pages in order to get a better grasp on their relationship.

This wasn’t my favorite because the dominant/submissive isn’t appealing to me. I did like the characters and the plot was entertaining. There was a good amount of angst that resolved nicely and the writing was clear and easy to read. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Everyone loves an office romance and this one was a good one. May was a fun and feisty character and Lochlan wasn't as emotionally stunted as he seemed. This was a great addition to the series even if it didn't play as much into BDSM as the books do.

May Flowers was hired to replace Lochlan Wallace's longtime personal assistant. She is the last thing he wants in a new assistant. May was young, gorgeous and submissive. Since his retiring PA hired and trained May while Lochlan was on a business trip, he decides that he needs to give her a chance. The more he works with May, the more he can't fight his basic instincts.

When May has trouble at home, Lochlan steps in to help and it brings out his dominate nature. May knows that she shouldn't be attracted to her boss, but he is making her want things she didn't know she needed. Lochlan is wrestling with his own emotions, but in the end will he claim May as his?

The Wild Irish and Wilder Irish series is one of my favorite series. This book is a perfect addition. I liked how it includes family which is an important dynamic in the Collins family. The characters were wonderful. I liked May and Lochlan.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

Just finished this book and loved it, Mari Carr writes about people you would like to have as friends! It was over too soon, but it looks like it was the last of a series, so I get to go read them now!!! Its spicy with a solid story, two thumbs up.

Lochlan Collins hates change and is used to getting his way. So when his administrative assistant follows through with her intentions to retire he leaves it up to her to find a replacement. When he returns from a business trip he is totally shocked at who she chose as her replacement.

May feels that she is out of her league with her new job as well as with her boss. He makes her want things she’s never considered.

When Lochlan discovers the family troubles May is going through his alpha instincts take over and he will do whatever it takes to protect her.

Bringing new life to the Wild Irish with this 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 star read.

I was completely taken with Mari Carr’s original Wild Irish series, so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the next generation growing up so soon in the Wilder Irish series. But I had nothing to fear as there is a comforting continuity, not only with the original series but between the previous books of the new generation.

I particularly like Lochlan Wallace, though the dominant male I was anticipating, he is also a thinker. I can empathize with May as she takes everything the world throws at her and tries to manage it all. But like most of us, she eventually cracks, and those cracks allow Lochlan a way through.

I highly recommend to those who liked the first series and to those who like the romance with a little extra spice. My thanks to #Netgalley for my copy of #MayFlowers to review.

This book is part of a series but it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. I didn't read the other books and this one was perfect alone. The story line was absolutely amazing. The characters were easy to follow with the perfect mix of steamy & Sexy.

Lochlan and May lead us on a unforgettable journey. It felt like you were right there with them. Very well written , with the perfect flow. It never felt dragged out. Lochlan went from a man who never wanted a relationship to wanting everything with May. May has a lot on her plate, it wont be easy to let him into her heart.

I will be looking for more in this series. This was one of those books for me that I couldn't put down.

Lochlan owns a million dollar company and is about to get a new personal assistant. His PA that has been with him for years is retiring and while he was away on business, she hires May. May is young, raising her two nieces, and taking care of her mother plus living in a run down apartment. He feels an instant attraction but has a no dating policy in the company. But he’s the boss and can make up his own rules. Getting May to admit her feelings is like pulling a tooth. Can he get past her walls and let him in or will she let the best thing that has ever happened walk away?
Great story. A little BDSM, instant family, and office sex. A strong, independent woman and an sexy Irish man.

