I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you!
Abigail Linton and Maxwell Bryce, the Duke of Rothwell, were in love with each other as children. However, events and another's involvement caused them to be angry with the other. Max stayed away for 15 years, thinking he would never see Abby again. Max is a libertine and Abby knows of his exploits. Neither can deny the passion and attraction they still have for the other. Abby is treated like an unpaid servant for her older siblings, which begins to frustrate her when they try to decide which of them she should stay with to assist them with their children. He becomes a governess for Max's sister, knowing he will not return. Much to her shock, Max returns with others. Abby has many unkind words to say to Max though. Max refuses to fall in love and Abby will only marry for love. Both are rather stubborn and Abby accuses Max a lot in this novel. While Max and Abby attempt to mend their relationship, others try to keep them apart with their own agendas. When Abby is injured, Max realizes the truth of his feelings towards her. Abby still loves Max, but can she look beyond his past to the man he is now?
