I was wary that I might find discussions of diet and fitness triggering, but this was so good and relatable.

To me the characters were all insufferable, the narrator was incredibly judgemental and ultimately I just didn't care about what happened to to the main character at all. The descriptions of her fat long-time best friend felt really callous, especially compared to her glowing descriptions of her new skinny gym friend.

I hated the way that Lexie's mother and sister spent the beginning of the book tearing her down and sending her into binge spirals over the issue of her weight, then for their relationship to blossom for the first time in her life after she'd finally lost weight like they'd been badgering her to do. Maybe they should have seen more than skin deep. If only we knew why she has terrible self esteem!

In the end i just could finish this book: DNF 40%

Bon Bons to Yoga Pants
(The Health and Happiness Society #1)
by Katie Cross

For many there is the same journey of not measuring up to the worlds judgmental view of what everyone should look like; thin, beautiful and a super-model. The journey of weight loss is very much a struggle for many, everybody has insecurities and fears of what others think about the way someone looks. Realistically, searching for the “world’s ideal outside view” of what everyone should look like, is never going to make everyone happy on the inside. Once I started, I could not put it down! I wanted to know what would happen.

Bon Bons to Yoga Pants is an inspirational story of the journey, so realistic, and moving.
The book has it’s tear jerker, moments and is a great story; proving that what you think about yourself will make you happier, than trying to conform to what people think of you. I read the whole book, even though I kind of hated it. The author narrative style is horrifyingly judgmental, the world has a very harsh view on people’s size; but, few are willing to think about why. I have friends that have issues with weight due to health-related issues. Bon Bons to yoga pants was funny, engaging and most of all relevant to the issues of weight loss. I give Bon Bons to Yoga Pants, a three-star rating, as it was an informative, and inspirational read.

This was a cute read. Not something that I would typically have read, however, I have a new favorite author named Katie Cross. I will be looking for more from this author.

This book started out well, but about 1/3 into the book, it started to feel as though I have read this story a million times over in other books.

As soon as Lexie "accidentally" meets up with the instructor at the gym, I lost interest. Up to that point, however, there were some interesting observations on binge eating that were spot on.

Too bad this had to turn into a mushy romance.

I couldn't get into the story. It seems I've read this same story several times and had no desire to repeat the same theme.

Much like the title alludes to, this is a fluffy confection of a book. Don't expect your world to be rocked but the heroine was relatable enough.

This was too cutesy at first- a "pretty faced" narrator hiding her plus-size status from her online crush- but the writing was good enough to draw me into the story. Lots of good points about emotional eating. But whyyyy must the crush ALWAYS address her as "girl"?! Every time he showed up in the story, all I could think was Ryan Gosling meme.

To be honest the title and cover are what caught my eye when I requested from Net Galley and the author..
I was looking for a light fun read after the last few thriller/suspense books I had read and this book did not disappoint

This is a story of a young woman's journey of self-discovery. The main female character, Lexie, is overweight, addicted to food, and has low self-esteem. Her family is harassing, overbearing, and some what supportive for her lose weight. Her sister, Kenzie, is planning a wedding, with her as the maid of honor and wants to make sure the gown will fit., Lexie's meeting a young man, Bradley, on Facebook, and sparks a small desire to "look good for him, should they ever meet". At first, the book appeared to chronicle her weight loss efforts. But, as the pounds start slipping off, it is apparent that Lexi needs more on her journey to self.
The ending is bit dry as I believe it just ends...

Lexie Green is practically every women.
I so totally get Lexie Green!
Lexie Greene is now my heroine!
If she's grumpy, then I'm grumpy, if she's sad, then I'm sad. If she's hungry then I'm hungry. If she's happy then I'm happy.
This is a wonderful, adorable book which almost every women can relate to!
Guess what gals? If Lexie Greene says that we're worthy of ourselves , then, by golly, we are SO totally worthy!!
I would LOVE to read her next book! Thank you, Katie Cross for your inspirations and uplifting words!
I wish I had read this sooner. This was such a fun book to read especially being sick!
I received this ARC from Net Galley and Antebellum Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book and the journey that the main character Lexie goes on throughout this book.

She is a young woman that is over weight and has really.low self esteem who is also addicted to food as a way to cope.

Though all of her struggles I could feel her pain and really empathize and connect to her as I have been on her shoes as well.

Overall this book is very well written and I throughly enjoyed it.
