Very informative book. Full of a lot of useful information. This book will also be very useful for future reference
Emphasis on taking time to address your body’s energies and decompress in such as a way that you learn to know yourself from the inside out. Tipton goes into the origin, definition, and the flow of reiki by using many nature-based analogies and visualization, New Age philosophy, and outlooks, while emphasizing mindfulness, refocusing/recalibration, and self-massage (‘dry bathing’) exercises to remain in tune with your inner self.
This book has a lot of interesting information on reiki, not just an overview for those who want to know what reiki is about. I've been a reiki practicioner for years, and I found a good deal of useful information and healing exercises in this book.
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC of this book, which I will certainly have as reference for the future.
I loved this book. An excellent how-to guide for using Reiki in every realm of your life. As an energy worker, I found this title to be the most comprehensive book on this subject. I had a pen and journal with me while I read. I hope to re-read it and will recommend copies to other energy workers!
I am just learning about Reiki and this was a great start. I found it to be a joy to read and inspired me to learning more and maybe take the Reiki level one course.
I really enjoyed reading Living Reiki by Melissa Tipton. I hadn't know much about it, prior to reading, but I have noticed more people talking about it in the library recently, so I wanted to learn more. I think the topic is fascinating now and I believe library patrons will be interested, too. I have purchased a copy for my library.
This isn’t the type of book that you can sit down and read through and have a complete understanding of it. This is the type of book that I know I will return to again and again along my Reiki path. The book is chock full of meditation exercises to use in breaking down the energy blockages within us.
In reading the book through once, I know there were areas that just didn’t sink in so I’ll have to return to them again. One thing that really stood out for me is how we can contaminate Reiki by using our own personal energy (which may well be messed up yet) or if we impose our ego on the energy. We need to spiritually heal ourselves in order for healing energy to flow well. Self-acceptance is at the center of this well-written guide.
While I’ve been thinking of the five precepts of Reiki on a daily basis for almost a year now, Ms. Tipton gave me new insight into those precepts. There’s even a Divine Scavenger Hunt that I’m looking forward to embarking on.
Recommended.
A good handbook for basic Reiki healing energy, practices, and principles. I am glad to have this to add to my library of energy work resources. Exercises, meditations and other information that is very valuable for learning and integrating Reiki into your daily life. The only thing missing is the guidance of a Reiki master for attunements and teaching.
Living Reiki is a wonderful book for anyone interested in Reiki or getting into spiritual allignment. It's more a deep journey into self development and self care and healing.
I enjoyed many aspects of this book, the meditation especially.
Anyone wanting to explore their own mind, needs to read this. Probably more than once!
It's so absolutely full of wonderful information and exercises.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