MAY FLOWERS by Mari Carr. This is an office romance, orchestrated by the outgoing assistant, much to the Hero's dismay. I adored this tale. Our main characters - Lochlan and May are both delightful. Lochlan is Mr. Macho Alpha and uber sexy. May is crazily independent but shoulders so much for a young woman. I liked her sass and spunk and determination. Watching these two stubborn souls battle out who will get the upper hand was fun. Lochlan, when push came to shove, succumbs to his family's curse about love but will May? Ms. Carr has taken an office romance story and has incorporated so much more - family is everything and it is proven over and over throughout this story. The story has moments of heartache, moments of joy, moments of love and moments of sadness too. It captures all the emotions and feels that we all live through each day. Yes, there is a bit of kink as well, but it wasn't too much. I have not read the previous works in this series and found no trouble following along. I do intend to catch up on the previous books as I thoroughly enjoyed this one. (received ARC for honest review)

With it's contemporary genre and mild BDSM scenes, this book is beyond the scope of what I typically read/enjoy. However, I'm a sucker for those protective heroes, of which Lochlan was definitely one. It was also refreshing to read a book in which the hero falls first and hard for the heroine. Lochlan's willingness and determination to step up and take care of May and slay all her dragons for her was great and his family was wonderful too. I'd like to read their stories now, in fact. This was a really short book with gaps of several months between some of the chapters that could've been detailed, but somehow it worked here. I breezed through this one during a hurricane off day, so it's a pretty quick one. This story was simple, extremely steamy and a quick read so if any of that appeals to you, I would recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

This was such a good read! I had to read the prologue first to fully understand its contents. The story starts with Patrick Collins (grandfather to Lochlan) rocking his grandson (Patrick Lochlan Wallace) in his arms and which reveals Lochlan's family. As the story unfolds, Lochlan (the central character) becomes a man. He owns his own company, has a companion with no strings attached, does not want kids, and feels he has it all, until his assistant (Sally Walters) decides to retire. Lochlan becomes upset and tries to do everything he can to talk her out of it, because of her being vital to his success in his company. When he returns from his business venture (Sally’s last day) reality sets in and Lochlan is introduced to Sally’s replacement, May Flowers and his life will never be the same.

This was the first book that I have read from this Arthur.

I felt she did an excellent job with holding my attention, and I only wish the story was a little longer and provided more details on other characters at the end. Overall, the book was worth reading and hard to put down and I can't wait to read other books by her in the future..

4,5 stars!
I loved this book in the Wilder Irish series. The last book wasn't a hot for me, but this one more the made up for it (in my opinion!). May and Lochlan have a boss/assistant relationship, that turns into more. I was feeling the sub/dom thing (again in my opinion they could have left that whole thing out). I loved how Lochlan was so hesitant to be with someone, but then fell fast. It was a great story, and touched on my things (like May caring for her mom and nieces).

This was my first experience reading this author's work and I really enjoyed it--makes me want to read all about these Irish men in this family! Lochlan and May heat up the pages right from the start, but the storyline was touching as well. This was a quick read with some real heartwarming moments and several steamy ones. Very little angst, but made for a nice quick weekend read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Lochlan has the life he wants, no ties, no kids just making it big as a successful businessman. Everything is perfect until his long serving personal assistant finally puts her foot down and retires. Her last job is hiring her replacement, May, which puts Lochlan into a spin, he knows she’s too young and inexperienced to do the job he needs plus he can feel the danger of having such a beautiful woman around. He has always been against workplace relationships and doesn’t want to start now. However, he has promised to give her a chance and starts to be impressed by her quiet efficiency. Great to catch up with the Collin’s family again. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mari Carr consistently writes terrific stories, combining organic emotional connection and palpable sexual chemistry. This is my first read in the Wilder Irish series, but I've read most of the Wild Irish series. The gaps in my reading did not take away anything from reading May Flowers.

Love Lochlan. He's hot and ambitious, for sure, but I especially liked his capacity for self-examination and his willingness to embrace change. Not that he changed any fundamentals about himself, but he was willing to alter his life's course when his situation became different rather than dig in his heels because "this is how I've always done it."

May is a terrific character. I could feel the delicate balance she maintained between keeping all her responsibilities under control and letting things get away from her. She's strong and determined, which makes it so satisfying to watch her consider letting Lochlan share her burden.

Most of all, I love the Collins family and loved this peek back into their shenanigans via this second generation. I'll read about the Collinses as long as Carr keeps writing about them.
